Chapter 33 - Words of comfort

To calm her down, I tried to use everything at my disposal and within my reach. The most natural option for me at that moment was to stroke her beautiful, soft hair, gently sliding my fingers between her locks. I took the opportunity to try and comfort her with a few words.

"You were amazing."

I whispered, hoping that my words would bring some comfort.

After Ronnie Anne had calmed down, she finally realized what she was doing and abruptly pulled away from me, her face still slightly flushed.

"Thank you for everything."

Said Ronnie Anne, her face turned away, unable to maintain eye contact with me.

As soon as I noticed her discomfort, I decided to change the direction of our conversation and return to the subject we were talking about a few minutes ago. However, instead of saying anything, I decided to just nod, indicating that I had accepted the thank you.

"But back to what we were talking about, did you hear any voices?"

I asked, still keeping my usual neutral expression, but instead of my hands in my pockets, I had crossed my arms.

Following exactly in the footsteps I had taken a few seconds before, Ronnie Anne decided to do the same thing I had done. Instead of answering me, she just nodded, indicating that she had understood my question.

"Now, do the same process that Clyde did."

As soon as I said that, Ronnie Anne turned to me again and, her face still a little pink, said.

"I'm sorry, but I don't fully remember the process."

Ronnie Anne commented, a little embarrassed, probably thinking that I would get angry again.

"You don't have to apologize all the time. I understand. I also went through this when I first awakened mine, so I know it can end up being difficult for you."

I said this with a calm and serene tone in my voice, as I stared at both Ronnie Anne and the other three, who were looking at me very intently.

As soon as Lincoln said that, Ronnie Anne ended up blushing even more, and the others were even more in awe.

"Getting back to the process, first, you're going to open your system. Understand?"

I asked her as I stared at her, and received another positive nod in response. After that, I continued what I was saying.

"Good! After your system opens, you'll press that name that's just below your name."

As soon as I said that, Ronnie Anne did exactly what I had told her to do.

(It seems my words had the effect I wanted.)

I thought to myself as I looked at her.

After she had finished doing what I had told her to do, Ronnie Anne turned to face me.

"Now, I want you to tell me which 'Classes' are appearing to you."

As I gave her that order, I noticed that Ronnie Anne followed suit by simply nodding, and then promptly shared with me what she was seeing on her screen.

"For me, the same 'Classes' as Clyde's appeared. However, instead of 'Class: Spy', this one called 'Armorer' appeared instead."

Ronnie Anne replied, while pausing briefly, before continuing with what she was saying.

"Did I do something wrong, and that's why this class appeared?"

Ronnie Anne asked, a little worried.

After hearing that, I couldn't help a small, almost discreet smile forming on my lips, as I already had in mind what that class was and which one she should choose.

"Based on everything you've already done with us; I recommend you choose the 'Armorer Class'."

I said assertively, indicating which class she should choose.

Ronnie Anne, confused and not understanding anything, asks Lincoln why she should choose that option straight away instead of the others.

"Why do I have to choose that class straight away? Why can't I just choose any of the others?"

Ronnie Anne asked, staring at me slightly, suspicious of something.

(Insightful, as always.)

I thought to myself as I gave a brief, almost discreet smile. Just as I was about to say something, Ronnie Anne interrupted me.

"I don't know why, but I didn't like that name very much. It sounds like he's insulting me."

As soon as I said that, Ronnie Anne turned her face away and gave a little peck.

***

After much insistence on my part and an otherworldly reluctance on her part, I had finally managed to convince Ronnie Anne to choose the 'Armorer' class.

(But I have to admit that it was one of the hardest tasks I've ever done. And I've seen and done a lot in my life, but man, I've never met a person as complicated to deal with as this girl).

I thought to myself as I glanced at Ronnie Anne, who was standing a little further away with a red face.

"But I'm glad all that effort I put in paid off."

I said that to myself as I let out a small sigh of relief that the situation was finally over, but in a way that no one could hear. However, as I was standing a bit away from them, I was sure that no one would hear.

As soon as Ronnie Anne had chosen the 'Armorer' class, the following skills had come with her. They were: 'Stealth', 'Acute Hearing' and 'Proficiency with Strings'.

In my opinion, of the three skills that came with her class, the only one that really made any sense and fit her personality perfectly was 'proficiency with ropes'. Because the other two weren't making any sense to me.

But as not everything was so bad, with those Skills that had come with her Class, she also chose some that would match her style perfectly. They were:

'Stress Resistance'

Which, to be honest, I didn't understand right away. However, when she explained to me why she had chosen that Skill... That's when I was completely baffled, understanding absolutely nothing.

As soon as I heard her explanation, I don't know why, but it didn't make any sense to me. When I asked her why she chose that particular skill, since there were so many others available, she just stared at me and replied: “Since you guys keep filling my head, this skill will be great for that purpose.”
