The Lost Sun - Volume 2 Chapter 8 (Revamped)

I finished another chapter of my fanfic. Be sure to write what you think of the series. I do go around looking through the comments.

Chapter 8: A Familiar Acquaintance

“Ah.”

Sun said as he finally realized something.

“I’m starting to run out of magic herbs and other stuff.”

Like the Identification Skill he had picked up before, he had also taken the time to learn a magician subclass skill. This skill utilized the Herbalism skill to gather various herbs for use in various crafts. Using the herbs gathered from the Herbalism skill, he had the Magic Crafting skill.

Magic Crafting skill was a sub skill that could be learned by every magic related class. Both of them had learned this skill in order to craft various potions and items that assisted in the use of magic. Since they both used magic, it was a very useful skill to pick up.

Most mage class users did not pick up this skill. The effects of the skill did not pay off at first and was dismissed as useless. The amount of time spent on the skill did not seem worth it in the eyes of the users. However, after the skill reached beginner level 5, it became much more useful.

In fact, after level 5, it became much easier to train because the skill would then allow the user to harvest magical reagents from monster corpses. A large number of materials sold in stores were used in recipes beyond level 5.

The Magic Crafting skill worked exactly as it sounded. The skill would allow the user to create a number of items with magical properties; mostly potions and other consumable items.

In the early stages, the only items that the skill could make were considered useless. These items consisted of: a minor stamina recovery potion, a wound recovery potion, a potion that allowed the user to have night vision, and other miscellaneous items.

However, upon reaching level 5, various other types of potions could be made that were considered extremely useful. Potions such as health potions, regeneration boost potions, mana potions, mana recovery potions, magical attack boost potions, strength potion, agility potion, and various blessed charms that could be attached to equipment to boost affinity with certain elements.

The more rare the item, the more difficult to acquire materials. Thankfully there were various tiers of each item that required corresponding rarities of ingredients. So it was simple to create potions and items that were of rare rarity and below.

The more advanced items would require extremely potent materials. Such an example would be a Major Health Regeneration Potion, capable of increasing health regeneration by an insanely high amount. This item required an incredibly rare ingredient called Troll’s blood, monsters that are known for their high regenerative abilities.

However, basic health regeneration potions were relatively easy to make. A basic potion would require a few herbs and certain drop items from monsters.

Since this skill had become extremely useful for the two of them, it was essential that they pick up some more basic ingredients from the store.

After asking around for a few minutes, they were able to get information about the nearest store in town that would sell the items that they needed. They backtracked to the central plaza to get to the commerce area in order to get to the store.

Sun looked at the store to see a strangely familiar sign on it. He didn’t pay much attention to it since he was in a hurry to get food since he was rather famished after helping Alena train today.

They walked into the store where they saw a number of strange ingredients on display. There were certainly some of the items that he needed here, but why was there an entire section of items devoted to swords in a store that sold magic reagents?

It wasn’t long before he received his answer.

“So it was you that I saw in the plaza.”

A familiar female voice called out to him.

It was the girl that he had met back in the Citadel of Serabourg, a young merchant girl that ran a general store, peddling a number of strange of unidentifiable items. She had saw him at the central plaza where she had been ripping off…buying items from adventurers.

“What are you doing in this city Recette?”

This was not someone that he thought he would see in this place. Especially since this wasn’t the city where her store was at.

Recette smiled cheerfully and said.

“My store got very successful and we started opening more stores in other cities. Since the demand for goods is high in Seinbain, I moved my headquarters here. At least that’s what Tear told me to do.”

Sun nodded in understanding. It seemed like a very reasonable thing to do.

‘This Tear person must be quite good at finances.’

He had seen Tear once and was quite surprised. A small fairy type intelligent looking girl with glasses. It was good that Recette had Tear, since the poor girl wasn’t exactly very bright.

“So where is Tear now?”

Sun asked. Since he didn’t see her anywhere, she must have gone out somewhere.

“Oh, she went to the Merchant’s Guild to do some stuff.”

Recette said after thinking back at what Tear had said earlier that day.

“Anyways, since you’re here, you must be looking to buy something right?”

Naturally that was the original reason for coming to the store.

“Of course. I need some magic herbs, vials, mixing solvent…”

The list went on for about a minute. Recette just kept nodding her head in understanding.

“and that should be all of it. Do you have all of that?”

Recette simply reached under the counter and pulled out a bag. She then started pulling out the aforementioned items from it and put them onto the counter.

“Will that be everything?”

She asked after gathering all the things that he had requested.

“Yea, that looks like that’s everything I need. Where do you even get all this stuff from?”

Sun asked with a strange expression on his face. Stores did not usually gather such strange and obscure items that her store seemed to always have.

“Capitalism ho!”

Recette exclaimed out cheerfully.

‘That doesn’t really explain anything...’

Sun thought to himself. Since there was no point dwelling on it, he decided to just pay for his items.

There was no way of knowing that the items that were sold in the store were gotten from various dungeons by contracted adventurers whom were paid slave labor wages. However, there was no need to go into all the fancy semantics of fair labor laws and all of that nonsense.

“Come back if you ever need to buy anything~”

Recette said as she waved at them as they left.

***

Now that they were finished with their shopping, it was time that they got back onto their original goal.

They headed to a nearby restaurant that served dinner and dessert. Aside from its quirky and unusual employees, the food was very delicious and filling.

“Welcome!”

The two of them were greeted by a young and beautiful waitress.

“Would you like a table?”

“Yea.”

Sun replied.

“Right this way.”

The waitress led them to a table near one of the windows.

Clack.

There was a strange sound every few seconds. The source of the sound was coming from the waitress, more specifically from the katana that was hanging from her waist.

Sun decided not to pay any attention to it. Everyone in this town seemed to walk around with their weapons hanging out. How was it any strange that a waitress walked around with a katana?

“We will be with you shortly to take your order.”

The katana wielding waitress gave them the menu and then left to take care of another customer’s order.

Shortly after, another waitress came by to take their order.

“What would you like to order?”

This time the waitress looked like she was 12 years old. She was incredibly small and child looking. Height-wise she was about as tall as Alena.

‘What is a child doing working in a restaurant?’

Sun thought to himself but didn’t voice his thoughts. He had seen stranger things in his time in this world, there was no reason to be confused over a child working as a waitress.

They placed their orders for their food. He had ordered one of the specialties that the store had been serving that day, a hamburg steak with various sides, along with a large beer and a parfait.

Alena had ordered a child’s meal, consisting of a hamburger, fries, and a drink. With this order she also got a slice of chocolate cake.

“Please wait as we prepare your order.”

The child waitress left towards the kitchen.

After about 15 or so minutes, another waitress came by to deliver their food. She was a normal looking young girl, who was wearing a decorative hairpin.

She served them with a smile and gave them their orders. She also was considerate enough to ask if there was anything else that they would like.

“This is more than enough. Thank you.”

The waitress headed back into the kitchen to get the next order.

‘What a nice young girl.”

Sun thought to himself.

***

The young waitress headed back into the kitchen area. There she met with a young man who also worked at the store as a waiter.

“I’m surprised.”

The young man said to the girl.

“About what?”

The young waitress asked, not understanding what he had meant.

“You were able to serve a man for once.”

The young girl actually had a severe case of androphobia. The young man was hardly any better, since he had a severe case of lolicon. Though androphobia could be treated, lolicon was a terminally ill disease.

“Eh?”

The girl was confused at what he had just said.

“What are you saying Takanashi-san? There’s nnn-no way that such a bbb-beautiful person can be a mm-man.”

The girl was trying to convince herself of this even though she was showing signs of wavering.

“No that is definitely a man. Look, he’s wearing the uniform for the male priests from the Church of Freya.”

The young man pounded the final nail into the casket. The young girl started having a serious panic attack, in which she then struck and punched the young man really hard.

Thud.

A loud thud resounded throughout the restaurant and the man was knocked back by the force of the blow.

***

“I wonder what was that.”

Sun said hearing a strange sound.

Ttiring!

He heard a ringing sound, which was then followed by a familiar voice.

“Sun, we've finally arrived in Seinbain. Where can we find you?”

It was Da Xia, one of the friends that he had made back in the Citadel of Serabourg. They had kept in touch over the last few months through whispers.

Sun had not seen them in quite some time. Quite a lot of time had passed since he had left the Citadel. However it had only been about a month and a half in real life for the others.

Ever since he left the Citadel of Serabourg, his friends had gone on a journey in order to visit various kingdoms and fight strong monsters. They had gone through a few kingdoms along the way but, upon hearing the information that Knights could earn honor by fighting for Seinbain, they decided it was best to come to the Kallamore Kingdom in order to increase Da Xia’s honor stat. The monsters around Seinbain would provide good experience and there were plenty of quests and benefits to be had from fighting in Seinbain.

Sun had told them a few weeks ago that he had been staying in Seinbain for awhile. Since their destinations were the same, they decided to meet up with Sun since it had been quite some time since they had last met.

Sun thought for a moment before responding. Since they had just arrived they were most likely going to be hungry.

“I’m at a restaurant called Wagnaria. It’s past the central plaza.”

Sun decided to order more food since it would take time to cook and he might as well order it so that it would be ready by the time that they got here.

Since he didn't really know their preferences for food, he just ordered some of the ordinary types of food.

He ordered a few rice dishes, a few meat dishes, a pasta dish, and a couple of sandwiches.

Soon enough the katana wielding waitress came by with the dishes he had ordered.

“Is this the place?”

Sun looked over to the entrance and surely enough his friends were there. Sun waved his hand towards them, motioning them to come over.

“Ah! There he is!”

Feng Yun, the rogue of the party, had noticed him waving towards them and she told the rest of her friends.

They walked over to Sun’s table to join him, and were surprised to see that he had already ordered food. Yong Li, the swordsman and leader of their party, greeted him.

“It’s been a long time Sun. How have you been?”

“I've been traveling around with the church. Go ahead and help yourself to some food.”

Sun was in no way being philanthropic. He was treating them to a meal now, but he was going to recover his expenditures by going hunting with them. He had made a considerable amount of money through the church, but that was solely due to his arduous work that he had to put into it.

Money was not very easy to earn in the church. There was a small amount of income to be made from selling blessings to adventurers at the church. The priests would receive a portion of the income from giving a blessing, which was good money at the beginning but minuscule in amount compared to now.

Some of his money came from completing various side missions that the church provided and by selling off all the items that he didn't need. Through hunting he had collected a number of rare items that could be sold for a decent amount of gold. The sale of monster drops provided a decent flow of income as well. There was also his salary that he received for his service in the church. It wasn't’t much but it was a steady amount towards his income. Aside from that, it was mostly thanks to his affiliation with the church and his fame that allowed him to sell his goods for decently higher prices.

Hunting in a smaller group would net him a larger amount of money in a shorter period of time. When he had joined on the expedition, the main goal wasn't to hunt monsters but to seek information. For that reason, they did not fight as many monsters as they could have. Hunting in a larger group also meant that the spoils from combat would be distributed among a large number of people.

By hunting in a smaller group, even if the pace of combat was slower they would fight more often. The drops would be divided among a smaller number of people and the items would usually be better.

The largest benefit would be the diversity in skills. Hunting with the expedition was good, but they excelled mainly at hunting the undead. The holy knights were mainly capable of close combat and defensive skills. They could not do much in terms of ranged attacks.

Having a rogue, mage, and archer would make dungeon exploration much easier and give them more diversity in tactics. The main tactic with the holy knights was to overcome them with numbers and power.

“Thanks Sun! This looks really good!”

Feng Yun sat down quickly without any reservations. It seems that she was very hungry since the trip to the city from the nearest town was a few days on foot. In that time they had most likely only eaten the preserved barley bread that was sold in the stores.

The rest of them sat down as well and started eating.

Xuehua looked around for a bit until a normal looking waitress came by.

“How may I be of assistance?”

The normal looking waitress asked.

Xuehua pointed at one of the items on the menu at the waitress.

“You want to order that?”

“Yes.”

Xuehua nodded to confirm.

“Will that be everything?”

“Yes.”

The waitress wrote down her order and headed to the kitchen to give it to a delinquent looking man that was dressed like a cook.

“Is there anything else that you want to order?”

Sun asked everyone else at the table.

“Can I get some cake? I want something sweet.”

“No, this is enough.”

“Something to drink maybe?”

“Definitely a beer.”

Feng Yun, Yong Li, Da Xia, and Hou Yi said respectively.

When the waitress came by to give Xuehua her order, the rest of them ordered their drinks and cake.

The thing that Xuehua had ordered was an ice cream float.

‘Very much like an ice mage. They seem to like cold stuff.’

Maybe it was something to do with their elemental affinity, but ice mages tended to have cool personalities and fire mages had fiery dispositions.

‘Or maybe she just wanted something sweet?’

Sun thought to himself after looking at her happily drinking her ice cream float.

The normal looking waitress came by and gave them the rest of their orders normally, and then she went about her normal business in a normally normal fashion.

“Anyways Sun, who’s this?”

Da Xia asked with a curious expression. They had not noticed before when they had been standing up, but now that they were sitting down they were able to see the small girl that was sitting next to Sun.

“Go ahead and introduce yourself.”

Sun said, encouraging her.

“Hello. My name is Alena. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

She said with a slight bow of her head.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Good evening. My name is Yong Li.”

“Hou Yi, at your service.”

Hou Yi introduced himself, giving a rather exaggerated bow.

“Hi, my name is Feng Yun~”

“Xuehua. Nice to. Meet you.”

“Hello there. I’m Da Xia. How are you acquainted with Sun?”

That was the question on the rest of their minds. It was rather rare for children to be playing Royal Road. Even though the game had a content filter for younger audiences, such as removing graphic effects such as blood, gore, and other adult related themes, it was rather rare to see children below the age of 14 playing Royal Road. Since she was together with Sun, they thought that she had to be a player and not an NPC.

Alena thought for a few moments, and then looked like she was going to say something. But then she started thinking for a little bit longer before she said somewhat uncertainly.

“....I'm his daughter?”

Hou Yi almost spit out the beer that he had been drinking. The rest of them had looks of astonishment on their faces.

“Sun, you have a daughter?”

Yong Li said with with a look of complete befuddlement.

Taking his age into account, he was around his mid-twenties and this girl was ten years old. If that was the case then that meant that he had a kid around 15 years old or younger.

“To think that you were that kind of person…”

Da Xia said with a rather flustered look on the face. The rest of the girls were avoiding his gaze as well.

Sun wanted to face desk quite hard right now but that would be hardly appropriate given the situation he was in.

‘You were the one responsible for taking care of her in the first place. If we couldn't find if she had any parents then we were probably going to have you adopt her.’

Calvin’s words from before flashed back in his mind.

‘Damn you Calvin for putting weird thoughts in her head!’

Sun had to do what he could to salvage this situation to prevent it from getting any more misunderstood.

“She’s not really my daughter. It’s just that she doesn't have any parent’s so I ended up taking care of her.”

A look of comprehension came upon their faces after his explanation.

“So you aren't some kind of playboy?”

Feng Yun asked inquisitively.

“Do you even have to ask?”

“So is that a yes?”

“Not at all!”

Sun retorted at her question.

“So she’s like an adopted daughter for you then? That’s really nice of you Sun.”

Yong Li praised him. It wasn't simple for someone to do something like this, especially for a stranger that isn’t even a relative.

“Could it be that you’re a lolicon?”

Hou Yi said jokingly.

“Do you want to get beat?”

Sun said as he lifted his fist up.

“Hahaha! Like a priest could beat up an archer!”

Hou Yi laughed at the very thought of it.

“Just kidding. You don’t seem like that kind of person.”

Sun breathed out a sigh.

They finished up their meal and left the restaurant. Since it was already late and since they were tired from the journey, they decided to rest for now and go hunting tomorrow. Sun decided that it was about time that he and Alena went back to the church.

***

After a good night’s sleep, Sun woke up rather refreshed.

Though the Darkness God had awoken two months ago, there didn't seem to be any apocalyptic changes to the world yet. Aside from the countless monsters besieging the city on a daily basis, it was a relatively peaceful atmosphere.

Rousing Alena awake, the two of them went to the mess hall of the church to get some breakfast. After a light meal, they left the church and headed to the central plaza once again.

After about half an hour of browsing through the shops, the rest of his party finally entered into the plaza.

“Good morning.”

Sun said to them as they approached.

“Sorry we’re late. There was some stuff that we needed to get.”

They were a bit late because they were restocking on the various combat supplies that they had depleted over the course of their travels. There was also a need to go to the blacksmith to get their equipment repaired.

“So, what do you want to do today?”

Sun said, since he knew they must have something in mind if they had come all the way out to this monster infested city.

“We were thinking of getting a quest to hunt the monsters around city from one of the kingdom officials.”

There was an abundance of quests that were given from the kingdom, most of them involved hunting down the various ferocious monsters that were attacking the city. These quests gave a decent amount of experience and contribution points.

For the Knight class, completing these quests and fighting against these monsters could increase Honor, a knight exclusive stat. This was the main reason why they had come to the city because it was an opportunity to increase Da Xia’s honor stat while still managing to train against strong monsters.

“I really wish that we could have gone on the Northern Expedition with everyone else.”

Yong Li said a bit regretfully. The Northern Expedition had been organized by the Cold Roses Guild in an attempt to remove the curse of the Lizard King from the Continent, which had been steadily increasing the temperature of the continent. Sun had noticed that the temperature had been increasing but, thanks to Alena’s powerful ice magic, the effects were not that bad.

After Sun had departed from the city, they had gotten in touch with a friend of theirs that introduced them to the Dark Gamers Union. They were members of the union and could accept missions as Dark Gamers, but they were not allowed to go on the expedition since their level was too low and because they didn’t have a dedicated healer on their team.

“It’s too late to be saying things like that. For now we should focus on getting stronger by increasing our level and skills.”

Da Xia was right. This place was the perfect opportunity to increase their abilities. Da Xia could earn Honor here, but it was also a very beneficial place for the rest of them. The monsters were relatively strong but gave a normally decent amount of experience. Though they wouldn't be leveling up extremely quickly, they would still receive a decent amount of experience while increasing their skill expertise.

The class guilds in the city were also highly advanced, which meant that if they cleared certain conditions they could get new powerful class skills. Technology in the city was rather advanced as well since it was highly combat orientated. This was a very good place to purchase new equipment once they were high enough level.

In order to get a monster extermination quest, they needed to head to the castle where they would find the quest office and receive a commission from one of the officials.

“Hey Sun, what are you doing here?”

“Sun, long time no see. Thanks for all the help you gave us last time.”

Heading over to the castle, Sun ran into quite a few people that he had gotten himself acquainted with during his time in Seinbain. Most of them were members of the Royal Kallamore Knights, a division of knights that were devoted to protecting the kingdom. They were once known to be some of the mightiest knights in the land, but once they had lost their leader they had entered into a bit of a slump. However, they still fought to repel the monsters from invading their homeland.

Sun had gotten to know them through the church quests. The church often dispatched priests and holy knights to assist the Royal Knights in protecting the city. Sun had gone on a few of these monster exterminations with them. Since he had managed to keep them alive through many tough situations, the Royal Knights had given him a great deal of their respect.

There was one other factor that made him really well known.

“Hello there Alena. What are you and your father going to do today?”

Since he brought Alena along with him whenever he went on one of these missions, he was quickly thought of a that priest guy who has a daughter. The Royal Knights came by to pet Alena, treating her like a sort of mascot character.

“How do you know the Royal Knights?”

Da Xia knew that Royal Knights were considered among the most respected and powerful people in a kingdom. They were not very easy to get acquainted with.

“The church sent me on a few missions with them. I’ll see you guys later, I need to go to the castle.”

Sun waved goodbye to the knights who were on their way to the field to hunt down some of the monsters that had recently set up a base near their town.

They headed to the castle, where they were granted entrance to the Quest Department, which handed out quests to adventurers on a regular basis. Normally users would not be able to get access to the castle but Kallamore Kingdom was in dire need of the help of adventurers to drive away the monsters. They were able to do anything too amazing like meeting the king or any high ranking officials, but they were granted access to some of the castle’s facilities such as the Quest Department, the Recruitment Office, the Castle Store, and the Castle Armory.

The Castle Store and Armory gave adventurers items in exchange for the contribution earned through their efforts in the Quest Department and for their service in the Kallamore Army, which adventurers could join if they qualified in the Recruitment Office.

Since they didn't want to be tied down to one particular nation, they had decided to only use the Quest Department.

Joining the army had a number of various benefits to it, but it had a number of severe restrictions associated with it. Some of them were the inability to deny orders from higher officials and absolute allegiance to the nation as long as it continues to exist.

Joining a kingdom was similar to a faction system. Those in opposing factions are enemies and have the option of killing each other. Killing another player from the opposing faction will grant faction points but it will also increase the enemy’s awareness of the the player. This will result in greater losses in experience and drops when killed by a member of the opposing faction.

There were many other factors involved in the Kingdom system, but Kallamore Kingdom was currently in a weakened state where it was barely able to defend its own borders from the likes of monsters.

“What quests are available?”

Yong Li filed through the various request windows that were available. Since Sun was a powerful priest, it was beneficial to hunt undead monsters. However, since the Church of Freya along with the churches of other religious faiths were in the city, most of the undead related commissions headed towards the church. It was useful to gain more contribution towards the church but most of the good missions are taken by the higher rank holy knights. The church was highly self-sufficient and did not require the help of adventurers that often.

Another reason to not go to the church and receive a church related commission was that Da Xia would not be able to earn Honor if the mission was delegated by the church instead of the kingdom.

Yong Li was having a hard time trying to decide which quest they were capable of handling. Sun took a look through the quests as well.

[ Collect 50 Tsuchinoko Tails

Defeat the Corrupted Dire Wolves

Wipe out the Minotaur Clan

Clear out the Den of the Acidspitters

Retrieve 10 Demon Horns

...

]

There were a great number of high level quests, each with their own rewards.

‘These are…’

Out of some of the quests, Sun recognized some of the ones that he had completed before. Some of them were very difficult to complete and should only be taken once enough preparations were made. However, there were a few quests that could be completed with a smaller number of people and still gave decent rewards.

“Before we choose anything, what are your levels?”

Sun decided it was best to find out how strong they were before picking a mission that was beyond their capabilities.

Xuehua and Hou Yi were both at level 270. This was quite good since the level difference between the other members and the priest did not matter that much. The both of them leveled at the same pace since they were the most unlikely to die during combat since they were ranged characters.

Yong Li and Da Xia were at level 264 and 266 respectively. Warriors had less defense than knights and since they were both tanking, the weaker tank would suffer more casualties. As a trade-off, warriors dealt more damage than knights when not on horseback. However, knights would deal much more damage once they got on a mount.

Feng Yun was currently at level 267. Since she was specialized at hiding and ambushing enemies, she did not die that often compared to the tanks. However, if a situation turned out unfavorable then the chances of her dying increased exponentially.

Some time after reaching past level 200, they had already chosen to convert to their secondary tier classes. Yong Li decided to become an Heavy Warrior, a warrior that specializes in usage of Two Handed Weapons. He primarily chose to use swords.

Xuehua naturally chose to specialize in Ice Magic and converted her mage class to that of an Ice Mage. Though Ice magic was weakened in the current weather, that would be no problem because Alena could help decrease the temperature with her ice magic to allow Xuehua’s ice magic to be used normally.

Hou Yi had changed his archer class to a specialized Sharpshooter class, which received a bonus to critical damage when attacking an enemy’s vital points.

Feng Yun had switched out her Rogue class for the Assassin class, which emphasized stealth and surprise attacks for lethal damage. They also excel in the use of poisons and stunning attacks.

Da Xia was originally a knight. After a certain point, Knights can changed their class to that of a higher tier. There were several paths that Knights could go down but they each have their own prerequisites. For example, becoming a Dragon Knight required becoming acknowledged by a dragon. A Holy Knight must belong to a church. After much thought, Da Xia had chosen to become a Rune Knight.

A Rune Knight was a Knight that specializes in the use of magical runes. The Rune Knight place runes onto their equipment, enhancing various abilities depending on the ranks of their magical runes. They, however, are only able to use the runes on their own equipment and can not use runes on others since the runes are powered by their class characteristics. The runes last for a short duration before it expires, usually for a few hours. It was a relatively useful to use runes to boost various attributes for each equipment, such as damage on a sword or resistance to certain types of damage for armor, for example resistance to blunt damage. It could also help to use an agility rune on equipment for faster movement speed. There were many different kinds of runes to use. Luckily they all belonged to the Rune Magic skill so there was no need to train each rune individually

Another unique aspect of the Rune Knight was sword ability. Rune Knights were able to absorb a portion of a spell, based on the proficiency in Sword Mastery and Rune Magic, and convert it into mana. This unique ability allowed them to reduce the damage of a spell and recover mana from it. However, this skill does not work at multiple spells at once, so it can only absorb one spell every 30 seconds.

The Rune Knight class also received a number of active skills to use, relying on using runes to deal damage to an enemy.

The Rune Knight was a relatively difficult class to use, which was why not many chose to use this class. However, it was a good class to use once you get used to utilizing its various traits.

Taking into account their levels and classes, they should be able to handle some of the basic quests. Looking through a few of them, Sun picked out a few and them and handed them to the Quest receptionist.

“These should be good enough.”

Sun said as a few quest windows popped up for each of them.

“Are you sure we can handle these?”

Yong Li asked, confusion evident in his voice. The monsters listed in the quests were on the Dark Gamer’s Union forum. There was insufficient information on how to fight them which was his reason for caution.

“I've hunted them a few weeks ago. It should be fine.”

Sun had gone on an expedition to hunt monsters in the surrounding area. During this time, he took careful note of each monster’s characteristics and locations where the monsters were sparse in number.

“If you say so…”

Yong Li was still a little unwilling, but he decided that Sun knew more about this than he did.

They headed to the city’s exit and then Sun took out a map to find the location of the first quest.

[ Defeat the Corrupted Dire Wolves

Recently there has been an outbreak of wild Dire Wolves that have been driven insane through black magic. Defeat out at least 200 Corrupted Dire Wolves and collect the mana stones that is inside their bodies for an additional reward.

Difficulty: B

Rewards: Kallamore Kingdom Public Value Points

Knights will receive honor based on the results of the quest.

Additional rewards will be provided based on the number of mana stones brought back. ]

Corrupted Dire Wolves were monsters that were around level 270 to 280, with the named ones being as high as level 300.

Sun looked at the map once more and picked out the direction of the wolves’ territory.

“Now let the hunt begin.”
