The leader of giants continued his massacre of the outpost.
Stomping and slicing.
He was often called The Goliath, but that was because none of his enemies knew what else to call him, if they survived to speak of it.
The perfect yet almost grotesque specimen. Full strength and height but no mercy or kindness, except to his brother and his closest warriors.
Leviathan, Beast, Colossus, Titan...all names used for him.
His name was Jalut.
The poor men ran around the outpost, trying to get their large catapult and spears made for the giant horde.
A few men hid behind a wooden fence.
The fence was knocked in by Sippai, the leanest and tallest and most alien looking of all the giants.
Like a stick bug monster, he stomped around, then grabbed a few men and stabbed them through his spear like a beast going over a flame for a meal.
He let them squirm as he stomped around.
Jalut grabbed one poor farmer and threw him in the air, as another giant threw a blade, like a game, cutting the person in half in the air.
Some of the other giants raided the farm house and animals.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
Jalut laughed at the horrible scene, then turned.
His brother, the smallest and youngest, watched from afar.
Jalut waved for him to join, but Lahmi could not. Not yet.
Jalut nodded, then looked at a poor farmer hiding in the river, shaking like a snake.
He marched towards him, and the farmer screamed and soiled themselves out of fear.
"Tell me your name." The giant's voice literally hurt the ears.
The farmer couldn't speak.
"Fine. You have nothing to fear from me, because you are to tell the tale of the River Giants. This water is ours. These crops are ours. Your house is on our land. Do you understand? Go. Tell all of the horror you have seen."
The farmer nodded and ran from the river into the wilderness.
Jalut looked to see what his brother was doing.
Lahmi was kneeling, looking at something.
"Brother," Jalut's voice echoed across the valley.
Lahmi looked up, afraid, but did not move.
The Goliath walked towards him.
Lahmi opened his eyes again, as that fine day kept coming to him. He wished he could just sit and remember all of it, but the procession was taking forever.
The once young giant now marched forward towards a huge open aired fortress in the harsh mountains.
The other giants were waiting for him.
For their direction and inspiration.
Really, they wanted to know one thing.
When they would attack next.
