Maou’s POV

*Yawn* ‘How long will this person take?!’ (Maou)

The Maou had been sitting upon his throne for a few hours now observing the castle with his energy.  He had been waiting on his throne ever since the hero first entered his castle.

“No, continue straight you fool!  It obviously is wider to show it leads somewhere important.  Why are you turning right?” (Maou)

The Maou was beginning to get annoyed with the hero’s lack of direction.  In all of his years as the Maou he had never had a hero who had such a bad sense of direction that they couldn’t reach his throne within an hour of entering the Castle.

“I left a sign showing the path to the throne room… How can you take the wrong turn every time?!” (Maou)

The Maou shook his head in annoyance.

‘What is wrong with her?’ (Maou)

*Yawn* “I give up… I’m taking a nap.” (Maou)

*Dong* *Dong* *Dong*

Today was the day.

He stood there in a suit and tie awaiting his soon to be bride.

‘Finally, we will be together forever.’ (???) Man.

All his friends were there.  It was finally there time.  The door opened and a beautiful woman in a white wedding dress begun walking in next to an older gentleman.  She held a bouquet of crimson roses that matched her hair and eyes.

Wedding music could be heard as she gracefully walked towards him.

Soon her hand was given to him by the older gentleman.  The two then stood before the priest and said their vows.

“Do you Sophia take this man, Tsuneo, to be you’re lawfully wedded husband, to love and to cherish in sickness or in health until death do you part?” (Priest)

“I do.” (Sophia)

“Do you Tsuneo take this woman, Sophia, to be you’re lawfully wedded wife, to love and to cherish in sickness or in health until death do you part?” (Priest)

“I do.” (Tsuneo)

The two exchange rings.

“I now pronounce you man and wife, you may now kiss the bride.” (Priest)

The two lean in to kiss…

Maou’s POV

Maou felt something shaking him from his slumber.

“Hey wake up, this place is dangerous you shouldn’t be sleeping here.” (???)

*groan* “Five more weeks please.”(Maou)

The shaking continued, but he just went back to sleep.

The shaking stopped abruptly.

‘Finally I can sleep’ (Maou)

“WAKE UP!”(???)

He jumped up in surprise and looked right at the person.  It was a young girl with crimson hair and ruby eyes that pierced through all they saw.

“Who are you?”(Maou)

‘Why did you show up now? I was having such a great dream, right at the best part too.’ (Maou)

“That’s what I should be asking” (???)

“Besides, shouldn’t you introduce yourself before you go and ask for someone else’s name?” (???) The woman said curtly.

‘Annoying.’(Maou)

The maou nodded and begun to talk.

“I am Tsuneo Satan, king of hell and ruler of the demonkin.”  He said with authority.

She jumped back quickly and drew her sword in a flash.  The fire of anger soon overtook her.

“And who are you?”(Maou)  He said lazily.

She angrily replied “I am the Hero Emelia, and I will be your end!” (Emelia)

‘Oh, the hero finally got here, huh.’ (Maou)

*yawn*

“Oh, I see.”(Maou) He replied while hardly acknowledging the weight behind her words.

“WHAT ARE YOU DOING I AM HERE TO KILL YOU!  STOP ACTING CARELESS!”(Emelia)She dashed forward and in a flash reached him and swung down her blade.

The two ‘fought’ for a few minutes with him dodging with little effort.  Eventually she powered up but the result was the same.

‘Weak as usual.  Can those church idiots ever send anyone of worth?’ (Maou)

Finally, she swung her blade with all of her remaining power behind it at him for one last desperate strike.

“Die!” (Emelia) she screamed out.

As she swung with all her might her hair fluttered out of her face revealing her beauty.

The Maou was about to dodge as usual when he saw her face and his eyes widened as he paused in his place.

‘Her face, it’s…’ (Maou)

The Maou payed no mind to Emelia’s attack as he stared into her eyes.  His head was leaning to the left with the sword up against the right side of his neck.  A single drop of blood rolled down his neck and down his shirt.

‘She… Is it her?’ (Maou)

He looked into her surprised eyes and, ignoring the sword, reached to her face slowly.

‘That look in her eyes…’ (Maou)

Emelia quickly retreated from him, but he was already in front of her before she could react.

‘My precious one.’ (Maou)

Emelia closed her eyes quickly in fear.

‘Please don’t fear me my love.’ (Maou)

Soon his hand reached her face and brushed her hair away trying to comfort her.

Slowly her eyes opened.

‘Those ruby eyes.’ (Maou)

The Maou was looking at her with warm eyes and whispered.

“Sophia…”

‘My love.’ (Maou)

“Why haven’t you killed me?  Why are you looking at me like that!?” (Emelia)  She begun at a whisper and was yelling out the last word at the end.

The Maou soon came out of his daze by the end of her sentence.

‘It’s not her.  She died long ago’ (Maou) He shook his head in sadness.

“You remind me… of her…” He whispered.

“What?” (Emelia) Asked having been unable to hear him.

‘That’s right, she’s dead, and she’s the Saint and I the Maou.  I can never be with her…’ (Maou)

He slowly shook his head and begun to walk away.

“Where are you going!?  This fight is not over!” (Emelia) She called out.

‘I can’t bear to harm her.  Even if she only looks like her…’ (Maou)

He shook his head.

“It is, and you know it.” (Maou) He responded with a look of sadness as he walked away from her.

Soon he had left through a door to the left of the throne chamber.  The door closed behind him with a thud.

“How did it go Master?” (Sebastian)

Maou didn’t look at Sebastian and simply said.

“It went fine, send Maria to care for the hero for the remainder of her stay here.” (Maou)

“As you will Master.” (Sebastian)

Sebastian walked away to complete his work.

The Maou soon reached his bedroom and lay down.

‘That girl looks just like her… but it’s not.  She died long ago.  I saw it.’ (Maou)

He tossed and turned as he slowly slipped into sleep.
