Hey all,
Update this week involves lost days of work because of a computer freak out, a medical issue for my son, and (because when it rains, it pours) an unexpected visitor from out of town.

1. Invasion 3: Still at around 60K words, but heading up. About 2k words lost due to a computer issue where it decided to hate me. Good news is it's in the process of recovery since I keep everything online. That means I don't have to redo the work and it'll be in the update next week. Just a timing thing for my weekly updates to you folks.
2. Jade Phoenix 3: No new content this week. for the reasons provided above.
It was an annoying week, but battling through and back on track. It occurs to me that I never really spent time speaking about how I write the two books or how I view writing them. I don't really want to dig into how the sausage is made, but I do want to call out one thing that might be interesting to some of you.

These are two very different books, obviously. Specifically from an author's perspective, the there are two big differences. The most prominent is the difference in POV. Invasion is 1st person present tense while JP is 3rd person past tense. Those are two very different things to write and I have to be super cognizant of not being in the wrong POV while I write them.
The second difference is the "tone" or "voice" of the story. Again, it's obvious to say, but Vic and Yu are entirely different people. While it is easy to say and see, it is far from simple to write, especially when we have to make sure there is no unintended overlap. Thankfully, I have an awesome deep editor from Portal Books for JP to make sure I'm honest with the personalities. Hopefully when I have enough stuff to start posting again, you'll feel I at least stay in character properly.
