Ch 11: Escape

On the other side, the guy closed the coffin, and turned to face the man in black cloak.

“Does this seem sufficient for me to join the Cult?” He asked in anticipation.

“Young Master Wu, you have really shown your dedication. But, the Blood cult is not an easy place to survive.” The hooded figure shook his head, “If you join now, you will be nothing but the dirt of the feet there. At least raise that Corpse, it can turn into a Ghoul..”

“Ghoul?!!” The man couldn’t help but draw a breath in, with shock covering all over his face. Never in his wildest dream had he imagined, this thing would be so valuable.

“If you raise it properly, it won’t be difficult for you to gain a strong position in the clan. The cult will surely give you some value then.” The man in black hood slowly turned around to leave as he took out a medallion along with a book seemingly made from the skin of a human. An ominous aura could be felt from it.

“Record of Corpse Cultivation!” The guy’s eyes shone with a fierce light, as he carefully held the book in his hands. He had dreamt of acquiring it for so long, and now he finally had it.

As for the medallion, he couldn’t help but look at the hooded man in confusion.

”It is the Medallion of Recommendation. As long as you have it, you will be able to enter the sect after going through the Tower of Slaughter.” The man explained before looking at him with a slight chill in his eyes, “I will be back in a week to check. Do not disappoint me.”

Wu Shuang immediately felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked at him. He nodded his head in return, and carefully kept the book and medallion in the cupboard which seemed to keep all his heretical stuff.

With that, the two of them slowly left the dungeon, and the entrance once again disappeared into the wall as if it never existed.

“Blood Cult?” Lu Shimming’s figure slowly rose up from the table, as he muttered to himself. It seemed he had really ended up in some goddamn terrible place.

He didn’t know much about the Blood cult. But, had heard about it from his Master once. It was an Evil force which had dominated the land of Myriad Continent once, but it was a thing of the past now. Most people had forgotten about them, and the younger generation probably didn’t even know about it.

Shaking his head, Lu Shimming pushed the thoughts of the Blood Cult away for now. His first priority was to get away from here, and of course take Jin Ho’s body with him.

With that thought in mind, he pushed open the lid, and that revealed Jin Ho’s body inside.

A white flame seemed to light up in Lu Shimming’s pupil, and the next instant thought occurred to him.

‘Is it possible..?’

“Whoosh!”

As if responding to this thought, a translucent white wisp appeared in front of him.

Those words lit up on the Nirvana Tablet.

“No! What am I thinking!” Lu Shimming shook his head, and Jin Ho’s soul disappeared.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

He then looked at the body in the coffin, and remembered one of the authority that he had been granted in the Dream land.

“Whoosh!”

A portal seemed to appear around Jin Ho’s body as he slowly sank into it, and disappeared into nothingness. At the same time, a new row appeared on the Nirvana Tablet.

[Corpse: 1]

‘That worked well..’

But, it wasn’t something to be happy about.

“Let's get going..” As Lu Shimming turned toward the exit, his eyes suddenly landed on the cupboard. He obviously couldn’t go out in the naked state, not to mention his body was missing flesh at several places.

Especially around his chest area.

“Please, even scrap clothes would do..”He opened the cupboard and began to look around.

As long as he could get a pair of clothes, it would be helpful as the only visible part that could cause him a problem would be his right arm, and left eye then, and rest would be covered.

“This is better than I thought..” A smile leaked out on his face, when he not only found a pair of fresh clothes, but bandages and sewing needles. Of course, there were also other ominous items which were probably being used to dissect people, but he wasn’t keen on taking them.

As Lu Shimming was about to leave, his eyes suddenly fell onto a book.

The Records of Corpse Cultivation!

“I can’t let that guy have it. It will be safer for me..”

He took the Book made of human skin along with the medallion kept beside it.. He felt a bit disgusted but pledged to destroy it once he was out. He then went towards the wall where the exit was.

“Found it!”

He had seen the man activating the hidden mechanism, and remembered it. Now it was time to get out.

“Grr!!”

The door slowly opened, and a stairway appeared in front of him.

Wu Clan, Red City.

“What thoughts are you lost in, Wu Shuang?” A voice sounded out in the grand hall, drawing everyone’s attention.

”Huh?” Wu Shuang immediately came back to his senses, as he looked at his Uncle shouting at him.

“You have been given the responsibility to look after the shops, yet from the past year, our revenue has been falling. What good of a use are you for? Can’t even cultivate, nor can you manage the business!”

Wu Shuang clenched his fist in anger, but he couldn’t do anything with his given capabilities. Not to mention, his Grandfather, the Patriarch of the Clan, was presiding over the meeting.

“Uncle, the Chen clan has been aggressively eating our market share. We need more funding to hire better Refiners, and Alchemist..” He argued back while maintaining his tone.

“Excuses! We already provide you with enough funds,” Uncle Wu frowned before turning to look towards the old man who was presiding over the meeting. “Father, I believe we should carry out an inspection of accounts..”

Wu Shuang’s face turned grim upon hearing that. It was true, he had indeed embezzled money to fund his evil research and cultivation. If an inspection was carried out, he would really be in deep trouble.

“My father would be very happy if he heard all of this..” He immediately brought out his trump card. His father and mother had actually passed away. They were injured gravely on a mission, and only his mother managed to return back to the family with Wu Shuang in her belly.

But she too passed away after giving birth to him. The Patriarch, hence, really loved the child and had doted on him a lot even though he wasn’t a cultivation prodigy.

“Here we go again, playing the emotional card..” Uncle Wu glared at Wu Shuang, it wasn’t the first time something like this was happening.

“Enough..” The Patriarch who was sitting on the main seat of the hall finally intervened, “This ends here. We will assess the shop’s performance at the end of the year. If it isn’t satisfying, we will make a decision then.”

‘End of the year..’ Wu Shuang breathed in relief, he didn’t need to wait till the end of year to achieve his goal. It was closer than ever to him.

At this moment, he had no idea that his goals were about to be messed up for a long time.
