The moment he got the notification regarding what he got from the looting he got very confused. The webbing and meat he understood, the core though was something he had never seen or heard of before. It was even graded at basic which made him even more confused as to what exactly it was.
He took it out of his inventory immediately and when he held it in his hands he was able to identify it.
**Basic Monster Core: The core of a D grade monster obtained through looting. A monster core, the source of a monsters mana and power, has varied uses in the multiverse. These cores may be used as a crafting component, for a power source as well as many other things. This core is slightly aspected to darkness.**
He had no idea how he would be able to use this in crafting, it would take time and concentration to figure out what exactly he could do with it. The part about it being aspected to darkness was also an interesting piece of information. He wondered if that meant that it held some elemental power for darkness or if it was simply just part of what made a monster core.
He knew it would take days to figure out and experiment with different aspects of the core which he didn’t want to do without having plenty of cores to play with. Because of that he put it back in his inventory and got right back to hunting.
He was able to hunt down Arachne easily now that he knew what too look for, killing them was easy enough with his death affinity, he even tested it out with combining it with his other attack based elements.
He used his elemental summons with death, summoning a reaper looking being that looked absolutely terrifying even to him. It was practically see through but it held in its boned hand a Scythe that emitted a powerful aura of death. It was also able to float along with him when he moved but at a pace too slow for him to keep it around after testing its ability in battle.
When he managed to reach the Arachne queen he chose to test out another of his skills, his Titan’s Body, boosting himself to three times his size and becoming even more powerful than he usually was.
He tore through the Queen and all of its subjects like they were nothing, he used his sword, which grew with him as part of the skill, to slice the Arachne to pieces at a speed that even a peak D grade could not keep up with.
When the fight ended, what had taken him weeks to do before, he had managed to do in a bit over a day, most of that time spent traveling and testing his skills. When he deactivated Titan’s Body he felt slightly weakened but not too bad off. The looting was done quickly and although he didn’t get anything new but he was building a collection of things to use to craft with and experiment with later on.
He didn’t slow his pace in the dungeon after the Arachne, he aimed for the Harpy next, again receiving a core but this time expected to electricity which settled the question on aspects in cores matching with abilities that monsters had. He also got some feathers and claws for his loot which he ignored in favour of checking on any clear differences he could see between the different types of monster cores.
On average the cores were the size of marbles, the colour changed from a shadowy grey for the Arachne to a pale yellow for the Harpy, aspected to electricity. But unless he chose to dig deeper, he couldn’t see any other differences.
After killing off the Harpy he chose to rest a while. More so because his use of Titan’s Body was wearing on him and he needed to recover. He had managed to take out the Harpy and Arachne in just over two and a half days. He would need to head back now if he wanted to make the three day deadline with Eric. He chose to let him wait though, he could wait a day or so for him and it wouldn’t impact anything, him having to come back in on Peak difficulty instead of Max though was not something he wanted to do, so he continued the dungeon.
The Naga proved to be just as annoying the second time around as the first, no matter what skills he used or what elements he wielded they were just too annoying to easily kill quickly. He repeated the same process as he did the first time around though, this time instead of using magma though he gathered them all to him with earth and then when they all drew in close he sent waves of death throughout their ranks.
More cores, these aspected to sand, scales leather and meat. That was the loot he received. He forgot that loot was somewhat boring when you got the same thing over and over, still it was better than nothing. He was curious what D grade monster meat would taste like though and he made a mental note to pass some along to the school’s chefs.

It was the Wyrm he was most excited about. He wanted to see what kind of fight it would put up when he met it in the air. Its Luna attack previously was devastating, or it would have been if he got hit with it. Now with it being even stronger he was curious as to what it would throw at him. He also knew how good Wyrm leather was and was excited to get more to work with, not to mention the core which he should get from the looting as well.
He knew exactly where the beast was and didn’t hesitate to fly towards it. The cave was exactly where it had bene the first time around, although it was slightly larger than he remembered. Not bothering to go inside he hovered at the entrance and taunted it out.
“Wake up, time to fight. All the others are dead so its just us now.” Through his echo he knew it was in there. It felt stronger than it had before which he expected but it also felt different in a way the other Wyrm he fought didn’t.
As the Wyrm started to move inside he backed up a bit, cautious that it could attack him with its Luna beam from inside. When he started to see its head come out form the cave and then its body he was confused. It wasn’t a Luna Wyrm.
**Arctic Wyrm – Level ???**
“You are not what I was expecting.” It didn’t even bother replying to him, rather it shot a beam of what he assumed to be some off shoot of his ice affinity at him. He didn’t bother moving and instead used his own ice affinity to stop the attack and push it off to the side. “I was hoping for the Luna Wyrm.”
He had no idea why the dungeon changed up the type of beast, unless it had to do with the different difficulty level he entered at he could only assume that they Wyrm type may occur at random.
He knew Arctic was a description used in relation to ice, his own summons had arctic in their name. He had hoped for Luna as it was an element he had never played around with before, Arctic was just too similar to what he already had.
“Alright, we can just end it then.” The moment the Wyrm took to the sky on its wings he sent forth a blast of concentrated death energy right at its body. The death affinity didn’t leave an obvious physical mark when used by itself, rather it was very effective at infusing a monsters body with death, draining it of its ability to live. He had to use a good amount of it on the Wyrm but it took only a few moments for it to start to fall to the ground.
He didn’t want the body to get destroyed in the landing so he pulled it tight with air and slowed its decent to the ground. It was still heavy though and he was only able to marginally reduce the damage to its now very dead body.

He rushed to loot the body, not wanting to leave behind the precious loot. As expected he got the core at basic grade again, the Wyrm leather and Wyrm meat. It had taken a bit over 4 days to complete the dungeon and he thought that it was a great time. It wasn’t done in the three days he wanted but it was much better than the weeks it had taken the first time.
When he was ejected form the dungeon he found himself in the now completed castle. He had fashioned this dungeon at the end of a large room that led out towards the lower levels of the castle meaning he had to now work his way up to the main room to get to the settlement crystal. That was until he got another message that he had forgotten about
**Calculating dungeon reward grade**
Party fully cleared the dungeon of monsters. Adjusting reward grade.
No members of the party died during completion of dungeon. Adjusting reward grade.
Dungeon completed solo. Adjusting reward grade.
Dungeon completed in less than 1 week. Adjusting reward grade.
Dungeon reward grade: S
**Distributing reward at S level**
**Winveral Gel rewarded**
**Winveral Gel: A gel which can be applied to some materials to bring out the true power locked within. Can be used on any material to varying effects.**
He was a little disappointed in the reward considering it should have been S grade. Unlocking a material true power was kind of boring. He wouldn’t really know until he used it and for all he knew it could be incredible.
Taking out the stone he contacted Eric to let him know he was coming to pick him up. The reply back was not to worry, they had gotten tired of waiting so had come here themselves a little while ago. Using his echo he found them on the higher levels and made his way to them.
The castle was decently easy to navigate and as he expected it was beautiful, light and somewhat grand. It was eerily empty at the moment but he could easily imagine the halls filed with people once Eric moved the school in.
When he found Eric and Gabe he saw them on one of the large balconies that pushed out from one of the main training areas. The balcony, if he could really call it that, was large enough to accommodate 100 people easily and was high enough up on the castle that if you looked out you got a breathtaking view of the mountains and settlement.
“So what do you think?” He walked up to stand beside both of them before he asked, both of them stood looking out over the world in front of them.
“It incredible. Better than I expected. Beautiful even.” Eric turned to him and when he finally got a look at his face he looked relaxed, a look he hadn’t seen in a while. “I think everyone will be very happy here.”
