It's magic

Bright smiles appeared on his friends faces as they rushed to the next ones. The barrels closed and didn't open again.

The doctors were puzzled. "A game, that's all? Then what was the purpose of putting the girl inside?"

Another young doctor said after some thinking. "Wait. Didn't one of them say that is blue eye disappeared. Don't tell me."

The head doctor chipped in, annoyed from the fact that it seemed to be a new game. "Hah, do you honestly think, injuries would be healed from a game? Don't be childish. Besides, Qi Xian is not injured, but sick and on deaths doorstep. If she really comes out in top shape, I will give you my position as head doctor. She probably already died."

An hour had passed since Qi Xian had been placed inside the barrel. Mr. Qi had given up on forcefully opening the cylinder. His wife was sitting on a bench, crying her daughter's name, while he was leaning against the cylinder, pleading for it to open so that he could have his daughter again.

He was numb and tired from all the stressful worry. "Please open, please give me my daughter back."

"Dad?" A weak voice sounded above his head.

"Not now Xian Xian. Don't you see that I'm begging for YOU~!" His mood rose exponentially, recognized his daughter's call. The father sprung up meeting small fingers that grabbed onto the barrels edge.

He grabbed onto the hands and lifted the person inside up. After verifying the person as his daughter, he hugged her deeply in his embrace. "XIAN XIAN, you're alive, you are alive."

"MY BABY, my baby is back." Her mother ran towards the hugging pair and enveloped both in her arms.

The doctors had bulging eyes and open mouths, especially the head doctor. On the opposite, the young doctor smiled brightly.

After some minutes of celebrating the reunion, they released their locking arms. Mr. Qi still needed to catch Qi Xian, as she was about to slip.

"I haven't used my legs in a long time so I'm still weak." Qi Xian had a complicated smile on her face.

The cylindric object had worked wonders on her. Her skin was no longer pale and had a rosy color instead, making her weak body looked more energetic. Her face looked nourished and full of life and no longer like a dead puppet.

"That is okay. As long as you are with us everything is fine." Tears were still running down his face.

The doctors came up to the miraculously healthy-looking Xian, doubts clouding their mind. "Miss Xian, we need to do a checkup, to see if you are really healthy." They received a distrustful glare. So far, their opinion treatment had not been the best. "We mean no harm. It's just, this is just so un... unprecedented. Who knows, maybe you have received an extremely potent short-term drug that would keep you alive for some minutes and kill you the next." The head doctor could still not believe what he had become witness of and tried to find a justified reason. He wanted to know what caused this unscientific happening.

The checkup followed right after they entered the hospital. As the diagnosis proceeded, she got asked what she had experienced herself. She answered truthfully that she had at first woken up, not inside a white, but in a dark environment. She had no idea what was going on seeing many unfamiliar individuals regurgitated from a certain wall. A wall impregnated with a bright crystal X. Much talking swirled around. Yet, she could only understand most of it. Districting the loud mating calls all that was picked up was some talking about books and NPC's. Qi Xian crawled her way to the wall with the X after finding that she could move again and witnessing someone stumble back into the exit. She herself was surprised that her body had regained so much health. When she placed her hand on the door, she found herself back in the white barrel.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

The story sounded very weird in the others ears.

If it was an abduction by aliens, why would they let them return to earth?

On the other side, if it was a game, why would they cure their players? Was it a new strategy to promote their product the doctors quivered just thinking about the cost of not only curing their patients with miracle-like medicine?

Besides how did they install those barrels and what are they made of? The aged ones were pretty sure that the government would not allow this.

The questionable looks became even weirder, when the results came out. Judging from the data, the girl, who had been nearly dead an hour ago, was physically no different from any other casual girl.

If that was true, wouldn't this mean someone was treating many people for free.

The television inside the hospital had its program switched to a news report. Strange events had taken place all over the world, leaving behind countless gaming capsules. Even the presidents stepped forth, "My subjects, do refrain from getting in contact with the foreign object. Until the situation has been clarified, stay at home. We, the government, will not be responsible for any loss."

Back at Hong Luo Si's apartment, half an hour earlier.

Snap* Blinding Light* Thunder strike*

"Wow." Lau Su said impressed. "How did you do that? Can you do that again?"

Luo Si closed her eyes and shock her head heavily. "Again? Maybe in 100 years. Sadly, it will not be as welcoming and joyous as this one."

She opened the front door. "I am leaving. Don't you want to see your sister off? I will even show you one last magic trick."

"Yay, magic." Lau Su jumped up in an enthusiastic way.

They stepped outside. The young brother was even more fascinated by the strange dozens of white vessels that had not been there before.

"Do you want to go and take a look inside?" Luo Si knew her brother's nosiness the best as they stood in front of an unoccupied one.

Lau Su nodded and was heaved inside. The top closed and opened. Lau Su looked questioning at Luo Si "That's it? Nothing happened."

"Of course, nothing happened. That is if it's someone like you." Luo Si answered with a smile.

"Someone like me, is there something wrong with me?" Lau Su made a sad face.

Luo Si laughed. "Let's just say, this thing knows you. Don't pull a long face. Wait till your next birthday and you can use it too." She explained with a happy expression. Inwardly though, she was worried. Worried about a reappearing past. Her brother had become one of the first confirmed cases that disproved the new wonder's harmlessness.

She knew that Lau Su would not experience anything strange. Just like any video game present, there was a benchmark. But it was not based on capacity or other hardware. This new product was a wonder in gaming technology through and through as it had a manifested age restriction. Luckily once entered the access remained permanent.

The older sibling could only speculate about why that was. The most reasonable sounding solution was that this span of time was the most suitable to start with what this 'game' had to offer.

"As for the magic trick," she jumped onto the vessel, sitting on its edge. She pulled up the jeans of her dangling leg. "Do you see this scar?"

Lau Su nodded with a sad face, as he clearly remembered him being the cause of this small accident.

"I will make this scar disappear, forever." She jumped into the barrel the top sealed itself.

30 seconds later, she jumped back on top, and rolled back her jeans. The scar had disappeared. In fact, her entire body had gone through slight changes. The overall changes were just too miniscule to notice.

"Tada!"

Clap*

Her brother clapped in astonishment. "Do it again, do it again!"

"Sorry, this trick only works once." Luo Si shock her head. This supernatural only happened the first time one entered SR.

"Alright, I really need to go now. See you tonight." She stepped back into the white bucket.

"Um, but you are just some dozen meters away." Lau Su replied. Yet, the vessel was already sealed.

Lau Su was in disbelieve and quickly ran up to another and hammered on the inside for a last time. "Hmph, I am already in middle school. Already a man... forged in the fires of preschool for two whole years I even learned the ancient fist strike 'television unflickering'."

The barrel remained unmoved by Lau Su's bargaining. Dejected, Lau Su could only withdraw for now.
