Chapter 120 Healing Those Who Don’t Know They Are Damaged

Chapter 120

Healing Those Who Don’t Know They Are Damaged

It takes a certain kind of person who does the right thing, for all the wrong reasons. While I can’t say that I didn’t enjoy helping the women my Alternate brother damaged, I would be lying if I didn’t feel a certain measure of satisfaction with the way I healed them. Or rather, with the fact that I made sure the people I healed were well and truly angry at what had happened.

Now how did I do this? Simple, I had Día lure them in. She would pose as a reporter and ask to bring in girls thought to have been targeted by Chet Goldman. Then while behind the camera, I would slowly Mind Heal, the women who had been targeted by my alternate brother.

While recording them, I could just about see the moment they were free of the shackles of mind control. There was a moment when their face broke out and then rage filled their faces.

“Good, now that you are no longer under the compulsions of mind slavery. We can begin.” Día said to the interviewee.

Seeing her at work was amazing. She would take the women who were at a violent rage and bring them down to a slow vengeful simmer.

“Sorry about the pretenses, but we found that this is the easiest way to get people to comply. By now, you are no doubt feeling the effects of my cameraman there.” Día said, gesturing to me. At this point I would move out from behind the camera and give a wave.

“Now, before you do anything reckless, know that you are not alone in this endeavor. There is behind me a room filled with women much like yourself. Women who have all experienced the mind manipulations of Chet Goldman.” Día said.

With that, the door to the other room would open and reveal the few people we had already healed.

“Also, that painful lump in your chest should no longer bother you.” I added to the woman.

With that the woman reached up and gently felt the area in question. Then after a second she pressed a little harder on the area, only to find nothing.

“You healed me?” She asked, confusion in her features.

“My colleague over there is a man of many talents.” Día said, to help smooth out the conversation.

With that, this woman, paused to look at me.

“You look familiar. Are you related to him?”

  I smile sadly.

“Unfortunately. He is my older brother. He spent the last few years making it, so my life was a living hell with my family. Now I go around trying to undo his works from the universe. Oh, also don’t worry he has been neutered, from an evil mind wiping capabilities perspective.” I add.

  “Neutered?”

“Yes, my colleague, Mr. Goldman, rescued me during his attempted assault. At that time, he also managed to make it so the powers he was using to control me were, removed.” Día said.

There was a silence as the woman thought about what she had just discovered.

  “So, what happens now?”

“For now, you still get your thousand crypto consultation fees. Additionally, you get twelve free mental health sessions to one Dr. Charleston. But most importantly, I want you to know that you are not alone.” Día said.

Watching Día work was like magic. It was clear that she was going places, the way she moved and controlled a room, a conversation, or people was just magical.

I knew she had a few powers related to reading people’s emotional states, but the rest, that was all her.

“Thank you.” The interviewee, number seven for this trip said.

“I am not the one you should be thanking. Most of this thanks should go to my counterpart here.” Día said, while gesturing to me.

With that the woman got up, then walked around the camera to greet me.

She was beautiful, they all were. This girl, number seven had dark skin and exotic blue eyes of power. Just looking at her, I could see she was powerful. Or at least powerful for her natural disciplines.

“Whoa.” She said, as she got around and truly took me in.

I could have shapeshifted into another form but being in my natural state was a lot easier on me as this state didn’t require me to focus all the time. Though of course I say this, while I even now still hide my heterochromatic eyes from the universe. Still, I had my muscular build that I had developed over my travels, along with my electric silver hair that all but screamed power.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

  I smile.

“I will choose to take that as a compliment.” I say.

With that she pauses, then shakes her head.

“I can see the resemblance, but you? You are much more.”

“Then my brother, I hope so.”

“Then anyone.” She said, as her ice blue eyes began to glow with power.

Then her eyes roll back in her head, as she is clearly suffering from some type of vision. Reaching out, I quickly grab her, but this only seems to heighten the sensation.

  Healing-X.

I begin casting healing on her, cleansing out her system and letting her body heal from the damages it is now going through.

Finally, after a minute she stops. By this point the room with other women have all come out to investigate. Fortunately, Día is there, acting as a buffer between the two of us and the six of them.

“Whoa.” This woman, number seven says, as she opens her eyes and stares at me. “So much pain. Your heart still beats for her.” The woman says, brushing her hand against the side of my face.

At that, I look up to see a mess of conflicting emotions running across Día ’s face. Before I can try to puzzle out what she is thinking, number seven begins to speak again.

“Don’t worry, you will find your answer that you seek, of that I am certain.” She says.

At that I pause, having heard the number one reason for what I will do next will be successful.

“You mean I will find it?” I ask, a note of hope in my voice.

“I mean that when someone as powerful as you wills something to happen, the heavens themselves will provide a way.” She responds.

It is more oracular mumbo-jumbo, but I will take it. With that, I let out a sigh and help the woman to her feet.

  “Thank you.” I tell her.

“No, it is I who should be thanking you. Though I will offer this one word of advice.”

I pause and raise an eyebrow at the statement.

“What you seek will not be easy to find. Listen to my words and enjoy the path with those who choose to travel the long road by your side. They are the ones who will help you finally meet your goals.” Number Seven says, as she makes a pointed look at Día.

At that, I feel like I am being set up on a semi-blind date.

Unfortunately, everything is still too new, too raw.

  I need time to process.

Part of me wonders if I should go back to my own universe, to see how things are going. But another part of me realizes that this might be the best chance I have at saving both Jesses.

“Thank you.” The only words you can safely say to an Oracle. If you press them for more details, they will either lie, or tell you some garbage about the future not being set in stone. If you say, “nah, I’m good.” Then you get looked at with derision.

Basically, accepting the cryptic advice is the only thing you can do.

With that, we usher number seven into the room, while the next victim comes forward. All the women are powerful, beautiful, and young.

  In all we heal twelve.

Twelve lives, well thirteen lives, including Día who were directly mind assaulted.

At first, I didn’t want the girls to act rashly, as many were angry enough to kill him right then and there.

Now, I realized that lynching him might have been for the best. As many of these women work with Chet, meaning they will have time to ruin his career. I even overheard a few ideas about how they would destroy everything he cared about.

Sadly, the more people we healed, the less pity I could dredge up for the guy. He was a slime, plain and simple, now whatever happened to him was simple karma.

“How do you feel?” Día asked, when the last of the women left, and it was just the two of us. She was as good as her word. Everyone got the one thousand cryptos for the interview, along with the twelve free consultations with Dr. Charleston.

  I smiled weakly.

“I almost feel bad for him, but I know he did it to himself.” I state.

Día just waves her hand dismissively.

  “I meant about the vision.”

“Oh that? The one from number seven. It is what it is.” I answer.

“Her name was Delila, and yes, she is a Psychometric. Maybe not as powerful as your Precognition-X, but close.” Día says, there is a slight discomfort in her posture. I can tell she wants to say something more, but I can’t be for certain what she is thinking.

“I don’t really know what you are exactly hinting at, and it has been kind of a long day.” I say, probably not my best work, but I am tired. At least I am emotionally tired, those women went through a lot. In a way it was rewarding to be there for their healing process, but in another way, it was just a lot to deal with.

Hearing my sharp words, Día takes in a deep breath, then continues.

“Delila mentioned that there was a her. I just wanted to know who this person is to you?” Día finally asks.

  At that, I nod.

I figured it would be something along this line. Día is an attractive woman and has been giving me more than several hints at her interest in me.

“There are two people, actually. One belongs to the me from a different universe, and one well. She and I were supposed to be star crossed lovers. People who sacrificed their lives and souls apparently, to save the universe. The only problem was, I refused to be a martyr. I refused to settle for the status quo, as such I fought back. Found the loophole, and now I am here.” I admit.

“This is how you gained your levels and your astronomical power rating?”

  I nod.

“What were they like?” She asks.

I pause, almost wanting to yell at her, stating that they are still alive. That they are the way I remember them, but then I think better of it. Instead, I do something that almost feels like betrayal. The only problem is, I need to tell someone, as I cannot stand to continue to be like this.

  “I could show you them.”

“Show them? They are still alive?”

  I nod.

“Then why aren’t you…” She trails off, as the answer to her question becomes apparent. That or she just wants to see the woman who still has my heart. “I would like to see them.”

With that I hold out my hand.

She reaches out her hand and clasps hold of my own.

With that I focus for a second, and we both disappear, traveling across universal barriers to a temple where time stands still.

  Total Recall.

  Poof.

We both appear on an open field generated by the temple. There on the ground are two women who are so similar in appearance, people would assume they were sisters. Rather than the exact copy of each other, only separated by five years. Sexy Alien Jess looks like the older streetwise version of my Jess.

Seeing them in this environment, in their relaxed state one could almost assume they were dead. The only sign that they are still alive is the slow breathing of their chests and the way their eyes flutter back and forth rapidly.

Seeing them Día has her hands go up to her mouth.

She is clearly reading their minds. I would normally consider this an invasion, but I am curious about what she sees.

Almost as if hearing my thoughts, Día turns to me and answers my unspoken question.

“They are safe. They both know that the universes have been saved. They also know that you are out there looking for a cure.” Día says, her hands going to her lips as tears begin to flow gently.

“I can see why you’d want to save them. They both seem, amazing.” Día offers.

  At that I nod.

“How can they still be alive? Also, where are we, exactly?”

“We are in the human Awakening Temple, or at least the one from my universe. I found that people here would not age, need food or water, or otherwise die of neglect. As such, this seemed like the perfect place to keep not only my Jess, but the other Jess who also risked her life to save the universes.”

  Día just nodded.

“This, this is why you what you are searching for? Trying to find a cure for these two?” Día asks.

  I nod.

“You know their souls are damaged, right? That they are…” She trails off, as she scans me again. “Your class? You think that you can get a new power that can heal them?”

“I know I will.” I say, a note of determination in my voice.

Día pauses and looks at the two girls who look like angels sleeping.

Then after a moment, Día nods her head.

“Then what are we waiting for. You have your girls to save, and I have a money-making venture that we will monopolize.”

  At that I smiled.

“Okay.” I said, making sure to cast Healing on the two sleeping angels. If only to renew my psychic resonance with the two, so I could make a return trip, when I find a cure.

  Día holds out her hand.

I take it, then with a slight focusing of my will we are off again, back to the 14th universe.

  Total Recall.

  Poof.
