Fennen was very excited, a dream of almost every young man who knew of RPG was to be able to be part of one, and that excitement almost outweighed his internal hatred for this world. Almost. After the initial excitement faded he gathered his thoughts and looked at his status.

The Envoy of Emptiness
...
The status was really simple he thought, but after thinking about it further it made sense. You can't actually quantify health in reality if your head gets lopped off you die, and the same goes with other stats. You could quantify all of his properties but it wouldn't make sense without context, and how would training strength or agility or endurance effect those numbers.
That wasn't what Fennen focused on however, It was the title. What the hell is the envoy of emptiness, and why is his void skill so high level. Questions that's he had neither the answers to, nor the means to get said answers. He put that thought aside, and continued talking to the guard.
After asking the guard for directions to a town, he headed that way. He walked, and he walked, and he walked, and he walked, and he walked. Fennen never got bored though, he was soothed by the emptiness, to his surprise. Surely someone from a more modern time would get bored at just walking like this, with nothing but plains around. Fennen however didn't mind it, as it was one less thing to worry about.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
After eventually finding the road the guard had informed him about, he went left on it towards a patch of trees. Thinking everything was going great, perhaps too early, was a critical mistake. After entering the patch of trees, Fennen could feel something was wrong. It was a sense of discomfort, as if something was incomplete, but he didn't know the cause.
Perhaps if he was a bit more skilled, or had a bit more experience, he would've realized that feeling was another's presence. Before he could even react he had fallen over with a knife in his back, moderate pain rushed through Fennen. A bandit grabbed him at his pockets, and after searching everything he kicked Fennen. "Damnit, no money" the bandit yelled. He pulled his knife out of Fennen, and left him to die.
Fennen however was lucky. He wouldn't die because he wasn't stabbed anywhere vital and a woman had watched the whole thing transpire. Fennen woke up later that day after being treated by the lady, to her surprise. He felt a moderate pain in his back, but perfectly bearable considering what he had been through.
He saw the lady first thing when he woke up. She was beautiful with long flowing brown hair, fair ivory skin, and a soft yet determined air about her. She was 100% Fennen's type and he Talked to her after seeing his chest and back bandaged, and asked her if she had helped him. After her confirmation he thanked her, and introduced himself.
I am Rosa, she replied, while preparing a soup. "Rest" she said as Fennen tried to stand up to help. Fennen laid back down and waited. While waiting he meditated. His mind was calm, and his back was quickly recovering because of his skillset, unbeknownst to himself. His Concentration was only interrupted by the information that the soup was done.
Moving to the table, Rosa and Fennen ate the soup, and Fennen thought it was the best food he'd ever had, not that he could actually remember the taste of any food he'd had before. He asked Rosa if she would let him stick around and help out while he recovers. She says yes and they continue eating.
After finishing their meal he helpd her with dishes, and they both head to sleep, Rosa lending him a blanket.Drifting off, Fennen has another dream unlike before however it wasn't about his earthen past. He dreamt of himself, sitting in a black void meditating. No sound, no light, no worries. Just an endless mass of nothingness, and he was content.
Fennen woke up after a good night of sleep, and Rosa had already set out laundry and started on breakfast. Feeling ashamed of himself for sleeping in so long, Fennen got up to help albeit too late. Rosa had already finished a breakfast of mashed potatoes and bread. It was nowhere near as good as last night Fennen thought, but still really good.
And the day starts...
