Book 3: Epilogue

Book 3: Epilogue

For the third time in a year the great powers had all gathered together. It was unheard of for them to all gather so often, but recent times had forced them to interact more than they had in millennia. This however, unlike the last times, was much more serious. War was on the horizon, sides were needing to be drawn, abnormalities needed to be discussed.

“Someone has left the planet, breaching every barrier. Who has broken the accords?” Chaos, the great power of The Unending Void was the one proceeding over the current meeting, its power attempting to bear down on all present.

No one admitted to interfering on the new planet, especially breaking the 1 year accord that stopped travel on and off the planet. They all believed that someone was lying though, no one would admit to doing such a thing.

“Could it have been the Fae bitch and her loyal lizard?” The King of Gods was the first to voice what they all thought yet didn’t believe.

“What interest would they have in the planet, they do not have the numbers to get involved in the war for the Nexus. Someone here did it, and we will find out who.” Chaos was certain that The Alliance wouldn’t be involved, he would have felt movement from them if there had been anyone close by to the planet from their faction.

“Do we know who left? That may help us determine who is at fault.” The All giver asked all present, seeing if anyone had a clue that she did not.

Everyone was at a loss at who had left, or they were lying to protect themselves. The punishment for breaking the accords was significant, none would own up to breaking them.

“The truth will come to light sooner or later. Punishment will be handed out accordingly when it does.”

“Let us discuss the Nexus then. As we agreed, the world shall be claimed by one of ours. All here witnessed and agreed to the contract.” The Empress stated this as fact, she also knew that it didn’t mean that their wouldn’t be a war over the planet past them having the world leader tied to her empire.

“That may be true, but we also never agreed to not fight for it after the fact. We will not let the Nexus fall into your hands, but you already knew that it would come to this. You wanted a proper war, it was always what you wanted.” The King of Gods also stated this as fact, he also wasn’t wrong.

“What good is running a faction based on wars if we didn’t have actually get to go to war? All that needs to be settled is who will side with who?”

That was the real meaning behind their meeting. Everyone knew it would come to this and there had been deals being made behind closed doors since the beginning in preparation of the true war. The moment a Nexus planet had appeared the deals had been started, but now that The Empire had won the first match alliances were being called into question and factions were reconsidering their side in the war.

Desrilla was running through the palace, having been in the midst of her own training she had been just close enough that she could make it back to the King and Queen to tell them the news. The moment the token had been used she had felt it. She sent an alert to the palace but she knew how slow these things could be, especially when the message was cryptic.

So she ran, using every skill and stat she had to make it back in time. When she got to the Queen’s chambers she requested entry immediately and then ended up having to wait a full minute before she was allowed in. When she did though she came face to face with her Queen and bowed.

“Your Majesty, it is time. He has used the token and will arrive shortly.”

“Month’s ahead of schedule too. We will go to meet him together.” As Elivasia spoke she had already contacted Shrakein and she heard the dragon roar in the distance. The time was finally here and both of them were ready for the change it would bring.

Together the two Fae walked through the palace to the predetermined spot where Shaun should appear. Moments later Shrakein appeared with them.

“Do we expect him to have encountered problems? He was determined to stay the full year on his planet.”

“We will know shortly my dear friend.”

They didn’t need to wait long, not one minute after their arrival did they feel space start to tear in front of them. Almost immediately after the young man everyone had been waiting for appeared in front of them.

“You are……”

“I am home.”

As all three of them heard Shaun speak they also witnessed a change come over him. From his back wings of pure white appeared, his features changed and rather than a human boy they were looking at the return of the long lost Nephilim.
