Chapter 3

Because his body was different from usual, Qin Yan was in a particularly good mood. He had a faint smile on his face all the way, even after entering the school. If he wasn't afraid of being seen and thought to be acting crazy, Qin Yan even wanted to hum a tune.

"Did something good happen?" A gentle-looking boy with glasses appeared next to Qin Yan at some point, asking. Qin Yan was initially startled, but when he saw the boy's face clearly, he returned to his carefree expression.

"Good morning." Qin Yan smiled and greeted the boy. This bespectacled boy was named Wei Zheng, Qin Yan's classmate and his only friend at school. Most students at school avoided Qin Yan as much as possible, but Wei Zheng was an exception. He treated Qin Yan very kindly, often initiating conversations and chats with him.

Qin Yan was happy to be friends with Wei Zheng because he never saw pity or sympathy in Wei Zheng's eyes. Wei Zheng always treated him like a normal person. Wei Zheng himself had mentioned before that he admired Qin Yan for being able to survive and stay strong after experiencing such unfortunate disasters.

Today, Qin Yan encountered something good and wanted to talk to someone about it. Wei Zheng was a good listener, so as they walked and talked, Qin Yan told him about meeting a homeless man yesterday, receiving a piece of black jade from him, having a strange dream at night, and then suddenly feeling better.

"Is your body really healed? Can you show me?" Wei Zheng adjusted his glasses, looking serious. He rarely smiled and was very earnest about everything.

"No problem!" Qin Yan pushed off the ground with his legs, soaring nearly a meter and a half into the air. This sight left Wei Zheng stunned.

Qin Yan was also extremely surprised. He didn't expect his body to not only recover but also become even more powerful than a normal person. He was speechless for a moment.

"Have you told anyone else about this?" Wei Zheng's tone became significantly higher. The situation was hard to believe.

"No, why?" Qin Yan asked.

After thinking for a while, Wei Zheng said, "I've heard some rumors about secret organizations conducting experiments on human bodies, using special methods to modify human bodies. The modified individuals can gain extraordinary abilities, such as greatly increased strength and the ability to use powers similar to magic. Your current situation seems very similar to those modified individuals."

"So, am I a bio-enhanced person now?" Qin Yan knew that Wei Zheng's family background was somewhat special and that he knew many things that ordinary people didn't, so he trusted Wei Zheng's words without doubt.

"It's not clear yet. Wait here, I'll ask my dad about it. You better not tell anyone about this and avoid contact with strangers. These secret organizations conducting human body modifications are ruthless and will do anything to achieve their goals, regardless of the subjects' well-being. If they come after you, it won't end well."

Qin Yan never expected to be involved in such a troublesome situation for no reason. His earlier happy mood vanished instantly.

Throughout that entire day, Qin Yan's body was in excellent condition. He didn't make any walking and falling jokes, and there were no hallucinations in his mind. Following Wei Zheng's advice to keep a low profile, Qin Yan didn't tell anyone about the situation or intentionally show his extraordinary physical abilities to others. The day passed smoothly, and then it was time to leave school in the afternoon.

Qin Yan left the campus and walked alone on the way home. When he reached a desolate and uninhabited road, a slender figure suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Hello there, classmate!" A pleasant female voice rang out, causing Qin Yan to stop in his tracks and look towards the source. Standing in front of him was a young woman in a red dress and black skirt. The young woman had a smile that seemed to be hiding something, and her bright eyes were fixed on Qin Yan's. Qin Yan rarely interacted with girls, let alone such a beautiful one, so when their eyes met, he couldn't help but feel a bit flustered and mesmerized.

"Are you the girl from this morning?" After a brief surprise, Qin Yan came to his senses and recognized the girl in front of him as the one he had accidentally knocked over in the morning.

"Yes, you injured me this morning, and now I'm here to settle the score with you," the girl said with a smile, but her demeanor didn't seem like she was looking for trouble.

"Where are you hurt?" Qin Yan's expression tensed as he quickly scanned the girl's entire body with his gaze.

"Don't worry, I'm just kidding," the girl said, suppressing her smile. She then took out a piece of black jade from her pocket and handed it to Qin Yan. "Is this yours?"

"How did you get this? No wonder I couldn't find it after searching for so long. Oh, it must have fallen when I bumped into you this morning," Qin Yan recognized the black jade he had obtained from the homeless man in the girl's hand. He reached out, took the black jade from the girl, and put it in his backpack.

A glint flashed in the girl's eyes. "The energy in this black stone is almost depleted, but it still emits radiation. You've been carrying it with you all this time. You're quite remarkable."

"This thing emits radiation?" Qin Yan was surprised to hear the girl's words. He remembered the strange events from last night and muttered to himself, "Could it be that what happened last night wasn't a hallucination but real?"

The girl overheard Qin Yan's muttering and leaned her face closer to his, her eyes filled with mystery as she asked, "What happened last night?"

"N-nothing..." Qin Yan was taken aback by the girl's close face and her somewhat mysterious gaze. He quickly took a step back.

The girl began to pace around, circling Qin Yan as if interrogating a suspect, scrutinizing him from head to toe before coming to a stop.

"Can you come with me for a moment? I have something to tell you," the girl said.

"Why can't you say it here? Is there something wrong?" Qin Yan sensed that the girl in front of him was acting unusually, and he couldn't help but feel cautious. Although the girl was very attractive, Qin Yan wasn't the type to stop thinking just because he saw a beautiful girl.

"Just come with me for a moment. It won't take up much of your time!" The girl's tone became more forceful, as if she was compelling Qin Yan to follow her.

"No, if you have something to say, just say it here. Otherwise, I'll leave." Qin Yan realized he had gotten himself into trouble and decisively refused, turning around to walk away.

"I thought you were a fool, but it seems you're quite clever. Oh well..." The girl's lips curved into a faint smile, a glint of light flashing in her eyes. Suddenly, she waved her right hand, and a fierce whirlwind materialized out of thin air in front of her, swirling towards Qin Yan's legs like a huge python, entwining them.

"What is this?" Qin Yan was astonished. With his feet entangled by the strange wind, he couldn't take a step forward. His upper body leaned straight towards the ground. In the past, Qin Yan would have fallen flat on his face, but today's Qin Yan was different. He forcefully kicked the ground with both legs, propelling himself into the air over a meter high. Qin Yan gracefully performed a front flip in the air, landing lightly on the ground and steadying himself.
