Letters & Latency II

Letters & Latency II

Dear Olly,

I write this letter on the few pages left in my dried notebook. I may never be able to send it, but I feel as if I still need to write these words.

I am alive and free, so do not worry about these things. I woke up on the shores of Botrelandt and got captured to be sold as a valuable slave, but I managed to break free when one of the shamans binding me got careless. I got the meagre rest of my possessions and stole a horse. I drove it day and night and finally arrived at the southern edge of the blue eyes’ plain.

I have read about this place in my books, but no tale or word could tell its true beauty. Thousands of lakes dot the landscape all the way to the horizon and probably many thousand more wait beyond that. The horse can’t make its way through the soft and marshy terrain, so I let it go free on the slopes leading down. It was close to collapse anyway. Tomorrow, I'll head down there.

I heard there’s a large city by the delta of the rivers draining this huge marshy plain. For now, I am alive and I hope you are too. I have not forgotten about our plans and I will not forget about you. I will have to go to the city to weigh my chances of returning to Ackarom. Either way I felt like writing this down. I have never felt this alone.

In love

Nannade.
