“The name’s Hannah by the way. But since you’re my subordinate, just call me Ma'am or Ms. Got it?” The woman finally introduced herself.
“Yes Ma'am.” Callan replied, quickly realizing her position.
The two walked down the hallway, an elevator awaited them on the other end. Along the walls were screens filled with diagrams and blocks of text Callan couldn’t understand or bother to read.
Once the two reached the elevator, they slowly waited as it ascended. Hannah looked back at her clipboard, reading something from it.
“Says in your dossier that you were part of the breach a year ago. You survived with just a baton?” Hannah asked in amazement.
“Yeah, I thought it’d be easy to deal with or something like that won’t happen with the walls. Guess I overestimated them.” Callan responded with a sigh, annoyed by the thought of remembering that day.
“Hmm, you must be lucky then.” The conversation quickly ended, and the ride went on in silence.
The doors opened after a minute and the two stepped out. A gust of cold air immediately hit Callan upon exiting.
The room was large, resembling an armory. On the walls were a mix of heavily modified machine guns, sniper rifles, and a wide assortment of melee weapons. Counters were strewn about the place, covered with tools for maintaining weapons, sporting a light above each one.
At the opposite end of the armory was another door, almost blending to the wall with its color.
But in the middle of the room were a set of stasis pods. Each one held a sword of different appearance and modification.
“What are those swords for?” Callan pointed at the pods.
“Oh, those are only for the top brass of A Division and B division. Supposedly they have a multitude of special features. But we’ll never know.” Hannah turned around and walked to one of the weapon racks on the wall.
“Many people who are selected for A division have almost identical work experiences to yours. It seems like a pattern at this point, makes sense for our work though. Here.” Hannah tossed a sheathed sword to Callan.
The sword was light, with a black sheathe and white grip.
Removing the cover, it revealed a sharp curved blade.
“Since you’re an operative, that’s all you can get. Simple but still deadly. Good for cutting up limbs” Hannah briefly explained with a smile. Although disappointed his weapon wasn't stylish like the others on the wall and stasis pods, he simply sighed and sheathed the sword.
“Well, next is for you to get your new uniform-” The sound of the elevator door opening interrupted her.
A man walked out the elevator into the armory. He looked older and wore a long dark thick coat. His hands were covered in scars with a bloodied sword on his waist. In one of his hands was a single thin folder.
“Supervisor Hannah, the report you sent is incomplete. Please fix this before we have another word with the chiefs and executives.” The man spoke with gruffness and annoyance, staring straight at Hannah, he handed the folder to Hannah before shifting his eyes to Callan.

“Greenie operative huh?”
“Yes sir, one of the new operatives under my care.” Hannah replied, the man turned his head back to her.
“Finish this report. We need a few more Administrators and Arbitrators at L Division. Finish there if you must. Just make sure it isn’t incomplete this time.” After talking, the man made his way back to the elevator without another word.
Hannah let out a deep sigh as she stared at the opened folder.
“Who was he?” Callan asked. She turned to him, quickly replacing her face of frustration with a smile.
“He’s my superior. Which also makes him your superior as well. He is right though, we may need to be dispatched quickly.”
“Already?”
“Yup! So we should get you well dressed for your first job!” Hannah made her way past the pods and straight for the door on the other end, Callan followed behind her, getting more curious with what else the place had to offer.
‘So many guns, so many weapons. I wanna use them all.’ He thought to himself.
Standing in front of the door for a few seconds, it opened to the next room.
The place was smaller, and in front of them were more pods, but this time they were covered from prying eyes with a cloth. On both sides were Sets of clothes, from basic thick coats to kevlar armor and tactical gear.
“This is just our collection of apparel, your task as an operative of A division is to basically fight alongside the unit and note things down. Simple as that.” After talking, Hannah grabbed a set of clothes and tossed it to Callan.
A black suit, slacks, sword belt, gloves, and a robe that covers his entire body.
“Stylish right? Don’t worry, I'll wait outside for you to change. Just throw your old clothes on that counter.” Without waiting for a response, Hannah hastily walked outside.
‘Certainly better than what security gave me.’ He thought to himself.
At the corner of the room, Callan realized there was a small counter with a stack of worn clothes on it. Below, he could see a sign stuck to it.

Minutes passed, and Callan donned his new look. Outside, he saw Hannah waiting near the door staring at the folder and taking a while to notice he was done.
“Seems to suit you well, we can now proceed with the next part of this tour. The main floor of the tower!” She spoke after realizing he was there. Soon, the two made their way back to the elevator, quickly entering inside.
“Oh right, one more thing.” Hannah pulled out a clipboard from inside her lab coat. Already full of blank sheets of paper and a pen. She handed it to Callan.
“Make sure you write any notable thing in the mission. Deaths, mutant amounts, any possible unique ones. Basically anything out of the ordinary.” The elevator soon stopped, and they reached the last floor of the tour.
The last floor was filled with people wearing similar outfits to Callan. Hundreds of conversations filled the air as they walked by.
“Your fellow teammates are waiting in the L tower already.” Hannah walked ahead, already knowing where to go on the populated floor. Through the flood of operatives, they reached a small sliding door.
Through it, a station full of modified bullet trains, lacking any windows and sporting darker paint. One was already waiting in front of them, being filled with operatives.
“Hope there’s space left.” They rushed inside, managing to get in before the train doors closed.
Once everyone sat down and prepared, the train took off. With a destination set.
Callan looked back at his gear and weapon, inspecting them before they arrived at their destination, feeling eager and excited for his first mission as an operative.
