The Corpse Cultivator
Ch 12: Stable Boy

Ch 12: Stable Boy

Lu Shimming walked through the hallway with a heavy face. As he came up the stairs, to the next floor, he found himself in what seemed to be a prison. There were cells on both sides of the hallway as he walked through the floor. He couldn’t help but frown when he noticed that the cells weren’t used to store the living.

He could see corpses inside walking around, banging their heads onto the wall, while some bit one another. It was one messy scene. It seemed they were some kind of failed research subject.

“This is gruesome..” He really didn’t know what to say when he saw a corpse bite onto another, and pull out its intestine.

“Thank god they are locked inside..” He felt a bit relieved, not knowing that he had just raised a flag for himself in doing so.

“Grrr!!”

A noise suddenly entered his ear, and he slowly raised his head to see what seemed to be half a skeleton and half a zombie standing at the exit of the hall.

“Scree!!!” The zombie let out a screech as it realized Lu Shimming’s presence, and immediately dashed towards him without any thought.

“Shit!”

Watching that thing run towards him, surely made him freak out for a second. It was his first time facing such an opponent after all. In that moment, of carelessness, the half zombie tackled him onto the ground.

“Bang!”

“Bang!”

Mounting up on him, it started to rain down punches on Lu Shimming.

“Huh..” After taking a few dozens of punches, Lu Shimming’s face was covered in blood, his skin torn here, and there. But, he barely felt any pain, it just felt as if an ant was stinging him with each punch.

“Grip!”

He suddenly grabbed onto the zombie's fist, and smiled, “It's time we switch over.”

With a lightning speed, he pulled its hand to the side, and rolled around at the same time managing to switch positions with it.

“Die!”

Raising both his hands in the air to form an axe, he struck down on its head.

“Bang!”

The head of the zombie immediately exploded, letting a gooey brain matter out, and filling the air with a disgusting stench.

“That was easier than I thought..” Lu Shimming breathed in relief as he stood up, but next instant his step faltered a bit, and he realized that his leg was wounded by the claws of the Zombie as it took him down..

“Even though I can’t feel pain, the body surely isn’t immortal I guess..”

Shaking his head, he walked up toward the door and opened it.

“Finally..”

A smile leaked on his face, as bright sunlight entered his only eye left, though he could oddly see from both of them. As he walked out of the place, he realized that it seemed to be an old unused warehouse, with a hidden basement meant for the evil works of those heretics.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

The place was surrounded by greenery all around, it definitely seemed like a place which had been abandoned for a while. But, he didn’t stay longer to ponder over the matter, he knew that those Evil Cultivators could return anytime.

Hence, he swiftly left the place without any delay.

Fifteen minutes later..

A figure arrived at the abandoned warehouse in a hurry, exuding a heavy Qi fluctuation from his body. It seemed he had used all his might to rush up to the place.

It was Wu Shuang.

He had come rushing here after he felt his connection with his summon cut off. He really valued half zombie as it was his first successful subject, he had even killed the person with his own two hands just to bring him back.

It might have sounded twisted, but he believed he was a professional.

Wu Shuang entered the warehouse to examine the situation.

A minute passed before a series of screams sounded out from the warehouse.

“No!!!!”

“It's gone!!!”

“Where the hell am I?” Lu Shimming wandered aimlessly around the forest, trying to find his way out. He had perfectly covered himself with bandages, hiding his hollow eye, and right boney arm.

Suddenly, a noise seemed to enter his ears. It was a carriage being drawn by the horses.

He immediately quickened his pace, and found himself coming out onto a dirt road which seemed to be going towards some place.

At this moment, the horse carriage finally seemed to enter his vision.

“Young Master, there is a person ahead..” The carriage driver reported with a frown, as he slowed the carriage down, and the two guards who were accompanying the carriage on horse came forward.

Lu Shimming cupped his fist, and bowed to them, “Sir, I seemed to have lost my way around the place. Could you guide me on the path to the city?”

“Lost your path?” The guard frowned as he stared at him, “This is the Wu Estate, I don’t think you can lose your path in here unless you entered through the main gates of our clan.”

Lu Shimming’s face twitched. It turned out the goddamn forest was nothing but some backyard for them. Just where in hell did he end up.

“I am afraid you have trespassed into our territory. Will you mind accompanying us to some questions..” The other guard spoke as Lu Shimming felt a Qi fluctuation, and an invisible pressure starting to build up on him.

“Aren’t you being too hard on him?” A voice sounded from inside the carriage, and the next instant, a person seemingly around 16 or 17 years of age peeked out of the carriage. It was a guy with long green hair, and one could feel a chivalrous aura coming from him.

“But, Young Master this person here-”

“Guard Wang, can’t you tell that he has got no cultivation? And, look at his state, do you really think he has the ability to trespass?” The boy spoke as he slowly got down from the carriage, while carrying his sword.

As the two of them got closer, and their eyes met, time seemed to freeze for a second.

Lu Shimming suddenly had a vision of swords raining down from the sky. It was only for an instant, before everything seemed to disappear as if nothing had ever happened.

This guy..he is bad news..

The guy on the other hand seemed to be gazing at Lu Shimming in a similar manner before snapping out of it. “I apologize..I lost my focus there for a bit..”

“I am Wu Feng..” He further introduced himself with a smile while assessing Lu Shimming.

“I am Shi Ming..” Lu Shimming replied after a slight pause. He didn’t feel like having any kind of connection with this guy. Hence, he used a fake name.

“How did you end up here in this nowhere of a place?” Wu Feng further asked, with a curious look on his face.

“Young Master, I came from the east…” Lu Shimming pointed in the direction.

“Ridiculous, the Red River lies to the east…” The guard sneered, feeling even more suspicious about him.

“I know, Sir.” Lu Shimming had already seen the river a while earlier, and was prepared to answer, “I actually came through the river. I am just a normal Stable boy, but my Master’s Mansion was attacked by bandits one night. In the end, I was forced to jump into the river and ended up here..”

“Guard Wang, let's take him along with us. Didn’t you say we needed a stable boy?” Wu Feng smiled with a cheerful look on his face.

‘F*ck!’ Lu Shimming almost choked on his breath. That wasn’t what he had in his mind.
