After a few more days the Tamaraw would soon enough its injured crew back from their rest. While the newly established organization known as the pintados initial documentation would be finished as they were awarded with a dedicated section within the ship along with quarters of their own as they were finally part of the ship's crew, with many of the adults being schooled on how to operate the allocated ship's system for requests. Allowing for management some leeway as well since most of the minor requests were allocated towards the organization.
As the crew would soon enough see just how willing the anitos were to work and earn their keep as the civvies and the other guards would see as they would answer the various requests of their benefactors all around the fleet as they earn the credits and the approval of the crew. As they were soon enough allowed to buy ingredients for cooking along with them being able to commission equipment as the ship would encounter more signs of lands while Tuskus was still within his cell sleeping quite uncomfortably as he sighed knowing too well that they were being ignored.
All in all for the fleet they were doing quite well as they had help from the anitos that were all too happy to help classify the various minerals and material that they had already procured with some being able to function as iron and more. While those in the infirmary and that of the canteen would find out more about the flora and fauna that they had gathered around the ocean. Of course all of them were getting the credits that helped them improve the facilities in exchange for their help and effort in improving much of the fleet's processes along with their inclination to being more active then their human counterparts.
As in time the admiral would soon enough wake up after getting some much needed rest only to see a familiar face one that was quite pissed at him for his reckless actions that not only endangered his life but, that of the fleet as well. "So how was the beauty rest all mighty admiral." She said as she looked at the waking man as she was enjoying what seems to be a black circular fruit one of which was one that functions as a portable sack of flavoured waters as she soon enough bit into it and soon enough sucked in the liquid within.
"What happened?" he asked knowing that the last bit of his memory was him being surrounded by monsters led by one even bigger and armed opponent. "Am I dead?" He asked as he looked at himself yet still felt the pain of being stabbed. "Sadly no but, thinking about it I would have been the worst angel to welcome you all." She said as she laughed and soon enough helped him up. "We won so don't worry but, you will be quite surprised since we gotten some new recruits and a little bit of information regarding this world along with us being blessed by some odd deity." She said making him look at her.
"Yeah one at a time but, how are the others?" He asked still sluggish in his moments as he looked at her. "You are the only one that badly beat up Jazzy and its clear that we are doing fine." She commented as she soon enough checked his pulse and his temperature to see if he was still heating up or still good for the time being. "You lost alot of blood when they rolled you here and we had to patch you but, I am not going to lie your body is in bad shape so a whole lot of sitting for you admiral." She continued as she check his bandages seeing them quite ok and still clean despite the duration that they were on him.
"You're no longer pale so that means you are no longer suffering from anemia." She said in return as she sighed. "Ok don't go over extending your body, make sure to take this bottle of pills for two months." She said giving him iron supplements to get his red blood cells in order and help him fully recover. "I'll keep that in mind and thanks." He spoke out just glad that he hasn't passed out just from that simple mistake.
"Thanks and sorry." He said towards her before she soon enough made a request to the pintados to call his brother and mother to the infirmary. "Don't panic but, you might see the anitos." She spoke out making him look on. "They are the ones you rescued so yeah your recklessness helped but, know your part of the decision making in this ship and from the look of our esteemed commander that his over worked and under paid." She teased as she was just happy to see their admiral back.
"That's good." He said taking it quite ok for the time being as he soon enough gotten up for a bit to check his body. Feeling quite numb and unresponsive as he stood up feeling quite stressed from a simple movement but, he did see that he was still managing. "Its going to feel odd for the time being but, know that its ok just your body adjusting so don't worry about it." She muttered as she watch him struggle for a bit as he gotten the hang of his new body. "Listen well and listen clearly Jazzy." She spoke out as he soon enough looked at her due to her words. "You should have been dead but, whatever this god is it seems to me that he altered our bodies." She spoke out letting him know that they were better then they were back home. "Or maybe its just the air." She added as she sighed. "Our bodies are different and I don't think we classify as humans as we did back home." She muttered.
"Look at the Badjao I know they can survive longer then what regular humans could but, now we been getting reports of them lasting under the water for ten minutes." She said letting him know that they are approaching a path that deviates from natural evolution and that they might see changes soon rather then later. "Another is that we can understand others." She spoke out making him look at her. "I know its not evolution but, from what I can muster up from Carl and Maria that its more of a auto translate flipped on for us that we can understand languages without much effort." She said letting him know of what may have been revealed while he was out of it.
"Worst is that we might know who our benefactor is." She said looking at him making him piece it together. "The Custodian Leviathan." he spoke out knowing that this was both insane and have to believe at that. "Yeah from the words of the anitos our god reveals themselves in a way and as I recall everyone in the fleet passed out and have a similar dream." She explained making him sigh knowing that they have some otherworldly being looking at them. With goals and plans none of them knows anything about. "There is alot more but, I think that we can leave with that." She spoke out before he soon enough added his own. "What about the attacks?" He asked in return.
"The gawigawen are one of the major factions of this world from how its shaped up to be." She added knowing that most of the way they run things and such were ultimately unknown or left up to interpretation. "What I could see is that each faction is protected or enhanced by a entity which they refer to as gods." She muttered showing him that this world was full of life. "But, from what I could also say is that every race here was on the blink of collapse before they came from here but, that is what I know for most parts and it seems that most of the information is gotten though the Anitos and that of the captive gawigawens." She muttered knowing that all of this was oddly far too complicated and they have no to little to the ways they could gather information. "Still no land or else you would be the only one here." She said as she was just happy with how things are working out fine for all of them.
"They did well without me." He said happy yet sad at the thought that he might be useless. "I didn't nurse you back to health just to be all doom and gloom." She said as she looked at him not wanting to hurt him due to the state that he was but, it was written her fact that she was not going to let him down himself before he recovers fully. "Listen we need you." She said with a sigh as she soon enough gave him a tablet that was quite familiar.
As it didn't take long until he figure it out as he soon enough saw the dreaded sign that was all too obvious what it was for him. "Really..." He said knowing that it wasn't even an hour before he was given plenty of work to go and do at that. "Like I said your brother is going to be happy to see you." She said out showing him that he was needed whether he liked it or not. As he unlocked the tablet before he soon enough started to work once again. One that started with a sigh as he looked at the various request and proposals but, soon enough saw done on the sides as it seems that his brother had helped him out with some of them. Along with done by a different one called Lily and another by Maria as it seems that they all pitched in to help him with the work load while he was resting.
"You all could have done everything." He teased making Maria chuckle knowing that they made sure to do most of it but, leave behind enough to make it a pain for him as well enough to keep the ship afloat as they were able to keep things in shape. "The pintados are where the refugees are think of it as a guild that is there to take on odd jobs here and there. Not specialized but, more general work a way for them to earn their keep along with some of the crippled." She said knowing that their were some that couldn't perform like they could before and such needed to join it as a way to earn their keep of course they were given enough to keep themselves onboard for the time being.
"Its not ideal but, we need it." She said knowing that they can't do charity if they can't take care of themselves. "Yeah we seem to be the underdogs hunted by their old world and hunted by the new world as well." He said knowing that the situation was stacked against them only for him to hear the doors open only to see one of the ones that he saved in the past which was something that the child remembers as well as he soon enough rushed on towards him getting to his side. "You were the champion that saved me." He spoke out as he looked at him quite glad and happy to see his rescuer. "Thank you for that and I will make sure that my debt is paid in full." He said with a bow as the fox eared kid nodded before going outside as he was happy to have fulfilled his task as soon enough his family would arrive after the kid had just left.
"Seems like you're in good shape." Spoke Carl as he looked at his brother bandaged and most of all conscious. "Seems like I no longer have to help you work." He said smiling as he was glad to see that he was able to get up after the battle. "I'm glad to know that you are doing well Jazzy." said that of Robin who was just glad to see him well and better then what he was yesterday. "How are you feeling?" She continued on making Jazzy smile. "I feel weak but, that's mostly due to Gabriella showing me a cursed image." He said before showing the tablet which made Carl smile as he soon enough patted his back to let him know just how glad he was to see him back in action.
"Now see you back in action." He said patting his back making their mother sigh knowing that the two would likely go back to fighting minutes after one of them just got better. "Yeah for now let me get back in working shape ok." He continued on as he looked at Carl. "I'll bail your lazy ass later." He replied as he yawned out while he asked for some clutches as he wanted to get back to work knowing that his work might double if he rested even for one more day. "Thanks for this Gabriella hope that I don't end up here again." he said knowing that he can't continue to waste the medicines they have but, from the looks of it that he was just glad to know that all of them were working out well.

"Thanks for the help." He said as his brother would soon enough place his hand on his shoulders as he lifted him up. As he moved to get out of the clinic as he wanted to get back to his duties as fast as he could have as he would get his brother to bring him towards his office while he would send out the notification of his recovery and that he was to return. As he would get to his quarters with his mother and sibling in tow.
"You can rest for one more day you know." Spoke out by Robin as she was still unsure if his sudden return would be good on his wounded and tired body. "Don't worry mom but, its that I can't let the paperwork pile up and I know for sure that its better to get them sorted out knowing that I've rested enough." He spoke out making Carl nod.
"You should be able to pass the documents that we helped out just that we needed you to look at them and read so you know of what we proposed." He said out knowing that the first documentation for the organization was there and while he needed to sign it before it becomes a thing they did need to bypass it knowing that they have talked and debated on the ideas as to create an effective organization to help out with smoothing the various processes found within the fleet with many of them being deliverymen and messengers.
Along with gatherers and analysers as well since the people who can were often busy to out of their respective offices were often busy and that often saw that placing commissions were easier due to how the Anitos were quite fast and eager to prove themselves that they were worthy of this fleet and a part of its crew. While the prisoners were slowly giving them information but, it was taking too long. But, he soon enough saw it which was the Tuskus problem namely the offer of him being a guide in this strange new world.
While an enticing offer the fact remained that his people did attack them without much of a warning. Along with the fact that he could eagerly lead them towards an ambush if allowed such power. As such he would use to read up on the new lore along some parts of the revelations regarding their own as he was using his last day of rest for work as he encircled facts and boxed the unsure as he sighed knowing too well just how all of this doesn't make sense and that they needed to adapt to what seem to be a high fantasy kind of world with gods and divine acts all clear and evident from the looks of it. One that he knew too well that if they ever did get bogged down in a war they would lose easily despite their ship and their stockpiled weapons. As while they might inflict alot of damages towards their enemies the fact remained that every battle would be a pyrrhic battle at best due to the amount of men and ammunition they needed to sacrifice in order to force their enemies to heed or stop one that would ultimately leave their colony to ruin and a slow and hopeless descent.
Especially when said colony doesn't exist yet. As while he needed to ensure that they were secured he knew too well that it was better to avoid the fight if they could. Especially when they don't know much about the capabilities of their enemies and if they could match them up since all that they could reference from was the sudden attack from gawigawen privateers who were there to specifically hunt them all down one that sent them plenty of injured and two dead. As it seems that they knew that the only way to defeat them was well known which was to bleed them dry showing him that they were mostly there to bleed them and run one of which didn't happen when their ship went rogue or their commander became too eager for glory it seems but, as it so happen he would read and see to it that everything was in order as he sighed and looked at the two.
"So you are telling me one of them wants to guide us and another is telling us that we are blessed by god?" he asked making him sigh knowing too well just how messed up all of this was but, for Carl he would only reply with a nod knowing that while all of this made no sense it seems that everything was moving towards that. "We can talk with them without much of a problem and it seems that we haven't had to worry about who was telling the truth or not since our blessing seems to allow us not to learn every language but, to know their meaning." He muttered in return knowing too well just how this helped them with diplomacy in return.
"It did make sense when we conducted the interrogation but, we can only confirm it only when we see a multitude of races which the two says is the case." he spoke out in return making sure to let him know that this was one of the evidences onto the anitos testimony and explanation and we can confirm it after the gawigawen are more cooperative." He muttered in return.
"I'll do it tomorrow since I wanted to know much more then what we have now." He said in return making Robin sigh knowing that the two were back to work like nothing happened. "Jazzy I would want to request your presence within the engineering centre." She spoke out as she wanted him to see the commissioned weapons from that of the beastkin at that. Knowing that they might be using their rations she did come to understand that they might be able to help them since their designs were quite interesting and quite powerful in return. "Didn't we halt weapon production?" He asked before she soon enough nodded but, she soon enough explained.
"Well they do have the credit just that everything is still new and basic it seems." he spoke out knowing too well that this works well but, it could potentially destroy their supplies with ease. "Well seems to me that we might have a problem with this but, I do think that its clear that we need every edge that we could get but, for now try to conserve the fuel since being a sitting down is worse." He said one that his mother nodded. "That would be true but, seems like we can fix the issue if we have a new one right?" She asked as she soon enough shown him the interesting find they gotten from the remains of the flesh ship.
"While I would like to show it to you tomorrow but, I present to you the new power source that we can tap in." She declared before letting him see what it was. "Well specifically the anitos would call these things the fire stone one that generates heat and perfect for our engines uses oil at the moment but, essentially every engine functions quite similarly towards a steam engine. We use a fuel source that could heat up fast and for a long enough period which evaporates water or oil creating steam which applies pleasure towards a turbine spinning or ensuring that the engine does so for a predictable length of time." She said trying to explain it to him only for him to look at her smiling but, quite lost for it.
"heat sources get hot, water boils, steam turns everything." She dumbed down making him nod since it was easy. "Well we lack the oil to keep the engines running so why not create an engine that runs on an indigenous ingredient?" She asked at that making him sigh. "While you are the expert its clear that we need machines to create an engine. We will waste too much trying to manually create an engine plus we do not know about these stones wouldn't they explode or worse destroy the electronic systems of the ship." He answered back as she knew that he was right with that assessment.
"If we are going to create engines to replace the ship but, what if we can reroute some of the systems towards a smaller engine a proof of concept that will allow me to explore such an engine since eventually the Tamaraw will be grounded one way or another if we do not find oil to replace our reserves." She muttered in return making him nod since that was fair. "How much do we need to allocate?" He asked before seeing her extend her tablet towards him letting him see that the plan was there and he needed his approval making him skip towards the needed materials but, she also saw that she needed credits as well since she could commission for the pintados to source the materials needed by hunting for terror rocks all of which have the perfect material since being a material that was not able to rust and a material that they could get within their current environment.
"The plan is to create an engine mostly comprise of the materials that we have found and with the help of the anitos and some insights from the gawigawen its clear that these materials are perfect for the engine to be. "Of course this is not my speciality and we would be exceeding our current oil rations but, I believe that making the engineering centre run on such an engine will help boost our oil supplies and eventually once we gather enough raw materials we can start remodelling the Tamaraw." She spoke out in return letting him know that she was up and eager for such a thing in return.
"Well this would work out well." he said knowing that everything was working and plus it was better to have the means to work the materials that they have already procured since the weapons that they gotten from the privateers were also made out of the water iron as they had gotten suggesting that the iron was quite common enough for general use and its ability to not rust when exposed to iron makes it ideal for a steam engine of a sorts.
"Of course I would not guarantee success and this is still a gamble since we are going to pay alot of credits to them giving them more power and access to our supplies." She spoke out knowing that they were using it to get food and also weapons hence, they might give them power and such they needed to benefit from it or else they might take a hit regardless plus from the documents itself that she was also going to need take in materials from their own supply since the stainless iron they found was only one of many that they needed to find plus they also have a limited supply of the mana stones.
"I do want to see how it works too and such this project failure or not will benefit us alot regardless of the outcome." She reassures making him nod since if she was this eager to justify it then it was good enough for him plus giving the anitos might be good since it allows them to buy whatever it is that they needed from us and I think they might look at it as us trusting them so yeah I'll greenlight it." He said knowing that he had to give her credits to pay them for the work that needed to be finished by them. Since the rock eels were dangerous and could end with some of them being due to the pain.
"Noted for now I'll give out the commission." She said as she was happy with this as she soon enough placed her hand onto his shoulder. "No more going to be a hero alright you two are my boys and I won't let you die without giving me some grandkids." She said making the two cough at the sudden nature of the topic. "We haven't even landed and you are already eager to have us make a family?" Asked that of Carl as he was still unsure on whom to make a family with and plus there was his coffee dream as well.
While the two weren't chaste it was clear that most didn't have children due to the current state of the world and having to bring kids in such a bleak world is quite frown upon before the gate came. All in all the two just had a bad break up that left them quite eager to pour their lives into their work. "No more excuses from you two start thinking about it or else." She said as she left giving the two the pressure of an eager mother.
"We'll get to it once we get to it." Spoke Carl knowing that they had to still focus on everything else for the time being. "After I plant my coffee." he added in return as he sighed knowing that the two were going to have to start trying. "Maybe we're just infertile you know." He added scoring him a swift jab from his counter part which caused him to shut it. "We're busy." He ended as he focused on the job. "Lets think of it once we land all of that comes after plus we're still young no need to rush things." He spoke out as he was quite irritated at how sudden it was knowing that their mother might just wanted them to think about their futures now that their was a good chance that they have something to look forward for.
"Yeah lets just rest up." The commander replied as he soon enough shook his head as he sighed knowing that it was time for them to just relax and have some time to figure things out as he waved goodbye as he closed the door and let him rest up knowing that the world that they needed to do was vast and unending but, lessening with ease passing moment with land coming to an end.
