Chapter 25

A massive force landed on my chest suffocating me, causing a muffled scream to escape my throat. The weight shifted, and I felt my ribs creak, In desperation, I summoned water constructs shaped like giant hands, and pushed blindly with full force, the pressure lifting slightly, but not enough to allow my body to breathe normally. I tried pushing harder, but a strange sensation in my throat prevented me from exhaling properly disrupting my concentration, and the blackness started to close in on me making me lose focus, and water constructs disappeared.

In a moment of desperation, I commanded Zai and sent a wave of icy air blasting towards the creature freeing myself, but The impact sent me falling to the ground, and I coughed violently before rolling over onto my back. The creature, a giant humanoid monster with dark purple skin that glistened like jade under the moonlight, loomed over me threateningly.

The creature let out an ear-splitting howl that echoed across the forest, and I could feel its rage and hunger radiating off of it. I scrambled to my knees, keeping Zai at the ready, and faced the monster head-on, ready to defend myself with everything I had.

It had a man in its jaws, and as I pushed myself upright I saw it shake him like a dog with a rabbit, after the man stopped screaming the creature dropped the man all the while gazing straight at me with eyes glowing golden yellow. It then turned and dashed straight at me, so fast that I couldn’t even see what happened until I heard the crunching sound of bones shattering and the scream of pain. I fell flat on the ground, my head pounding and my vision going blurry, on instinct, I constructed a water barrier around me as I tried to heal myself as quickly as possible. My arms shook from exhaustion and pain as I held a water barrier around myself, but I couldn't get away. I was trapped, unable to move anywhere. I closed my eyes as tight as I could, feeling tears pooling up in them. Why did I have to meet with this creature here?

the ginormous weight once again landed on my barrier as my eyes flew open, sinking my feet three inches into the soft ground below me, As a way of counterattack I sent out a Water blast but Despite my efforts, the pressure only lifted slightly, and I struggled to catch my breath as I felt my ribs creaking under the strain. Suddenly, Zai sent a flurry of images, urging me to run. Without hesitation, I followed his advice and gathered a water bullet, firing it at the ground below me. The force of the blast sent me hurtling upwards, just over the beast's head. For a few long seconds, I hung in the air, giving me a chance to unleash a flurry of ice and water blades at the creature. However, my attacks barely left a scratch on the beast's tough hide.

With a sense of dread, I realized that my attacks were barely making a dent in the monster's thick skin. The beast was easily the size of an elephant So clearly I was going to need something with more power than that to deal with it.

I needed a new plan, and fast. As I landed back on the ground, I felt the weight of the creature's presence bearing down on me. I tried to create a barrier, but the creature's strength was overwhelming.

As it reached down to swipe at me with its massive claw, I dodged to the side and sent a blast of water strong enough to blast a hole through solid steel at its face, hoping to blind it.

The water hit its mark, but to my horror, the creature didn't seem affected at all. Instead, it let out another deafening roar and charged at me with renewed fury.

With no other options left, I decided to put all my hope into Zai and prepare for a final attack. I raised the sword high above my head and commanded Zai to send a massive blast of ice energy toward the monster. The blast hit its mark, sending the creature tumbling backward and causing the ground to shake with its impact.

For a moment, I dared to hope that the creature was defeated. But as the dust settled, I saw the monster rising to its feet once again, its eyes glowing with a fierce intensity, its body riddled with frost and ice crystals, and its claws glinting like they were coated with silver. Its tail whipped around wildly trying to find my whereabouts.

"Fucking hell...!" I breathed, staring at it with wide eyes."Zai!" I screamed, grabbing my sword and pointing it at the beast sending a hurl of Ice bullets directly at the base of its neck. "Zai! Now!" I yelled once again and a beam of Ice Energy blasted against its head, knocking it off balance momentarily, which gave me the opportunity to charge towards it I conjured the water and pressurized it, and then forced it through a tiny ice nozzle creating a water laser sword. I aimed the tip directly at the creature's forehead, intending to end the battle right there. Unfortunately for me, the beast's reaction was too quick and it leaped forward to avoid my attack, catching the blade on its shoulder instead of its head. the blade went through the beast like a hot knife going through butter slicing off the beast's arm clean off. I gagged as I watched the blood spray into me, the warm liquid spreading rapidly across the landscape splattering onto the ground. I stumbled backward clutching my stomach as I tried to keep the contents of my stomach inside, choking back bile.

My heart raced as I conjured a water ball to clear my vision, frantically searching for the beast. I knew from past experience that a wounded beast was a dangerous one. With my heightened senses, I finally caught sight of the creature and prepared to defend myself.

With quick thinking, I cast a second-grade defensive talisman, creating a golden-colored defensive layer just in time for the beast's jaw to close on it. The shield protected me, but the pressure from the beast's jaws threatened to collapse it. Sparks flew in every direction as the shield crackled and groaned under pressure.

I drove forward while it was distracted, I conjured another jet blade of water, this one three feet long instead of my usual one and only an inch in diameter, and slashed across the beast's throat.

With one swift strike of my blade, the monster's head rolled off its neck with surprising ease, and a rush of hot blood drenched me from head to toe. I didn't waste any time and continued moving forward, ignoring the sticky feeling of the blood all over me.

As the beast fell back, its head hitting the ground with a loud thud, its red beady eyes stared lifelessly ahead. I quickly retrieved the rosary beads and placed them in position, activating the Seven Water Formation for added protection.

Breathing heavily, I took a moment to catch my breath and assess my surroundings. The forest was eerily quiet, the only sounds coming from the rustling of leaves in the wind and the occasional hooting of an owl. I knew I had to move quickly, as more beasts could be lurking in the shadows.

I gripped Zai tightly, summoning a wave of water to surround me as a protective barrier. The man's beady eyes locked onto me, and he let out a guttural laugh, revealing a mouth full of jagged, yellowed teeth.

My heart nearly stopped as the giant suddenly produced a hand axe from thin air and hurled it at me with lightning speed. I had barely laid down half of the sixty-four nodes needed to activate the defensive formation. This was the problem with relying on formations; while they theoretically granted the power of a golden core level practitioner on the eighth layer of qi refining, the amount of time it took to lay them down and activate them was simply too long. By the time I was even halfway done, the enemy would already be closing in on me. The most I could do was activate some minor, first-grade formations that were practically useless in battle.

As the glittering mass of iron spun toward me, time seemed to slow down, and I couldn't help but be mesmerized by the complex interplay of forces around it. My mind was swimming as I watched the axe streak past the clearing, almost as if it was happening in slow motion. My limbs felt heavy, and I replayed each movement through my memory, analyzing every detail.

Why?

I had no fucking clue?

Zai's screams snapped me out of my trance-like state, urging me to move as he showed me continuous images of the axe tearing through my already frail shield as if it was never there. The world around me seemed to come back into focus, and I realized that I needed to act fast if I wanted to survive.

I was left with no other option but to act fast. So, I frantically reached for an exploding talisman and swiftly placed it on the ground, triggering its explosive power. The violent explosion propelled me backward, causing me to crash onto a pile of lifeless leaves, branches, and twigs. Struggling to get back on my feet, I assessed my surroundings and was startled to see a colossal axe lodged into the ground where I had been standing moments before. It had created a gaping crater on impact, making it clear just how powerful the axe must have been.

I took a step back, readying Zai and preparing for the worst. The Giant's eyes gleamed with primal fury, and he let out another deafening roar. At that moment, I knew that he was not someone to be taken lightly.

I could feel the sweat beading on my forehead as I watched the man and his wolves move closer. They circled me with a predator's grace, their eyes never leaving me. I took a deep breath and focused, ready to face whatever came next.

Without warning, the Giant charged towards me, his axe held high.

"Fucking Hell"

I quickly sidestepped using a second-grade light body talisman, avoiding his first swing by inches. The force of the blow sent dirt and debris flying into the air, obscuring my vision.

I leaped back, narrowly avoiding the jaws of the two wolves as they lunged at me. My heart was pounding in my chest as I dodged another strike from the Giant's axe. The sound of metal clashing against the earth filled the air.

My mind raced as I desperately tried to come up with a plan. I knew that I couldn't keep dodging forever. I needed to find a way to gain the upper hand in this fight.

As the Giant swung his axe for another strike, I quickly cast a spell freezing The ground beneath his feet froze instantly, causing him to slip and stumble. With lightning-fast reflexes, I lunged forward and sliced at his exposed back with my blade.

The Giant let out a deafening roar of pain and rage as blood gushed from the wound. His wolves howled in response, their eyes glowing with fury. I knew that I had made a grave mistake.

Without a second thought, I activated a Second-grade fire talisman, sending a wall of flames shooting toward the wolves. They yelped and backed away, their fur singed and smoking.

But I had no time to celebrate my small victory. The Giant had recovered and was charging at me once again, his axe held high. I knew that this time, I wouldn't be able to dodge his attack.

With a surge of determination, I too rushed in an effort to counterattack.

It was bloody Insane, Yes I knew that this wasn't my best decision, but I figured being unpredictable was my best shot at surviving this.

I activated another second-grade defensive talisman 'Earth Armor' even though, I knew it wouldn't provide much protection against a weapon as large and deadly as the Giant's axe, but I had to try something. I could feel the weight of the situation bearing down on me, and my mind raced as I tried to come up with a plan of action.

JUMP?

Hell, NO! he'd probably see me and if he attacked me mid-air I would be screwed.

THE WATER BLADE TORRENT?

No, that thing required too much concentration and I wasn't so sure that I would be able to maintain it long enough for it to do any good.

ICE SPIKE?

NOPE, that thing looked too weak to do anything

WATER CONSTRUCTS?

ANOTHER NEGATIVE, the giant was way too big and strong for my water Constructs to do anything

The giant was now close enough to strike me, I knew I had to act fast, but my mind was blank. I couldn't think of a single plan or strategy that could help me defeat the Giant and his wolves other than that.

I felt a surge of frustration and anger welling up inside me. "Bloody hell," I muttered under my breath, "I'm getting too dependent on Zai and the water jet blade."

I had no choice but to get creative, despite feeling overly reliant on Zai and my water jet blade. I quickly manipulated water toward the ground beneath us, turning it into a thick, muddy quagmire. Then, using ZAI, I froze the first few inches above the ground, allowing me to move freely without sinking.

Meanwhile, the Giant's massive weight caused the frozen surface to crack almost instantly, and he stumbled and fell face-first into the ground, sinking knee-deep into the muck. Before he could even react, I leaped six feet into the air using my light body talisman and conjured a powerful Six feet long stream of pressurized water through an inch-wide ice nozzle and used an air blast spell I charged toward the fallen giant to ram the slender lance of water jet into the giant's head.

The giant let out a piercing scream as the water lance pierced through his skull, causing him to writhe in agony. Without mercy, I manipulated the water to form a spinning blade that tore through his head, reducing it to a grotesque mess of blue and white gore that splattered all over my body.

As the giant's body went limp, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief mixed with disgust at the gruesome sight before me.

I staggered back, gasping at the sudden cold brought on by the giant's blood seeping into my clothes. As I turned away, my eyes widened when I saw giant teeth coming at me, the wolf teeth pierced into me bypassing my earth armor, the pain causing me to scream out loud. I fell to the ground, the wolf's teeth still embedded deep within me, and stared at the sky, tears pouring down my cheeks like a fountain. My hands trembled uncontrollably as I lifted my head slowly and stared at my attacker. But another piercing pain from my torso rendered me unable to make a move. I felt every bite every scratch as the two wolves mulled me over for a few seconds before I mercifully lost consciousness.
