Giant Attack

Giant Attack

Beniah rode his horse hard through the dark forest.

His expert athletic and equestrian skills were in a full display, as he turned his marvelous black beauty of a horse through path and channel, branch and wood.

The monstrous horse snarled at the pace, but seemed to enjoy it. The horse also wondered if it's rider knew where they were going.

Beniah was not lost. But not in search of a destination.

He just knew what to look for.

And soon he found it.

The field where the three brothers were attacked was filled with bodies, and now birds having their meal.

Beniah jumped off his horse and drew his sword, and slowly walked forward as the birds scattered.

Friends and brothers in arms were on the ground around him. Some who would've been in Swordfall.

Beniah shook his head slowly, then stopped when he saw Amelik.

The mask had a perfect hole through it.

Beniah tore the mask off the face and turned and looked no more upon the scene.

The horse was whining.

"What is it girl?"

Stomping in place. Restless. Scared.

Suddenly, a guttural and war like SCREAM and ROAR came from the forest.

Beniah jumped on his horse.

He rarely showed fear on his face, but he definitely showed adrenaline.

"Giants," he whispered, as he then got the horse galloping again.

The roar came again.

Beniah's steed galloped as hard as it could, back into the haunted forest.

The trees broke forth as the 10 to 12 foot giant emerged, and Beniah could barely see it in the darkness of the woods.

Huge and muscular and violent. Human but barely, as it had snarling teeth and weapons and armor and an animal like intensity.

Beniah spun the horse away from the reaches of the creature, as it stomped after them, then grabbed a part of a broken tree and heaved it towards them.

The horse and rider spun another way off the trail, as the tree collided with the ground and rolled. They went back into the darkness, as Beniah refused to give up the gallop.

The giant stopped as soon as it started, but growled into the daylight.
