Chapter 41 - New Truths, Old Ghosts

[Arthur Leywin POV]

After meeting with the royal families, my brother and I ended up having to speak out about Lucas Wykes' crimes. We now knew who his brother was, but still, we showed no fear about it. In fact, all that judgment was in Kaspian's control, who managed to change the situation so that Lucas lost his license while my brother and I were expelled from Xyrus, but without the blond noble knowing our name.

It was mildly hilarious when, with just a tiny drop of Luz's Bloodlust, Lucas ended up passing out at the end of the trial. Not even the judges understood that, as it was a tiny amount, but I think the trauma my brother did to that brat was now triggered whenever he felt that bloodlust.

With the trial over, we were taken to an exit at the back of the room, where we could exit the guild. Walking outside, we saw a path with bushes and some people watching us in the background.

"Must be to confirm that 'Diamond and Note' are out" My brother whispered to me and I accepted the idea.

We went with full speed forward, moving further and further away from that part, until we arrived in a half-open field, but surrounded by several dense trees. There were Kaspian Bladeheart and his niece waiting for us.

"So. Now you, as adventurers, can no longer enter the main guild building because it is inside Xyrus.. What a boring situation. Isn't it?" Kaspian said, giving a slight smile.

"At least it's better than revealing our identity to that brat. Good job." Luz said watching Kaspian.

"I really couldn't let my niece's mentor be in danger. But what about the deal with the royal families?" Kaspian asked.

"Well, we didn't, but at least we managed to send some sort of message so the Eralith family would know who we are without Blaine noticing." I spoke, snapping my fingers a little.

"That's good..." Claire said approaching Luz. "But well, you have to reveal your identities now."

"Hmm..?" I was confused for a moment.

"Well, I said I want to help you guys, but for that, it would be good for me to know about you too... As we are in this crazy situation and such. But relax, your information will be well guarded, only me, Claire, and very few employees will have access to it." Kaspian spoke looking at me a little.

"Fine. I can understand and I approve of this idea, but how about we make a mini game. You're going to tell us who you think we are, it can be a trait, or guess a name." I said with a slight laugh.

"Ooh! If so... I think you two are around 18 to 25 years old. You're both smaller than me, having a height problem in both your families, and you're both not brothers, you just consider each other. " Claire spoke what she thought of us

"Hmm from the things Luz knows how to do, both are human, and the age I can't tell since it's noticeable that both wear masks that model the voice. But in the case of family, I would say you must be people connected to the Leywins, due to you having Jasmine always by your side and the other Twin Horns also interacting with you both when you were in the guild." Kaspian gave his answer, I wasn't too surprised since he's the leader of a guild, but still, it was scary how close he got.

"Hmmm Diamond, did you activate the Illusion shield?" I asked looking at my brother.

"Note, I had activated that shield the exact moment we walked in here, people around just see a gray blur covering everything and can't even hear our voices." He answered me and I laughed.

With everything confirmed, Luz and I lowered our hoods and removed our masks. The expressions of the two Bladeheart members went from curiosity to complete shock as they noticed our childlike features.

"W-wait, what do you mean?..Children?....Children defeated an S-Class mana beast...And terrorized nobles?" Kaspian said that in complete shock.

"...Master Diamond.. Are you younger than me...?" Claire was saying to my brother, not wanting to believe it.

"Well, Kaspian, you were right about us being connected to the Leywin family." I said with a slight laugh.

"Claire, you're right about the fact that we're not real brothers... But still, I'm my friend's adopted brother here." Luz said with a light laugh too. "And as for my age, I'm twelve, my brother is eleven. As for my name, I'm Luz Leywin."

"And my name is Arthur Leywin. We are the children of Reynolds and Alice Leywin." I spoke right away.

The two of them kept staring at us as if they were seeing something abnormal, and well, clearly that was all abnormal. We couldn't blame them for acting like that.

"Well, anyway, we're still the great masked adventurers. So don't worry." Luz laughed a little more at their reaction.

"I hope it doesn't change the way you see us all that much." I spoke and Sylvie soon came out of my cloak and lay on top of my head.

"O-okay... Uh.. But how come.. You guys are so..."

"Strong?" Luz completed what Claire was trying to ask. "Well, you can try to figure that out later, after all, we're going to Xyrus Academy next year."

Both were still a little paralyzed by the whole situation, but Kaspian comes out of it when he realizes something. "Wait, but Lucas Wykes will be there!"

"I know, but we didn't even know about Lucas and stuff like that. This turned out to be an unfortunate coincidence. And the advantage of Claire knowing about us is that she keeps an eye on us so we don't cause chaos~" Luz said while winking in Claire's direction, who blushes slightly and bows.

"Protect Master Diamond and his brother from getting close to Lucas! Got it!" She spoke in a strong voice.

"Umm.. You can use our real names, Claire…" I tried to ask her.

"Relax, she'll get used to it by the time we're at Xyrus Academy." my brother said looking at Claire. "Will not?"

"But of course I will! Do you think I am what?" she exclaimed.

"My disciple who always tries to find ways to cheat and go to easier paths during training. When I'm there I'll try my best to get you back on track!" he exclaimed.

"Wait, you saying like that means you won't be acting like adventurers for now?" Kaspian asked.

"No, we had the idea of now taking advantage of this to go home and lessen any form of suspicion that people might have." I said.

"That and we made a slight deal with one of our companions, Elijah Knight, that we would help him try to get into Xyrus Academy. As I understand it, he has a minimal goal of being someone minimally famous. So we need to prepare him." Luz continued, giving us more reason to stop our adventuring career for now.

"Hmmm.. I see. Okay! But if I need you can I call you through Jasmine or one of the Twin Horns?" Kaspian asked.

"Of course, but only for extreme things where you think that no matter how many people are there, they need me or Arthur." my brother answered him, Kaspian seemed to agree with that.

"Okay, let's go then, Luz will use his sound magic to create an illusion bubble, so we can go to Xyrus City without fear of being followed." I said taking a sigh of relief.

"Yeah, I asked Jasmine and Elijah to wait for us there. And anyway, Claire, I hope to see a big improvement in your techniques when I meet you at school." Luz raised her hands to shake Claire's hand, but she hugged him instead.

"I hope you bring some cupcakes with you!!!" She said excitedly and soon we parted from them, heading towards the Xyrus portal.

"What was she talking about?" I asked Luz as I walked and changed clothes at the same time, since we were inside an illusory barrier.

"Oh! That? It's just that I gave her a dessert I learned to make in another world I've been to, and she apparently got addicted.. But it's no big deal, just a hot petit gateau with ice cream." He said about it and I was curious.

"One more thing that exists in my old world... You didn't really come from Earth?" I asked curiously as I finished putting on my regular clothes.

"Well, there were times when I entered worlds with different names, like Exodus, Nexus, Mobius, Moebius, Zebes, Tallon, Sauria, Lyllat... Oh wait! There were some Earths between these worlds. Maybe I've been to alternate versions .Still curious about something?" Luz said all those things, and then I take a deep breath.

"Forget it, we'd better not get into that subject now, maybe later.. But wow... It was just you talking about these things that I didn't feel like talking anymore." My brother laughed at my comment.

He was soon also changing clothes as we walked and now we were in plain, civilian uniforms. The barrier was undone and we walked to Jasmine and Elijah nearby, so that it looked like we were now near the Guild to visit some people.

"Yoo! Jasmine!" I waved my hands to maintain that cover and then she approached us with Elijah.

"Wow, what fancy clothes, no?" the Four-Eyes said looking at Luz, who was wearing a dark cyan uniform, with golden ribbons and brown pants.

"It's not my fault that our Aunt Tabitha always gives me clothes like that... Anyway, let's go." my brother said slightly embarrassed by the only common clothes he had inside his dimensional ring.

"Um.. Who?" Elijah was confused.

"It's Vincent Helstea's wife, the owner of the place you're staying." I replied to him and then we were walking towards Xyrus.

Passing through the portal, we took a carriage and arrived at Helstea Manor. Before I knocked on the door, I heard a familiar voice leap up behind me, knocking me to the floor.

"AH!" I exclaimed as I turned around and saw my little sister hugging me tight while I was still on the floor. I looked a little towards the entrance of the place, and saw my mother, Aunt Tabitha and Lilia approaching us.

"A-Arthur?! L-Luz!?!" My mother exclaimed as she ran towards us, ending up inadvertently knocking my brother over and now the four of us were on the floor, with our mother and sister squeezing us tightly.

"G-ghaaaa! Air! I need air to breathe!!!" My brother was begging for help as Elijah started to laugh at the situation that came so much out of nowhere.

----------------------------------------

It took some time, but soon my mother calmed down a bit, we were sitting on the armchairs and sofa in the living room. Me, Luz and Lilia on the same sofa, while Alice, Tabitha and Jasmine were on another sofa, Elijah was the only one sitting in a singular armchair, with a completely neutral face.

"So... Let me get this straight... The reason the security ring alerted both of your colors... Is it because you both passed out after a hard fight using an absurd amount of mana? Is it just... That?" my mother said slowly so that she herself would understand the situation.

"Yes, exactly that. We were thinking more about helping as many people as possible than how much energy would flow through us." I responded with a slight smile.

Apparently, the rings we got for our birthdays, the same ones that alerted us if our mana stopped flowing, were activated during our fight against the elderwood guardian. Luz's alerted at the moment that his arms self-destructed and rebuilt during his Second Phase. And mine alerted after the fight, when I passed out from the backslash pain of my Dragon's Awakening.

We wanted to lie about what happened, but the best we could manage was to leave some details out, we told her about a powerful mana beast that was never supposed to be in the dungeon, and that we were attacked by mana beasts that came through the walls during the fight against the dungeon's boss. It was better this way than for her to know we were enemies of a member of a great noble family.

"Oh my god, what a tense situation... It's good that you guys got here as fast as you could, we were kind of desperate when the ring started beeping, I mean, Reynolds immediately ran to the Guild without waiting to see if it was a quick alarm, while Vincent tried to stop him so there would be no problems or end up revealing your identities." Tabitha said in a heavy voice, looking straight at us.

"As our father once said, 'during adventures, there is always some hidden problem'... This is normal to happen... But... I promise it will never happen again." Luz said while patting Lilia's head, she was hugging his arm tightly, not having him let go for a moment since we entered the house.

Soon that situation was slightly broken with a cough coming from Elijah. "uh... Sorry to intrude on the conversation, but I feel a little weird for not being able to introduce myself properly..."

"O-oh! Sorry, we were actually a little out of our minds from the shock." my mother spoke sweetly and apologetically.

"No problem... Swordy and Planty really are special." When Elijah used those nicknames, everyone was confused as we just gave a light, weak laugh at the same time.

"Well, my name is Elijah Knight. I am one of the adventurers who was with them during this last dungeon, and I also participated in a temporary party for beginners that they organized. It is a great pleasure to meet their mother and the wife of the owner of this residence." he said in a very polite way as he stood up and bowed.

"Oh! I think Luz told us about you on the first visit. Thank you so much for being with them. Even though they already had Jasmine as their guardian, it was nice to know that they interacted with people their age." she bowed to Elijah as well.

"Hm, Elijah, before all that, you said you wanted to talk to my husband to see if you could stay here.... Luz, Arthur, can you explain this situation to me?" Tabitha ended up looking straight into our eyes.

"Well, it's just that he's an orphan who was adopted by people from Darv Kingdom. And they recommended him to look for a way to get a name within Sapin. So we wanted to help him in a way that was even easier to understand. Putting him in Xyrus Academy with us." I spoke calmly.

"Yes, he is skilled enough for us to know that Director Cynthia Goodsky would accept him, but he still needs academic knowledge to refine other aspects." Luz added to my comment.

"You know that Vincent, even though he's a nice guy, he wants some advantage out of the situation, don't you?" she asked us.

"Of course, as his goal is to be named a noble or to be famous, if he achieves that dream, it will help the Helstea family to grow. Besides, you are already getting some benefits from our current and future contacts." Luz answered her.

"Okay, Elijah, you can leave your stuff in the boys' room. You'll talk to Vincent better when he arrives, and don't forget to emphasize your goals and abilities." Tabitha spoke and Elijah smiled, nodding.

"Me and the girls will be hanging around here for some tea to... Celebrate your arrival. Would you like some?" She continued talking, watching the three of us get up.... Luz was the one who had the most trouble getting up because of Lilia.

"We don't want to, thanks... I think we'd better get some rest." Luz said while looking at Lilia. "Can you... at least let me get some rest, Lily?" she soon finally lets go of him and goes to her mother.

We took Elijah to our room and closed the door, the place was as tidy as the first time we entered, the difference being that there were some clothes hanging in the closet that was open there. I sat on the edge of the bed, looking at Elijah and Luz.

Elijah decided to go shower first, as we were all really dirty still from Dire Tombs. After him, Luz went into the bathroom, and after that it was my turn. Because Elijah didn't have a clean change of clothes in his bag, we ended up borrowing one of Luz's clothes, as they fit him better than mine.

"I really needed this shower... Really, it was very refreshing." Elijah said, wiping his glasses with a cloth.

"I totally agree, a shower after such an adventure is always perfect." Luz and Elijah were highfiveing.

"Oh... I just want to rest... Seriously, how about we sleep while we wait for my dad and Vince to arrive?" I said, throwing myself on one side of the big bed we had there.

"Hmm.. I don't feel like sleeping.. Luz, can we talk about that thing?" Elijah said as I lay with my head on the pillow, I was really sleepy, but because he mentioned that strange incident of Luz being a agressive sleepwalker, I just was lying in the bed, just listening.

"Hm. Sure! You can talk. I'm really curious about what it was about, I don't remember anything thar happened in the time." I heard Luz's voice kind of silly, as if he wanted to forget about the fight we had and focus on something else.

"Well, you kept asking me weird things... In fact, I think you even thought I was someone else, I don't know.." our nerd said in a weak voice.

"Hm. Alright, so let's start with the questions. What did I ask you?" Luz's voice showed curiosity.

"You kept asking and saying things like... 'why did you abandon me?', 'why didn't you help me?', 'you just treated me like an empty body.', 'you're like my father', and stuff like that... Who do you think you were talking about?"

I was confused by the things Elijah was saying, it was strange, from my perspective, the situation was so fast, there was no way Luz could say all that in that short period of time, still, I kept lying down pretending I was sleeping. To convince a little, I fake a light snore. Making them both laugh.

"My goodness, I never realized he snored before." Elijah said.

"Yeah, he always snores when he's in a comfortable bed, I see we're going to have to use mana to wake him up for dinner." my brother said laughing at me.

"Wait a minute, I snore and I didn't even know it?" I thought to myself, but soon returned to listen their conversation.

They kept talking about the situation, apparently my brother was trying to find out who he might be talking about while he was passed out after the boss fight, it took a little talking time, around ten minutes, until my brother gave up to try to guess.

"Okay okay, from the stuff we've been talking about in regards to this whole craziness, I'm not at all sure who I was thinking you were. What was the name you heard me calling you?" Luz said defeated by this confusion with that.

"I think you called me Ico... Lico... Pico?... Hmmm. Ah! It was Nico, you called me by that name... seriously who is Nico?"

When Elijah started listing the names, I felt like my heart had stopped, but when he said the name he thought he was most sure of, my eyes suddenly opened and I stared at the wall on that side of the room. My entire body seemed to freeze as my bones shook a little and my heart felt heavier and heavier. I wouldn't believe I'd hear that name again.

"Calm down, Arthur... It could be another Nico, after all, Luz said he's been in other versions of countless realities... Isn't it...?" I thought to myself, wanting to believe all the other alternatives but one.

The alternative I didn't want to believe was that the Nico they mentioned was Nico Sever... My best friend from my old life, from the life before I gave my name to be Arthur, from the life where my name was Grey.

Flashbacks began to pop into my mind as I stared at the wall. I could vividly remember the orphanage I lived in, alone, with only the owner of the place as a mother figure, and Nico was there, being my friend, the person I could count on the most. The person I saw as my brother.

We were an inseparable duo, I was the strength and he was the intelligence. He was always creating equipment for me, which helped with my techniques as I was a person with a small amount of Ki, much less than usual. In return I tested his inventions and always protected him from any situations that we got into danger.

But soon those good memories were being mixed up in bad, bad memories of when I closed myself off from everything to achieve my goals and ended up hurting his feelings, for the last time I saw him, he was just a lifeless corpse.

I clutched tightly to the pillow I had in my hand as I took a long breath, keeping my eyes closed wishing it wasn't really this Nico. Why was Nico here? Why did the name Nico have to come up? Why?

I felt something approaching me and I opened my eyes to see my brother and my new friend looking at me, Elijah looked confused as Luz seemed to help me sit up.

"Arthur... Is everything okay?" Elijah said with a worried look.

"Why the worry. I'm just sleepy." I said, faking a yawn, the sleep I had before was gone with the return of those bad memories.

"Uh.. Really? Then why are you crying?" When Elijah said that I touched my face and looked at the pillow, it was all wet with tears, and from my face is a little wet, it was easy to deduce that they were mine.

"I cried without even realizing it...? I think I got too much inside my mind..." I ended up saying quietly.

We were silent for a few seconds, I straightened up on the bed, while Elijah sat next to me and my brother was still in front of me, standing next to the bed.

"It has something to do with this… Nico, isn't it?" Luz said that out of nowhere, and my eyes widened for a moment, but I shook my head, denying the question.

"Really?... You turned 100% blue when we mentioned that name in conversation." He said that, me and Elijah ended up getting confused.

"Ah... Well... I'll explain properly, because Elijah doesn't know anything about it. I have an ability that allows me to see emotion, psychological state, and things like that. Arthur instantly went from Gray which is neutral, to Blue, which is unhappiness, heartbreak, agony... instantly." With my brother's explanation, Elijah seemed to understand and I took a deep breath.

"My 'nemesis' is my brother apparently... I can never hide things like that with him around." I thought with a low chuckle to myself.

"I don't understand.. Luz called me by that name, neither he nor I know who this person is, but you're the only one of us who reacted. Do you know him? I mean, if you feel that bad just hearing the name, no need to say." Elijah spoke as he adjusted his glasses.

I hesitated to look at my new roommate when he asked about it, it was so weird it all came back, and if Luz really doesn't know who Nico is, why did he say that name looking at Elijah? Why.....?

"Arthur.. You can talk to him, he's one of us." my foster brother ended up saying that, again Elijah and I were equally confused.

"I'm not going to speak directly, because whenever I did, it ended up ugly. So I'm going to speak in a way that both of you will listen and think... Arthur, you and I have something in common. Something pretty crazy in common.. And I'm telling you, Elijah is just like us." Luz spoke in a slow way, it even irritated me, it was as if he treated me like a child, even that I 'am' a child... Wait a minute....

"You're not saying that...." I looked at Luz and he seemed to agree with what I was going to say, but then he looked at our new colleague who still didn't quite understand.

"What are we talking about?" Elijah said showing clear confusion.

"Elijah... Do you believe in the afterlife?"

This question from my brother was pretty bizarre, in the current situation, but I didn't complain about his methods of talking about it, waiting for the reaction of the boy with the glasses. that tilted his head while answering

"It depends... I mean, there are so many forms of magic, something like the afterlife would be pretty serious and insane... But as a theoretical measure, if we review the existence of insane things that I've seen with you, like a dragon ... A quad-elemental.... A human who uses plant power.... I'd say it's possible... But why this question?"

"What if I say... That there is a chance that... After death... Depending on powerful magic rituals, or the willpower of your soul... There is a chance that you will be reborn in a completely different world. ..an alternate world..." Elijah raised an eyebrow at the things my brother said.

"Well... I would say this is crazy, but I would also find something quite interesting. A ritual that makes someone reborn must be something very powerful. I mean... Imagine the backslash involving that... But I still don't get it. what do you mean." Elijah was saying this as he crossed his arms.

"I am a reincarnated." Luz said it very directly, and our colleague started to laugh a lot.

"Hahaha! What?! Is this serious? Did you create all this atmosphere and then say something crazy like that?" He continued to laugh, not taking it too seriously, but he later seems to notice the expressionless face that my brother and I also made.

"T-this is a silly, crazy joke... Did you know? I think you guys are still affected by the fight in Dire Tombs." He continued to say, sounding scared.

"Arthur... is also a reincarnated... and... so are you." Luz said that making Elijah's face go serious as he stared at my brother.

Was I also shocked by that, Elijah being a reincarnated? My brother had never talked about this to me before, but then I started to think... Had Elijah said before that he didn't know about his own childhood? Maybe it was an excuse to never ask about the past? No... He cried and was serious about not remembering, I could feel it.

"Really. This joke is already losing its fun, are you really crazy?" He asked a little more seriously.

"No. I'm not. I can see Arthur's essence, he has the same thing as mine, related to the fact that this is not our first life... You have that too... But yours is a little more transparent than it should be... That's why just nowadays I noticed..." When Luz said that, I had an idea.

"More transparent than ours? Maybe it has something to do with lack of memory or amnesia?" I was surprised when Luz looked at me and nodded about what I said.

"Wait.. Amnesia? Arthur, are you telling me that I'm really reborn, but I don't remember anything?" Elijah said staring at me.

"No, it was Luz who said that, I just remembered about what you said....you told me that you don't remember your childhood, and that you had weird flashes of situations that you swear you never lived.... Isn't any chance they could have happened, but not in this world?" I said that, feeling my heart tighten even more.

"A-aaaah!" suddenly Elijah seemed to moan in pain and put his hands on his head.

"H-hey! Calm down. Take a deep breath! And don't try to force those flashes, okay? There's a chance when you do that, you'll forget both lives and have complete amnesia... Look at me, and think about the PRESENT." Luz said while helping him, slowly our colleague starts breathing normally again.

Elijah was sweating quite coldly as he shifted his gaze between me and my brother. "Geez, I can't believe it... I mean, I didn't want to believe it... But I feel like... This was the truth... Oh my god, what am I?"

"You're a guy who's been with us, being our roommate. I told you, focus on the present." My brother said it again, gripping Elijah's right shoulder tightly.

"Okay.... But now the question is... Why did you say that name, Luz?" I asked him.

"I don't know, you were the only one to react to that name, talk about who this Nico is. I can understand that it has something to do with your past life and that's why I had to talk about this information that I had. The three of us are reincarnated, we can talk about these things openly between us." He said looking deep into my eyes, as if he knew I was thinking about ignoring that and not talking. It was like he didn't want me to be like that, as if he had already been through the same and knew the feeling.

"Okay, since Elijah is here, I'll summarize it more simply... Nico was a friend of mine, me, him and a girl were an amazing trio.... Turns out I walked away from them to train for a long time, they ended up getting married... There was an accident and... Getting ahead for the actual problem, they both died, at different times, but I saw them dying. The Girl died in my arms wanting to be killed... While I dont know how exactly Nico died, but I know that his last words I heard coming out of his mouth were about how much he hated me." I said, still wanting to keep as much information as possible.

"So... Let me see the whole situation right now... Before my mind explodes with confusion..." Elijah said taking a deep breath. "According to you, Luz... I am a reincarnated... And the fact that I don't remember anything before I was 5 years old, also shows why I don't remember my past life... Suddenly, during a faint after using all your power.. You end up calling me Nico.... but one of the problems is that actually YOU don't even know any Nico, but Arthur is the only one here who knew someone with that name. And Arthur .. You said that this Nico was part of your group, but in the end he ended up having complete hate on you for some reason and the next time you saw him, he was dead... Am I saying something wrong, or is it THAT ?"

He was putting his hand to his head, sweating more as he took the glasses off his face. I unfortunately could see a similarity between him and Nico, they both refused to see things around when they were confused or having trouble thinking. Nico usually got into this state when he realized his inventions weren't working, requiring him to start the whole process over from the beginning.

"...Ironically, you got the situation right... It usually takes days for someone to understand... Good job." Luz said as if he was really impressed, but his face was expressionless.

"But the question is... So I'm this Nico guy?" Elijah questioned now rubbing between his eyes with two fingers of his right hand.

"That I'm not sure. The only absolute certainty we have is that you're like us... But I mean, if you don't remember, there must be some reason.... Arthur said that the Nico he knew, died being a person who had a strong sense of hate. But in the beginning he was an ordinary guy... I can raise a theory that, in fact, IF you are this Nico, it could be that you decided to lose your memories somehow, to be able to have a normal and peaceful life." When Luz said that, I took another deep breath.

Really, if Elijah is really Nico, it would make sense for him to want to erase his own memory, since... Nico became a man who was driven by hatred, just to kill me for... what I did to our friend... His fiancee.

"Cecilia, why did you make me do this…? Wasn't there any other way…?" I asked within my thoughts, but I knew these things would never be answered...

Unless Cecilia was also reincarnated... But... No... I can't get my hopes up that high, it's already been too good to have a life with a family, and on top of that the possibility of having recovered a childhood friend, who doesn't hate me anymore... Asking for Cecilia would be a sick exaggeration. She has already suffered from being used in her past life as an object by other people, she had better rest in peace forever.

"This... It's been too much for me..." Elijah put his glasses on the bed and got up, going directly to the bench in the room and resting his hands there.

"It's been too much for me too..." I replied, lying back on the bed and looking at the ceiling.

"Unfortunately, this is just another Wednesday for me... But seriously... This is incredible if it's true... I mean... It's already rare that I am reborn where there is more than one other reincarnated as me, but now one where the other reincarnated are from the same world? Wow.. This is 100% my first time seeing this! Honestly... Something being seen for the first time, by me, is AWESOME!" Luz said with a laugh as she threw herself on the bed, lying on the other side.

"Wait.... WHAT!?" Elijah said confused looking at Luz.

"Argh... From what I understand... Luz, unlike me and you, has already been reborn in other worlds countless times.... It's as if he was cursed to suffer eternally..." I replied, already sick of it, just wanting to rest.

"Exactly! And this curse of mine, when I entered this world, took the form of a Beast will." He said it as if it was something common.

"So...you beast will..... That crazy way in which your limbs literally exploded and rebuilt themselves... That's not from a mana beast... It's from a curse...?" Elijah said that and even though my brother didn't answer, the boy soon got back on the bed and threw himself on it too, lying in the middle part. "Holy Shit.... We are ultra freaks."

"Yes, we're." Me and my brother said this in unison.

After a few minutes, with the three of us looking at the ceiling, we heard a knock on the door. "Come in." I said.

Lilia and Ellie were the ones behind the door, my little sister came next to me and looked at us, after this she tugged at my cheek, even though I was clearly awake. "Dad and Uncle Vincy are here, we have to go down to dinner."

"Argh.. is Jasmine still here?" I heard Luz's voice, I was still staring at the ceiling.

"No, she left, but are you guys okay?" Lilia seemed to be the person asking.

"We're... Just thinking about it... I don't think we're going to be adventurers again anytime soon. I want to get some rest before entering Xyrus Academy." Elijah answered her.

"Exactly" Luz and I said in unison again.

"Ooh! Really, you're going to join Xyrus when Art turns 12 right? Hehehe so I'm your Senior!" Lilia said happily.

"Holy demon deities of blood, winds and lightning, bring me out of this terror." Luz seemed to be talking very quietly, Lilia and Ellie didn't seem to hear, but Elijah and I both looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

"W T F did you say?" I thought and I bet that Elijah had the same thing in mind.

"Argh.. Forget it... Come on, we have to introduce Elijah to Reynolds and Vincent.." He got up first with Lilia's help, and soon after, we got up and left the room.
