Emelia’s POV
“That can’t be true. The Saint hated the Maou!” (Emelia)
She shook her head denying vehemently.
“Of course she hated the Maou. After all in her memory the Maou killed her one love, Tsuneo.” (Sebastian)
“That’s no true” Emelia whispered.
“I can do nothing else, but tell you the truth, miss. It is up to you to decide what to make of it.” (Sebastian)
Sebastian turned and left at those words.
‘It can’t be… can it?’ (Emelia)
Emelia did not know how long she stood there in a daze, but before she knew it a voice called out to her.
“Emelia, it’s time for dinner.” (Maria)
Emelia was shaken from her stupor by Maria’s voice.
“Ah… Yes, let’s eat.” (Emelia)
“Is everything okay?” (Maria)
“…I’m fine.” (Emelia)
‘Is it true?” (Emelia)
Maria looked worried, but led Emelia to the dining room where the two began to eat.
Emelia was listless throughout the meal.
“How was the art gallery?” (Maria)
“…” (Emelia)
“Did you see anything there that bothered you?” (Maria)
Maria’s look of worry finally made Emelia talk.
“I saw a picture… It looked like me, but it wasn’t.” (Emelia)
“The picture of the master’s love, right?” (Maria)
Emelia looked straight at her.
“You know the story?” (Emelia)
“I know the gist of it, but not the full details.” (Maria)
“Is it true?” (Emelia)
“Yes, it definitely is. I’ve seen proof.” (Maria)
“What proof?” (Emelia)
She started shaking Maria’s shoulders as she pleaded.
“A picture in the master’s room.” (Maria)
Maria was dizzy after all the shaking.
“Where is his room?” (Emelia)
Maria shook herself.
“I can’t tell you.” (Maria)
“Please.” (Emelia)
“No, I can’t.” (Maria) Shook her head.
“Please.” (Emelia)
“No!” (Maria)
This exchange went on for a while until Emelia bowed down.
“I’m begging you!” (Emelia)
*Mmmm*
Finally Maria broke.
“Fine, but I’ll show you the way, and be quiet when we get there.” (Maria)
“Thank you!” (Emelia)
“Luckily this is a night where the master’s out.” (Maria)
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
After Maria cleaned off the table the two proceeded back to the Throne room of the castle.
Emelia fully observed the throne room for the first time. It was a large room with a throne towards the back in regards to the main entrance. The throne was made of a black metal with a purple cushion.
Maria led her to the door to the right of the throne that the Maou left through when they fought.
*Shhh* “Be quiet we are entering the southern part of the castle where the master lives.” (Maria)
The two creeped through the halls of the castle passing by many empty rooms. Finally the two stopped before a door.
“This is the room be very quiet.” (Maria)
“Okay.” (Emelia)
*Creak*
Maria opened the door slowly and the two entered the room.
Emelia looked around the room. The design was much the same as her room except there was a picture atop the dresser in front of the mirror.
Emelia walked up to the picture as Maria looked around nervously. When she got to it Emelia picked the picture up and as she looked at it she saw a group of 11 teenagers. At the center of the picture was The Saint Sophia, and holding her right hand… was the Maou.
“It’s true.” ‘I’ve seen this exact photo depicting the Saint and her friends in their younger days.’ (Emelia)
Emelia had the truth sitting undeniably before her.
“The Maou was human.” (Emelia)
“Emelia~~~~.” (Maria)
Emelia set the photo down and turned around to see the Maou standing directly before her.
“…” (Emelia) (Maou)
The Maou looked at the picture she had been holding and then at Maria.
“Let’s go.” (Maria)
Maria tried to drag Emilia away.
“No! I wish to speak to Maou” (Emelia)
Emilia stomped her foot and stated.
The Maou looked at her.
“Tomorrow, lunch…” (Maou) Stated lazily as he went to bed.
Emilia was about to say something, but with Maria’s insistence she nodded and walked out with her.
The two arrived back at Emelia’s room where Maria helped her to change into sleep wear.
“Why couldn’t we speak then?” (Emelia)
“The master was tired, he’s been busy all day.” (Maria)
“With what? He’s so lazy what does he do?” (Emelia)
“He’s not lazy! Not today at least…” (Maria)
“What do you mean? What was he doing?” (Emelia)
“He was sealing the hellgate of course!” (Maria)
