As soon as he said those words, Lincoln started running towards the horde of goblins, who were also coming towards him. However, in the next second, time began to slow down.
[Time remaining: 01:59:59]
(Apparently, I really will have to complete this 'task' in an hour).
I thought to myself as I read that message.
As Lincoln was significantly stronger and much faster than the goblins, he didn't even give the monsters time to defend themselves, let alone try to attract the attention of the others.
With one swift, precise movement, Lincoln drove his sword straight into the head of the first monster. Then, without wasting any time, he activated the technique of his 'Twin Cuts' Skill. However, he still wasn't sure if the technique would work due to that small chance of failure of [1%].
(God willing.)
I thought to myself as I ran towards the goblins with the kitchen knife in one hand and the sword I had pulled out with the 'Gravitational Touch' in the other.
"Critical hit."
As soon as I used 'Critical Hit', the goblins didn't have the slightest chance to defend themselves against my attack and ended up being cut in half. I have to be honest with you, the way they ended up being killed surprised me a little. After all, I wasn't expecting that to happen.
"Hmm, interesting. So, this technique only didn't work against that Orc because of his size."
I said to myself with my hand on my chin, as I watched the mutilated bodies of the goblins disappear before my eyes. However, one of them ended up dropping a vial containing some kind of black viscous liquid. Although I didn't think much of it at the time, I just put the vial straight into my inventory.
After I had killed those ten monsters, the system resounded in my mind again.

[You've levelled up!]
However, since Lincoln already knew what the message was about, he decided to leave it alone.
"Man, I didn't even try that hard and I'm starting to get a bit tired."
I whispered that to myself as I took a quick look around to make sure there weren't any other monsters around. However, as soon as I turned round, I felt a sharp pain on the left side of my ribcage. It was as if a sharp claw had hit me, making me gasp and cringe instinctively.
Unable to bear the agonizing pain, Lincoln almost screamed. However, a slight grunt of pain escaped his mouth.
"GAAAH!"
"What the fuck is going on...?! It feels like part of my body is being burned and torn at the same time."
I whispered it with great difficulty while trying to understand what was happening to me. To try to understand why my ribs were hurting so much, I lifted my shirt slightly, and in doing so, I found myself with a large cut that took up a large part of my ribs.

[URGENT WARNING:]
[A harmful substance has been detected in your body.]
"Why does it always have to end like this?"
I whispered to myself, still struggling, as I felt the side effects of that unbearable pain.
"Huff...!"
With every breath I took, it felt like a knife was going through my body.
"Huff...!"

[High fatality rate found!]
"Just what I need! As well as not being able to breathe properly, I've somehow managed to get poisoned. To top it all off, there's still the chance that I'll end up dying from this shit."
I whispered to myself, almost fainting from the pain I was feeling.

[I recommend drinking the liquid from the bottle as a matter of extreme urgency to neutralize the poison.]
Because of the excruciating pain that was disrupting my thinking, I was barely able to think straight. However, I can't quite explain it, but for some reason, I could kind of sense a slight concern in those words.
"What the..."
Thump!
Those were the only words I managed to say before I literally fell to the ground and then blacked out.

[.... ..]
While Lincoln remained unconscious, oblivious to what was happening, his body automatically began to priorities his survival. His breathing became shallow and regular, his heartbeat slowed down to conserve energy, and his central nervous system focused on maintaining vital functions, protecting him from that poison, while the system did everything else.
As soon as the system took control of Lincoln's body, the first thing she did was open her inventory and take out the vial containing that black liquid he had obtained from the drop when he killed the goblin. Without a second thought, she took the contents of the vial.
sip sip sip
Even though Lincoln was still passed out, the system echoed in his mind, reverberating with much more intensity.

As soon as the effects of the buff in the portion and the detox were applied to Lincoln's body, his breathing began to return to normal.
After almost ten minutes of napping, Lincoln had finally woken up.
"Man, it's like a lorry ran over me."
I whispered to myself as I got up from the floor and began to stretch.
"I don't know what happened to me, but somehow I feel great."
As he wasted the time he no longer had, Lincoln remembered the task he was doing before he passed out.
"Shit, I almost forgot. Let's see how this mission is progressing."
I said that to myself as I sat down on the floor again, only this time in the lotus position.
Wanting to know how his progress was going, Lincoln decided to open the status of that mission.

Goblins: [10/30]

"What the fuck! I can't believe I ended up wasting half an hour just to defeat those ten goblins. And if that wasn't enough, I was still unconscious for ten minutes. I feel like I'm starting to lose track of how to do this."
