EXTRA: Mohrdrand Hollandria

It's probably pretty obvious that the name Mohrdrand is a riff on Mordred, from the Arthurian tales. Still, I thought I'd put it out there so it isn't seen as an accident.

He was developed pretty early in the process. As far back as October of '20 when I was first putting the concept of this series together. His last name came a couple of months later. He was originally just a higher ranked mage who lived in Mokkelton because he'd been carrying a torch for Rosaluna for most of his adult life.

Later, he became a generalist wizard and an inveterate tinkerer, in part because of the Runstable's wagon. He honestly came together pretty quickly, and hasn't changed all that much over the duration of development.

His history has grown a bit more than his character. Initially, he didn't have one, as I didn't feel he needed one. I changed my mind after I started writing him.

This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there.

He was born around five years after the first hero met his end, in a zone around halfway between Mokkelton and the capitol. By the time the third hero began his struggle against the demon lord, Mohrdrand was a rank 10 light mage.

The then king of Tandera raised an army in support of the hero, waging war with the demon lord's many lieutenants. Mohrdrand was drafted into that army, and fought through a number of campaigns for five years or more. He never followed the hero, and only saw him or his party once or twice from a distance.

Well into his eighties, Mohrdrand is one of the oldest surviving magic users in Tandera, and, at rank one- seventy-nine, the second most powerful behind only Rosaluna Galbradia. It hasn't been discussed, yet, whether he knows of any methods to enhance the gift, or if he's used them himself. He's been rank one-seventy-nine for a couple of years, and probably won't rank again, even if he hasn't peaked, as he's semi-retired now.

On the other hand, who knows what might happen if he doesn't kill himself messing with stupidly dangerous gadgets like the Runstable's.
