Chapter 145

Qin Yan also walked towards the stone chamber when suddenly Dream Butterfly's voice came from behind, "Qin Yan, be careful. The environment here is putting a lot of mental pressure on me. I feel like something is watching us in there."

Qin Yan turned to look at Dream Butterfly. "Do you have any good advice?"

After a moment of thought, Dream Butterfly said, "Once you go in, don't trust too much in what you see and hear. Stay calm, no matter what happens."

"I understand," Qin Yan nodded, remembering Dream Butterfly's words, and entered the extremely spacious stone chamber with Yitianchou.

Yitianchou walked slowly, constantly looking around, his expression unusually tense as if afraid something would appear. Seeing his demeanor, Qin Yan couldn't help but say, "Don't be too nervous. If anything happens, I can help you."

Yitianchou grunted, "It's easy for you to say. You'll see how tough it is later."

Qin Yan was puzzled. Yitianchou was usually fearless, not even scared of death. Now, he was acting so panicked. It was strange.

After walking several meters apart for about ten minutes, they didn't find anything in the stone chamber. Qin Yan asked, "Yitianchou, did you find anything on your side?"

Yitianchou didn't respond, ignoring Qin Yan's question. Qin Yan raised his voice, "What's wrong? Can't you hear me speaking?"

Yitianchou remained motionless, standing still in place. Qin Yan grew even more puzzled and took a few steps towards where Yitianchou had been standing in the white mist.

"What's going on?!" Qin Yan froze as he saw a black pillar where Yitianchou had been standing, and Yitianchou was nowhere to be seen.

"What's happening? Where did he go?" Qin Yan shivered and searched frantically for Yitianchou. However, the chamber was filled with thick mist and strange lights, visibility was poor. After searching for a while, Qin Yan still couldn't find Yitianchou, and his loud calls went unanswered.

"Could something have happened to him?!" Qin Yan thought, when suddenly a scream of "Ah" came from somewhere in the chamber. Recognizing the scream as Yitianchou's, Qin Yan hurried in that direction.

After a while, Qin Yan saw a blurry figure in the white mist ahead. It looked like a person sitting on the ground with their back to him. As he approached, Qin Yan called out loudly, "Are you Yitianchou?"

The person sitting on the ground didn't react. Qin Yan felt that something was off because the person looked very swollen and had a round bald head, not resembling Yitianchou. Qin Yan sternly shouted at the person, "Who are you? Stand up and turn around!"

The person slowly stood up and turned towards Qin Yan. Suddenly, Qin Yan was stunned, muttering, "Are you Liu Shi?!"

The person, with a round bald head, swollen body, and a face full of muscles, was none other than Liu Shi, whom Qin Yan had seen before and had personally killed. Liu Shi's face twisted into a wicked smile and roared, "I'm going to kill you!" He charged towards Qin Yan.

Qin Yan felt a chill run down his spine, quickly swinging his trident to unleash a blade of air towards Liu Shi. With a sharp sound, the blade struck Liu Shi in the chest, causing him to slowly fall to the ground.

"That was close," Qin Yan exclaimed, sweating coldly. Still in shock, Liu Shi suddenly sprang up from the ground, lunged at Qin Yan, and bit his leg. Feeling intense pain, Qin Yan kicked Liu Shi away. Liu Shi's eyes gleamed strangely as he emitted a sharp, piercing screech that sounded inhuman.

Qin Yan felt a wave of dizziness, and suddenly everything went black. He found himself in a dark space with no light, surrounded by emptiness. The white mist and strange lights had disappeared, and Liu Shi, who had been in front of him just moments ago, was nowhere to be seen.

"Where am I? How did I get here? Where did Liu Shi go?" Qin Yan was completely baffled by what had happened. Suddenly, he heard a rustling sound from above. Looking up, he saw a greenish-blue giant snake with wings hovering in the air, its large mouth wide open, lunging straight towards him.

"Isn't that the giant snake from the 'Chiyou' organization? How could it be here?!" Qin Yan was shocked. Without much thought, he quickly dodged the attack from the giant feathered snake and swung his trident in the air towards it. However, when the air blade struck the giant feathered snake, it showed no reaction and seemed unaffected by Qin Yan's attack.

"What is going on here?" Qin Yan felt like he was in a nightmare. Suddenly, he remembered Dream Butterfly's words, warning him not to trust too much in what he saw and heard.

"Could all of this be my illusions?" Qin Yan wondered. Nearby, a bunch of bizarre creatures appeared on the ground – a winged black tiger, a leopard-human wielding a red spear, a two-headed giant ape, and other strange beings – all charging straight at Qin Yan.

Suppressing his fear, Qin Yan quickly moved his feet, dodging the attacks of these monsters. He swung his trident in the air, launching air blades at the creatures, but they showed no reaction to his attacks, seemingly unaffected.

"It seems they are really my illusions," Qin Yan thought, lowering his guard. Suddenly, a black tiger pounced on him from behind, biting his left arm. Qin Yan, unaware of the attack, felt excruciating pain as his left arm was covered in blood, feeling like it was about to break.

Qin Yan gritted his teeth against the intense pain, pulling his arm out of the black tiger's mouth and slashing at the tiger. The tiger let out a strange wail, opening its mouth wide and spewing a murky gas towards Qin Yan's head.

"Ugh, my head is spinning..." Qin Yan felt like the world was spinning, as if he was drunk and couldn't stand steady. Various strange illusions appeared in his mind. The sky suddenly changed, and a peculiar white light appeared in the sky, shining on Qin Yan. He felt like his whole body was being pricked by countless needles, the pain unbearable. He tried to speak but couldn't, tried to escape but had no strength.

An unnamed fear filled Qin Yan's heart. He felt like he was back to when he was seven years old, the day he was exposed to solar radiation during a solar storm. Dizzy and unable to think, there was a dull thud, and Qin Yan collapsed on the ground, his eyes slowly closing.

Something lunged at Qin Yan, gnawing at his fallen body. Qin Yan tried to resist but felt powerless, unable to move. The creature bit into Qin Yan's neck, shaking him violently.

"Am I going to be killed?" Fear consumed Qin Yan's heart. Even though his eyes were closed, his mind was filled with strange illusions. He felt like he was back in his childhood, surrounded by people who looked at him with disdain and disgust, sneering and spitting at him, saying things like "disgusting," "why hasn't this person died yet," "what's the point of living." These words felt like sharp knives stabbing at Qin Yan's heart, leaving him feeling desolate and hopeless.
