Pan's POV
Unknown voice: Get kid, get up.
*thump*
Ouch! Something hard hit my arm and my eyes shot open. For some reason, I was in classroom with several other people of various ages and appearances. More importantly, my arm hurt.
Unknown voice: kid, get up already...or I'll kick you again
Due to my weak and overly sensitive body, my arm was bruised easily by the simple kick. It was times like this when I really hated how weak my body was. I looked up towards the voice where a young man stood.
He wore a really nice suit, suggesting he was a business worker of some kind. Though his intense face made him look like a thug or criminal. I could feel a sinister aura surrounding him. It made me want to crawl up and hide.
Suit Man: Rachel, can't we just tell him later.
A middle aged women approached the man in suit with a frown on her face. The only thing noteworthy about her was her strange sense of fashion. She wore weird clothing I had never seen before. On her waist she wore some kind of utility belt and on her back she had a large metal backpack of some kind. She also had strange goggles on.
Rachel: Don't be kicking the newbies Harold. They get up on their own just fine. And no, it's easier to explain to everyone at once. Besides I get to explain so sit back and wait.
She seemed no less scary than the man to me, albeit in a different way.
Harold: Just look at him. He's skin and bones. Plus he took too long. Everyone else woke up 3 minutes ago.
Everyone else? I took a look around and noticed a congregation of people within the room, huddled in a corner of the room.
An old man who was previously standing with the rest of the people moved towards the two/
Old man: Hush now, he's just a child. Lets help him up.
The friendly looking old man lent me a hand with a smile on his face, causing me to scramble back and pull myself up with the aid of the wall.
I didn't feel comfortable in this situation at all. What I wouldn't give for the expressionless people back at the facility right now. At least I knew everyone's motives there.
Me: No... I can get up by myself.
The man seemed troubled since he saw my struggling, but he headed back to the rest of the confused people. I had nothing against the old man, but in this situation, I'm sure I can't trust anyone. It didn't help that my experience with people is them experimenting on me. Adults scared me when approaching me in such a manner.
Harold: Everyone listen up. Stop the chatter. I'm sure your all expending all of your measly brainpower trying to figure out what's going on. Rachel here will tell you everything quickly, since we're low on time.
Rachel: Fine, fine. I'll start, but I'll say it once and once only, so listen carefully. You have all decided to come here of your own free will. No one kidnapped you or is pulling a prank and don't delude yourself to thinking this is a dream. Everything you are about to experience is real and you can die if you fool around.
As Rachel mentioned how we could die, Everyone starting voicing complaints and had questions.
*ting*
A black object swiftly flew from Rachel's hands to right beside someone's head, embedding itself into the wall.
A zoned out teen wearing all black then shrieked as the object passed his face, which now had a ghastly expression on it. I watched the others instantly grow silent.
Rachel then walked up to the wall and grabbed the object, which now can be recognized as a Batarang.
Rachel: Now that your done asking questions, I am going to continue explaining.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
No one dared to talk, especially myself. I had past the point of scared and was quite terrified right now. The Batarang had sunk a few inches into the wall easily, making myself wonder what kind of Strength did she possess.
Rachel: If you try thinking about it, there will be information already directly implanted into your head about what is going on.
I looked into my memory and just like she said, information on this situation resided. Right now we were all partaking in a project, made by God, to evolve mankind to the next stage. We would be sent into various movies, books, manga, anime, and other forms of literature until we evolved. Worst of all, the genres were mostly horror and designed to make us experience these horrible scenes.
After looking around, I could see the horror on other people's faces as they also realized this.
I was no longer on Earth, or at least the Earth that I knew. My wish had been granted and I had escaped my life at the facility.
Rachel then paced the room like a drill sergeant. Her face had a smirk on it and I could tell she had done this Speech before.
Rachel: Right now we are in the manga called Dolly Kill Kill, where aliens from outer space take over the earth, causing a majority of humans to die through slaughter. If you read the watch on your hand, the mission will be stated as well as how many points you get from completing a certain mission.
She pointed at her watch for emphasis.
Woah... I didn't even notice I had this on. Though just like before, the information ran through my head and I realized God put it there as a necessary guideline.
Rachel: These points can later be used to enhance yourself for surviving later missions, making them absolutely vital if you love your life. It will also provide guidelines that you must follow if you want to make it out of this alive. Finishing a basic mission will earn you a net of 1000 points, but if you get penalized until you have 0 by the end of the mission: you die. Such penalties are given for spoilers which deduct 10 points per spoiler and killing newbies, which deducts 1000 points per newbie killed.
Again... She keeps mentioning Death. I guess that's something to expect for the majority of us. Terror films and slaughter scenes wouldn't be the same if no one died in them. Let's hope I'm not one of those who die.
Rachel: Side missions can also earn you points, but don't get your hopes up. Only the strong can hope to focus on side missions and earn points. I recommend focusing on your survival now rather than how you'll fare later down the line. Explaining this process to newbies grants you 100 points, but it only works for one person. That's all for now and 100 points for me.
I was shocked speechless. But before I could figure out how to process this new information, screams rang out from outside the room.
The mission had started and the watch beeped. I looked at it quickly: I didn't want to die. All I wanted was to live like a normal human.
