That was when I first got isekai’d.
Before all this isekai crap, I was a programmer in a small video game company. I was a part of a team of ten people, who were responsible for programming the mechanics and such. The game was planned to be named ‘King’. It is like the standard MMORPG, with levels and weapons, etc.
‘Remember to save, okay? We haven’t saved in a few hours, I don’t want to lose all our hard work.’ My boss told me before clocking out. Everyone was done already. I was the only one left to complete my part. Sighing, I typed away on my computer, typing well into the night. Around midnight, I finally finished. Standing up, I shut my laptop and prepared to leave.
All of a sudden, I felt a whoosh and a light breeze around me. Wait, something is wrong.i am in an office. The windows should be closed, the doors should be locked. No breeze should be able to get in. Or at least I should have noticed. All of a sudden, I felt a hard hit from behind, and was knocked unconscious.
When I opened my eyes, I found that I was in a grassy field. Are there such fields in China? I realised that it looks awfully familiar. It looks like the fields when I went to New Zealand. Just add a herd of cows, and it will look like a picture. From behind, I heard a large amount of cows run towards me. I turned, and realised that they were not cows. In fact, they were ogres. They were about three metres tall, had grey, mottled skin, and wore a tiger-skin looking clothes. They held a club about one and a half metres long, and half a metre wide. This also seems familiar.
Stolen novel; please report.
Hold up, wasn’t this the character model for the ogres in ‘King’?
At that moment, a realisation struck me. I was isekai’d, like the novels of those in the East (TN:I think M.3. Is referring to the Japanese light novels). If I tried to do anything, I would be beaten to the underworld. However, if I didn’t do anything, I would be crushed under the rampaging crowds. I braced myself for the crushing pain that I knew that I would face…
‘Ffwhip (sfx: sound of something whooshing.)’ I head something fly past me, and a soft breeze blow past me. I opened my eyes, which I didn’t even know I closed, and saw a six-man party donning armour that looks familiar. The beginner adventurer armour was the item name of the armour. This confirmed my suspicions. I was definitely in ‘King’.
‘Heey! Good job luring the ogres to us!’ A man shouted over the sounds of rumbling, ‘Come here! It’s safer!’
I followed his instruction and ran over, hiding behind the adventurers. Once they made sure that I was safe, they got into position, and prepared to kill the ogres. Two tankers, two magic users, and two healing magic users. The perfect team for taking down the comparatively slow and clumsy ogres. They could retreat and attack using the magic users, while having the tankers block any attacks from the ogres that got through the magic users’ attacks, while the healers heal the tankers, in order to sustain the formation. This method will only work for one or two hordes of ogres. Any more and the healers would run out of mana, and the tankers would likely die, but for that one or two hordes, this would be the ultimate strategy for killing ogres (TN: I think the writer means for 6 people only, of course there are better ways if there are just more members.)
However, I was unable to witness the battle, as my exhaustion after working till so late, and the stress of almost dying resulted in all of my stamina being depleted, and I blacked out.
