Humans are weird

Humans are weird

They really are, my species is from the neighboring galaxy. We were what we call the progenitors of that galaxy and came to the “Milky Way” as the humans put it. We weren’t sure if there would be any sentient life just yet, as it was the first galaxy we had visited.

Upon entering we were greeted nearly instantly by an unknown ship sending multiple types of transmission, some of which we still don’t understand. But after communicating for a while and pressing our intent for friendly relations we finally met them as they sent a delegate to our ship.

The delegate in question sported whole body armor and a helmet that covered their head. The whole suit was intriguing but hardly the thing we noticed first. What really got us is that they looked just like us but taller with much more muscle. Bipedal with two arms and one head, the only question left was what color was the skin and what did it’s face look like?

They introduced themselves as ambassador Crystal. The voice even sounded similar to ours and if I wasn’t mistaken by the lumps on their chest, they were female. She took off her helmet and I felt very odd indeed. I’ve learned from the humans that it’s something called the ‘uncanny valley’. Meaning that you see something that resembles your race so closely but very obviously isn’t, and somehow that triggers an instinct inside of you that makes you attracted to it yet also want to run away.

And boy was I attracted. She had short yellow hair, I now know is called blonde, with blue eyes and her ears. Her ears were round! Her face more round than most of our race and her build was exceptional. I later found out it was about average for a human but it still felt like she could easily break my arm if she had wanted to.

After introductions we have her a tour of our ship and talked some politics. I noticed that the men on our ship couldn’t keep their eyes off of her, not that I could blame them. I too stole glances at her figure from time to time when I thought I could get away with it. Even the women on the ship would stare, some with envy, and others seemed interested in the same way the men were. Homosexuality is not common in our galaxy so this definitely was unusual. After the entirety of our interaction was done there was gossip on the ship for weeks.

We and the humans were in contact to set up trade and transportation to integrate our societies together as we seemed to mesh together so well. As it came to our attention that humans were also the progenitors of this galaxy! Was it something that mamilians had in common? Either way, soon enough we had our own human on board. Humans were generally treated as the muscle on our ships, which was a mistake that was quickly corrected. Humans were just as intelligent as we were if not more so. That begged the question as to why they never left their galaxy. It seems they were busy creating new life to join them! Can you believe that? Not finding but creatinas uplifting life because they were the only intelligent sentient life in their galaxy at the time! It’s no wonder they were more advanced than us, they were busy being gods while we were simple explorers.

I was one of the first in line to have a human on board as security and expected much of the same as what I had initially encountered with ambassador Crystal. But when the hulking behemoth of a man left the air lock I was stunned. He sported no armor but held multiple bags the size of me. He stood a whopping six foot and four inches tall, making it so he had to duck under most door frames. First stop for repairs I intended to have that fixed. The man who introduced himself as Bryan had so much muscle I wondered how he could even move. Later after I mentioned his incredible size he showed me images of something they called “body builders” and I now think that Bryan may be a little skinny for a human.

Bryan claims to be proficient in all forms of combat and is capable of learning how to use any weapon as his main job was a mercenary for multiple species. Some were still primitive but we’re allowed contact for one reason or another and he would join wars with guns, swords, and even his bare fists if necessary. I don’t think many of the women listened very well at introductions as Bryan’s shirt was clinging to his body giving away almost exactly what he looked like underneath.

In the coming weeks we came to realize that our mannerisms were nearly identical as well, only the occasional mistake thinking his growling was a warning when he used it as a simple confirmation or that the rumbling in his room we heard was him sleeping while we thought the human had gone feral. That one was worth a laugh after a day or two.

The biggest issue on ship were the women. To our species, humans were oddly attractive, almost all of them. And the new human guard didn’t seem to notice. Half of the time he would leave his room to get a snack or some water in his underwear leaving nothing to the imagination besides what shape his reproductive organs took. He’s had plenty of our women flirting with him although he may be too dense to realize it. There was one case where after he finished his exercise routine he left his room covered in sweat to get a glass of water, and of course the idiot was still half naked. We had to physically restrain the females on board for a whole hour to stop them from causing a sexual harassment case. I’ve decided i need to have a serious talk about things with him soon, and it’s totally not because I want to know if human women find us attractive at all.
