A sweet aroma filled my small abode inside the hollowed crevice of the tree. Surprisingly, I just learned that Oran Berries hold a high concentration of sugar and taste even better from a good roast, kind of like juicy marshmallows slightly melted over a campfire. Unfortunately, I had to learn the fact the hard way through some hurried desperate measures.
Earlier, I nearly let go but quickly gripped tightly back on the vine holding up the makeshift leafy carriage encasing around Pidgeotto, causing the bird Pokemon to drop and violently jerk back up from the snapping motion of the makeshift carriage. Pidgeotto grunted, letting out a hoarse groan of pain.
My heart dropped from the unintentional hurt I caused the Pokemon who asked for my help. My cheeky antics from my thrill of experiencing Pikachu’s power quickly dissipated as I dodged left and right, feeling the fiery blazes of Ember narrowingly past by me. My shiny yellow fur shrunk and curled, almost melting into itself. However, the pain I caused Pidgeotto hurt even more.
I now regretted egging on the angry Houndours, but the milk was spilled. More sparks of red fiery blazes flared inside the snouts of the growling pack of sleek black-furred dogs with silver metal-like cuffs on their ankles. I thought the metal skull-like mask on their head would be an annoyance, but it definitely did not deter or hinder any of their fire breathing.
My eyes widened with alarm at the doggies preparing to attack, and I rushed to pull the floating carriage over towards the branch where I stood. More shots of flames spewed at me, but I needed to be careful with the injured Pidgeotto.
I gritted my teeth and watched wide-eyed as the fiery red flames approached me and Pidgeotto. I looked down at the unconscious Pokemon, whose feathers were now drenched in sweat. I could not risk letting Pidgeotto take on any more damage. And so, I leaped in front of the injured bird.
“PIK-AAAAHH!” I shouted in agony as the fire burned the front side of my fur and seared my flesh. I had to be strong! I gripped the vine and slowly let it slide through my paws as I lowered Pidgeotto to the branch before frantically patting the residual fire off my chest.
“Hoooooooouuuuuuuunnnnd!!!” The attackers screeched, using the move, Howl.
My ear jerked and folded down to block out the intense noise from the many howling Pokemon from below. The Houndour’s move boosted their attack and also their determination to take me down. But their choice of attack was their folly! I was given a critical moment to breathe, and I hurriedly took advantage of it.
Taking a deep breath, I leaped over Pidgeotto and used all my might to drag the leaf carriage along with the bird Pokemon into my home. I backpedaled quickly until my back hit the back-end wall of my tiny home. But then, I felt a tug on the vine. My eyes widened in alarm!
“These doggies are persistent!” I shouted, crouching down and chewing through the vine that was being pulled back down by the Houndour.
I got lucky. Pidgeotto was yanked back while still on the leafy carriage, but I made it just in time as the unconscious Pokemon slipped halfway back toward the entrance.
“Ouurr! Ouuurr!” The doggies angrily barked, shooting more small blasts of fireballs at the curved triangular entrance to my abode.
“Oh god! Did I just trap myself?! Please, tree! Don’t burn down!”
Splatters of sparks and fire breached through the hole and splashed inside, flaring too close to comfort even as I pulled Pidgeotto and myself back against the end of the hollowed crevice. I jerked my head left and right, frantically looking around for something to block the open hole, causing my ears to flap from side to side. My head then jerked to a stop, and my eyes widened and locked on the perfect items to block the hole!
“Eureka!” I shouted, dashing around Pidgeotto and to the humongous pile of dark blue Oran Berries stacked to the ceiling in the corner.
I lifted one, then two, and then the last onto my armful of Oran Berries. Juggling the four berries against my chest, I kicked some more over, dribbling and passing the berries like soccer balls toward the hole.
“Hoooundooouurr!” my new enemy admirers shouted upon sight of my famous adorable yellow silhouette.
Not wanting anything more with the crazy, snarling doggie Pokemon, I hurriedly stacked on the berries to start blocking the hole. However, the Houndour really wanted some toasted Pokemon flesh. They continued shooting balls of flames, burning and melting the Oran Berries. And I just kept going back and forth, piling on more.
Dang it, doggos! Even if you did roast us, how would you climb up here to get us?
With a barricade of singed Oran Berries fully blocking the hole, the room turned dark as I collapsed onto my butt. “Finally! Damn, those persistent Pokemon! Note to self: Don’t harass other Pokemon. Especially if they come in packs and are trying to eat you.”
The Houndour slowly stopped blasting Ember at my pile of berries. They howled with deep anger that faded into the distance as they left. I flopped onto my back, finally able to take a break and slightly relax.
“Chaaa,” I sighed. “Man, what a day,” I said in the Pokemon language.
The tree didn’t burn down to my luck. Only the sweet smell of charred Oran Berries-
“Oh, shoot! Oran Berries! Pidgeotto!”
It was hard to see in the dark. My new body did not have night vision, unfortunately. But it did have something rather unique!

“Come on out, Blue Screen!” I shouted! (I swear, I could totally be a Pokémon Trainer.)
The glow of bright blue light flashed into existence like a ghost, illuminating the small hollowed room. Using the blue from the glowing status screen to light up the room, I grabbed a berry and sprinted over to Pidgeotto. He still breathed with deep and heavy panting breaths, and I had no idea if this would work at all.
“Forgive me, Pidgeotto! For many things, but also for this!” I bowed my head before ripping out a chunk of the Oran Berry and mashing it in my hands into a blue and purple paste. “Say, ahhhh.”
“Ahhh,” I said as I peeled open Pidgeotto’s beak and shoved in the Oran Berry paste.
I let go of Pidgeotto’s beak to see if he could eat and swallow on his own. And by reflex, Pidgeotto swallowed.
“Good, Pidgeotto. Say, ahhhh,” and I shoved in some more berry paste into the bird’s mouth like a diligent mother bird that threw up its digesting food to feed its babies.
I think it started to work. The heavy panting slightly eased, and color returned to his face. He still panted, but at least I think he passed the critical stage. However, I didn’t know if Pidgeotto's bones would heal properly. I was no doctor and definitely no Pokemon doctor. I could only keep shoving Oran Berries down Pidgeotto’s throat. Eventually, after two and a half berries, the unconscious bird Pokemon burped and ate no more. However, Pidgeotto looked a bit better.
I plopped down onto my bottom, completely exhausted. My once healthy and shiny yellow fur was now marred with char and crispy ash from the burns, and parts of my exposed red skin near my chest ached and stung. However, I got lucky Ember was not such a powerful fire move.
Taking the other half of the half-remaining blue Oran Berry, I tried to recover as well by opening my mouth wide like an ‘O’ and chomped down on the entire thing. A refreshing mix of juicy sweet and tart flooded my palate, and my taste buds enjoyed the morsel. I smiled, feeling a faint cool energy expand and ripple throughout my body.
“Hmmm… interesting and kinda weird…,” I said, looking up at the oddly large form of the blue screen projected like a large chandelier on the ceiling. I don’t know why, but the blue window expanded more than the first time I saw it.
Why did it do that? I most definitely didn’t tell it to do that…
My attention was drawn to the increasing numbers on the screen, and I refocused, watching my HP gradually recover.
43 -> 44 -> 45
“Haaaa…” I left out a stressful breath of air. Everything that happened actually took my HP down to half, maybe even more because I just now took a closer look at the screen, the odd screen. It was so large that it covered all of the ceiling now. I guess it wasn’t that big if I thought of it through my human body, but as a Pikachu, it was way bigger than it was before.
“This is so strange. Why did the screen get bigger? I didn’t ask it to. Can it be changed and adjusted or something?”
Suddenly, my mouth dropped. I had to ask. Dang it, Sax! I just had to ask, didn't I?
The blue screen warped, fizzing and phasing in and out with blue static and holographic circuitry.
And then the information displayed changed…

And then… the window changed again! But this time, the mesh of black and white static condensed and merged into a shape, forming one large eye and grinning sharp teeth that all flashed in glitching circuitry.
The creepy eye looked at me with an all-seeing gaze, piercing deep past my Pikachu form and into my human soul. Its grinning mouth opened, displaying long jagged teeth that gleamed in an odd static glitching.
“Welcome, Sax, to my world.”
I froze in fear but had to ask, “Your world? Who are you!?”
The eye came closer, and I hurriedly used my elbows and feet on the ground to scurry backward.
Luckily, the entity stopped and gave a baffling response, “Inattentive, you are Sax. By my good grace, I showed you my name first, no?”
Suddenly, a light bulb in the form of my memory of the warped blue screen popped into my mind.
“Missing No.!” I shouted in disbelief. “What did you do?!”
Missing No. sighed, “You really need to pay better attention, my dear Sax. I shall say it once more. Welcome, to my world. You should now be able to connect the dots.”
I tilted my head, still not connecting the dots fully. “Your world? So you brought me here? Why? But I thought Arceus did? I thought Arceus created the Pokémon world.”
The eyeball immediately narrowed at me with a scathing look. Its sharp teeth grinded against each other, releasing out a hoarse twisting of metal sound before bellowing and shaking the entire tree and forest.
“LIES! THAT DAMN ARCEUS! THE SELF-PROCLAIMED CREATOR! I AM THE TRUE BEGINNING AND END!”
I staggered, collapsing onto the ground. Missing No. suddenly ceased its unintended attack, and everything went eerily silent.
“Those damn minions of Arceus! They are always on the lookout! I will hide for now. Do not dare reveal my presence to those here, Sax. You will regret should you do.”
Suddenly, the blue screen turned back to its normal size, and I jerked back at the notification, hitting the back of my head on the curved wall.
