Chapter 143

"What are you looking for in that ancient tomb?" Ajun asked, still wearing a friendly smile on his face, but the smile felt somewhat unsettling.

Since it was their first meeting, Qin Yan didn't give a direct answer. He vaguely replied, "Um... I have some business there, looking for something inside."

"Looking for something? Is it a sword?" Ajun gazed at Qin Yan's face and asked.

"You already know?" Qin Yan didn't hide his purpose since Ajun seemed aware. "Yes, I am indeed looking for a sword there."

Ajun nodded and said, "It seems like your goal, like others, is to find that sword."

Qin Yan was puzzled. "Besides us, are there others looking for that sword?"

A frown appeared on Ajun's face, and he said, "Of course. That sword is a rare treasure. Over the years, countless people or creatures have entered that ancient tomb to find the sword. However, none of them have succeeded. Not only that, most of them never came out of the tomb."

Upon hearing this, Lin Shiqi was confused. "What do they do inside the tomb?"

Ajun chuckled, "That ancient tomb is home to many fierce monsters that specifically hunt and kill those who enter, including humans and other creatures. So why do you think those who go in never come out?"

Lin Shiqi shrank back, "Are you saying that people who enter the tomb are killed and eaten by the monsters inside?"

"That's right. So if you want to go to that tomb to find the sword, I advise you to give up. You've come all the way from the human realm to the celestial realm. Isn't it better to live peacefully here without risking your life to find that sword?" Ajun suggested.

However, Qin Yan remained unfazed. "We knew there would be dangers inside from the beginning. Regardless of the risks, we must go in. Just tell us the location of the tomb."

Ajun looked at Qin Yan with surprise. Despite his warnings, the young man showed no fear. Although he was young, he displayed great courage. "Alright, since you're so determined, I'll tell you." He pointed towards a range of mountains in the distance. "The entrance to the ancient tomb is at the foot of the fifth large mountain from this side, facing south."

Qin Yan glanced in the direction Ajun pointed, remembering the location. He said, "Thank you. If there's nothing else, we'll take our leave."

"Wait." Ajun stopped Qin Yan. Confused, Qin Yan asked, "Is there something else?"

"Take this." Ajun took out a red stone from his pocket and handed it to Qin Yan, who accepted it.

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

"What is this?" Qin Yan examined the red crystal in his hand, noticing a faint glow emanating from it.

"The situation inside the ancient tomb is complex. This can help you find the location of the sword." Ajun started walking away, saying, "You can go now. Whether you live or die inside will depend on your luck. But personally, I hope you succeed. This way, I might have a chance to see them again..." His voice grew fainter as he walked away, and Qin Yan and the others couldn't hear his last words clearly.

Qin Yan watched Ajun's departing figure, feeling a strange and indescribable sensation in his heart.

The next day, Qin Yan, Lin Shiqi, and Dream Butterfly arrived at the southern side of the mountain as directed by Ajun. Indeed, they found a stone platform resembling a plaza, with many stone pillars and human-shaped statues scattered around. At the juncture of the platform and the mountain, they could see a huge black, semi-circular structure resembling a door.

"I believe the ancient tomb should be here," Qin Yan said. He and Dream Butterfly and Lin Shiqi walked straight towards the semi-circular door. Just as they were about to reach the door, two figures emerged from behind a stone pillar. They turned to look at the two newcomers and recognized them as Yitianchou and Yuji, whom they hadn't seen for a long time.

"You took your time getting here," Yitianchou glanced at Qin Yan and the others, speaking in a cold tone.

"Qin Yan, Shiqi, and Dream Butterfly, you're here too. It's been a while," Yuji greeted them warmly, waving her hand.

"It seems like they found this place before us. I wonder if they obtained the sword," Lin Shiqi grumbled unhappily.

"They probably didn't, or else they wouldn't be standing outside," Qin Yan said, stopping in front of Yitianchou and Yuji, carefully observing them.

After half a month, Yitianchou and Yuji hadn't changed much, except for their slightly tattered clothes and a somewhat disheartened appearance. Seeing their condition, Qin Yan wondered if they had encountered something unpleasant in the tomb. He asked, "It looks like you're not making much progress. What happened?"

Yitianchou snorted and remained indifferent to Qin Yan's question, while Yuji forced a smile and said, "Yes, we encountered a little trouble."

Lin Shiqi chuckled mischievously, "What trouble? Did you get attacked by monsters inside the tomb and get driven out?"

Yuji gave an awkward smile but didn't respond, tacitly agreeing with Lin Shiqi's words.

"We're leaving. Let's not bother with them," Lin Shiqi didn't like seeing Yitianchou and Yuji. She grabbed Qin Yan and Dream Butterfly's hands, heading towards the black, semi-circular metal door on the mountain.

"Don't blame me for not warning you beforehand." Yitianchou's cold voice sounded from behind Qin Yan. "The tomb is full of dangers. If you go in directly, be careful you might not come out alive."

Qin Yan stopped in his tracks. He had already learned from Ajun that the tomb was dangerous. Hearing Yitianchou's words, he turned back to look at him with a puzzled expression. "What's the situation inside the tomb? What did you encounter inside?"

Yitianchou remained silent this time. Qin Yan turned to Yuji, who quickly said with a smile, "The environment inside the tomb is eerie, with many dangerous beasts. Yige and I were attacked by them shortly after entering, and we were injured. We almost didn't make it out."

Listening to Yuji, Qin Yan pondered. Yitianchou had regained his strength, and Yuji was a Level 4 body refiner with formidable abilities. If they had suffered losses inside, it indicated the tomb was indeed very dangerous.

Lin Shiqi began to feel scared. She tugged at Qin Yan's hand and said, "What should we do? If Dream Butterfly and I get seriously injured, we can't recover as quickly as you can. We might die inside."
