The capsule. Start of a new era

The capsule. Start of a new era

The door to her room open. Her brother was leaning against the door. His eyes wet. "Si-Sister, did you fight with dad?"

She gave him a short hug and looked him in the eyes. "Listen to me Lau Su. There will be big changes tomorrow. You are still too young to be part of the change as of now. Your sister will be away for most of the time. Sometimes just a day or more, but sometimes even longer. There will be great things in the future. You might not understand it now, but you will in the upcoming time."

"I understand." The younger brother said somewhat sulkily.

"It is good that you understand. You can use my PC in the meantime. Don't stay outside for long and go to school."

"Wait, don't tell me summer holiday got cancelled." Lau Su had a worried expression.

Luo Si nearly collapsed, having neglected how much of a troll her brother was." No. You can still enjoy your time off. Alright, let's eat something and then go to bed."

Tired out and light headed from the blood loss she only prepared some raw dishes. There was nothing else she could do since she had not been in the kitchen for a long time.

Luo Si woke up the next morning. Her body felt very exhausted. It had taken the full brunt the previous day.

Today was the day to look forward to. A new era would present itself to the world. The miracle itself. Hospitals and graveyards were yesterday. Hello cultivation, goodbye mortality.

The bandages were disposed of before taking a shower. Her wound had stopped bleeding but still hurt. Others would have searched for a doctor. But knowing how to take care of this botheration she walked it off.

News were running on the television as the siblings sat together, enjoying some fried dough sticks. The clock was ticking. If focused on every second passing felt like an eternity. Luo Si recalled what she had been through. Not just yesterday but her whole life. Most of it was blurred without much sense behind. All the hate, sadness and achievements would be rewritten as they had already become her very foundation. She knew she would walk a different path then others from the very start. Preparations were not needed as everything she needed was herself.

She stood up and walked to the window as the clock showed 8:59. She counted the seconds louder and louder. …3,2,1. Her brother looked at her with a puzzled expression, wondering what his sister was up to.

Snap* She snapped her fingers as to play god calling for a phenomenon. From this point onwards earth would enter a new time period. An epoch that would tremble the universe and mankind.

A white light encompassed the whole earth, followed by multiple, simultaneous ear shattering thunder strikes. The anomaly ended as suddenly as it had appeared. However, it had left something behind. Something in endless numbers.

Meanwhile in the Guilin hospital.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

"Sir Qi I think it is time to put an end to this."

"Hai…" Mr. Qi was standing on the entrance. He had arranged the staff to bring his daughter on a mobile bed to the entrance, waiting for a last miracle to arrive, but it seemed all had been in vain.

He held the hand of his unconscious daughter as a last memorial moment. "I am sorry my child. You must have suffered these past hours the most, if only I had listened to Dr. Goo Se, but don't worry. When I get my hands on that little rascal who had given me this false hope I will… I will… "

Thunder strikes*

"Umm… Sir." A nurse tipped on the praying self-talking father as she could not believe her vision.

"What. Can't you see I'm… I'm…" When he stood up to give the nurse a piece of his mind his eyes opened up in disbelieve. White, roller sized, cylinders stood everywhere. As if they just had been put down by anybody.

"What are you waiting for. Get me one of those barrels. GO! GO! GO," He hollered, not wanting to waste any time.

The staff dashed at a barrel. They swung their arms around one, ready to lift the roller up.

"Are you even lifting?"

"Are you on my side?" They put all their might in lifting the barrel, only to realize that the barrel was not budging one bit.

Wrum* Crash*

A car drove neared the hospital with speed way over the speed limit. Without regards to traffic laws it slithered on the parting line it crashed right into one of the barrels erected in the middle of the road. "Argh!" The driver jumped out of the car after he was saved by the air bag. "My La-Lamborghini. Who put that thing here? Which bastard?"

The car owner was enraged. Mr. Qi had witnessed the crash, still mesmerized by the sudden arrival of foreign objects. His expression changed from surprised to shocked, seeing that the barrel did neither moved, nor bend in.

He looked back at the staff, who tried their outmost to even tip the vessel to the side, without success. "STOP!" He shouted after understanding why Luo Si wrote to bring her outside. The barrels were fixed in place. "Come back and help me put my daughter into the closest barrels."

Every barrel missed the lid. Making it easy to put Qi Xian inside.

The top closed directly after she was lifted inside. Everybody took a step back, ready to witness any new phenomenon. 10 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute passed. Nothing happened. Mr. Qi went from patient, to worried, to scared.

10 minutes passed and other people had already started to fiddle with other barrels. Some elementary school children slipped from their dazed parents' hands and played with out of place objects.

When one went inside, the barrel closed. The parents nearly screamed at the sight, but exhaled a sigh of relief seeing the lid disappeared the next instant. Many other older people could not restrain their curiosity about these strange objects as well, letting the same thing happen, when they stepped inside one.

Though, when a young adult stepped inside a barrel and the top closed, it did not open immediately afterward.

The father could no longer hold it and approached the white cylinder. He knocked on it, but there was no echo. In fact, there was not even a sound when he punched against the human sized roller. He tried to open the top, first gently, but as time went on with more and more might.

The top disappeared. However, it was the one the young man had entered.

The doctors had inspected him from the distance since his company, composed of two youngsters, went mad when the top did not disappear the next instant, he had entered. The doctors did not notice anything special from his appearance from the distance, but could hear a loud conversation.

"Damn Tao. We thought we had lost you to aliens. Um... didn't you have a blue eye just a minute ago?" One of the friends said.

"BOYS! You will not believe a word I will say. This is the craziest shit I have ever seen. I don't know which madman could come up with this shit, but I'm telling you, this has to be the most amazing game I have ever seen. Get in one and you will see. By the way, to return, just press your hand on the wall with the giant cross." Tao was yelling in ecstasy before rushing back into the barrel.
