Amelik looked at the bodies around him.
Faked a laugh.
The three brothers could not see his face behind the mask. If they did, they would see fear and anger.
"Saying something, Amelik?" Abishai said.
"The giant killer has a mouth," Amelik whispered behind his mask.
"Let's see your mouth, demon!" Joab yelled, as he pointed his bloody sword towards his enemy.
"That's an interesting word," Amelik responded, as he walked towards the three brothers.
"It's not a word. It is a thing. A thing not to be trifled with or in league with," Abishai retorted.
Amelik didn't respond at first.
"I will make sure the last horrible thing you see is my face," Amelik announced.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
Amelik ran forward in a supernatural like rage.
"Me first," Joab yelled.
He met Amelik with swinging swords.
The swords snapped back and forth in a violent movement, but Amelik then kicked Joab out of the way with a brutal push from his boot.
"Next," Asahel said as he ran at Amelik.
As soon as he was there with his quickness and speed, Amelik was ready, and grabbed the youngest by the throat, lifted him, and tossed him across the clearing.
Asahel rolled and collapsed across the ground.
"And now," Amelik started.
But Abishai had already taken a step and lunged his spear as hard as he could.
The spear went through Amelik's mask and into his head with a brutal thud.
Amelik stopped turning and fell to the ground, with the spear sticking up like a tree.
Joab and Asahel slowly recovered and walked towards their brother, whose anger was cooling.
"Was he not expecting that?" Asahel joked.
"No more joking," Abishai said harshly, as he pulled the spear from Amelik's head.
Joab waved his brothers towards him.
"If the fallen king is now up for this, anything goes. Back to camp. Now. And no, Asahel. We don't want to race!"
