Fennen was walking along a dirt path, and while walking he had decided to set rules for himself. He would try to harm as few innocent people as possible, but if they got harmed by him due to circumstances they were simply unlucky. He would become the ruler of this world, and take all the people who made him suffer, or people who committed evil, and would make them suffer instead.
He kept on walking for a while, and to his surprise there wasn't very much around. A few trees here, and long flowing plains. He would practice his magic during the walk and had gotten used to light and void magic to some extent. He wouldn't be called an expert, but he couldn't be called bad at it anymore. The day was closer to the end at this point, so he decided to stop waking for the night and set up a camp.
With the convenience of him being able to banish things, he was able to make a house pretty easily, all he had to do was find a tall landform such as a hill or a cliff. He looked around and did see some hills, so he started walking towards them. After walking for about 45 minutes, he reached one of the taller hills. He started banishing dirt to dig out an area and replacing it as compact pillars. His void ability allowed him to reshape anything he banished and bring it back afterwards.

He went out, banished a large tree, and used it to make furniture for his house, as well as reinforcing the walls and pillars. He was able to make a bed, and a table and chair before he was out of any useful amounts of wood. He went back, and grabbed one more tree. He made a door with temporary wooden hinges, and then went to sleep.
He was back in that dark empty space. Honestly to Fennen this place felt like home now, and he was always comfortable here. He didn't have to deal with sadness, he didn't have to deal with the pain of the outside world in here. Just nothing, emptiness abounding.
He woke up to someone, or something, knocking at his door. He cautiously got up and opened it. He didn't know who would be here in the middle of the night, but it probably wasn't good. He pulled it open to find nobody there. Fennen was very confused, it made no sense to knock and leave at this time of night. Maybe his mind was playing tricks on him, and there was no knock in the first place. Fennen thought it was plausible, as he had just lost someone he loved.
He was still feeling fatigued so laid back down and fell asleep
... Morning
Fennen woke up and stretched. Nothing else had disturbed him throughout the night so he had gotten a pretty good rest. He also had time to think about it and decided to not go live in a town. He would make his own territory here, as he wouldn't like being under someone especially with Fennen probably going to oppose them eventually.
He decided to start preparing for that and started work on a huge wall, with the mound house at the center. He left space for if anyone would like to inhabit there area, since more citizens means more power. This wall will take a while, but it will be worth it.
