Summoning Argentina and the Falklands Islands
Chapter 18: The game of the Kelpers.

Chapter 18: The game of the Kelpers.

British Embassy, Buenos Aires.

British Ambassador Mark Kent was having an emergency conversation with the governor of the islands, the worst had happened.

Huge crowds of people appeared in front of the embassy, a protest by the Argentine people when they learned that the Falklands had been transported with them.

The crowd could be heard chanting loudly.

"Tras su manto de neblinas,

no las hemos de olvidar,

"Las Malvinas Argentinas",

clama el viento y ruge el mar.

(Behind their blanket of mist,

we must not forget them,

"Las Malvinas Argentinas",

cries the wind and roars the sea.)

Ni de aquellos horizontes

nuestra enseña han de arrancar,

pues su blanco está en los montes

y en su azul se tiñe el mar.

(Nor from those horizons

our ensign must not be torn,

for their white is in the mountains

and in its blue the sea is dyed.)

Por ausente, por vencido

bajo extraño pabellón,

ningún suelo más querido,

de la patria en la extensión.

(For absent, for vanquished

under a strange flag,

no dearer soil,

of the homeland in the expanse.)

¿Quién nos habla aquí de olvido,

de renuncia o de perdón?

Ningún suelo más querido,

de la patria en la extensión.

(Who speaks here of oblivion,

Of renunciation or forgiveness?

No dearer soil,

of the homeland in the expanse.)

Rompa el manto de neblinas,

como un sol, nuestro ideal:

"Las Malvinas Argentinas

en dominio ya inmortal".

(Break the blanket of mists,

like a sun, our ideal:

"Las Malvinas Argentinas

in dominion already immortal".)

Y ante el sol de nuestro emblema,

pura, nítida y triunfal,

brille, oh, Patria, en tu diadema,

la perdida perla austral.

(And before the sun of our emblem,

pure, clear and triumphant,

shine, oh, Motherland, in your diadem,

the lost southern pearl.)

¡Para honor de nuestro emblema

para orgullo nacional,

brille, oh, Patria, en tu diadema,

la perdida perla austral.

Brille, oh, Patria, en tu diadema,

la perdida perla austral.

(For the honor of our emblem

for national pride,

let it shine, oh Motherland, in your diadem,

the lost southern pearl.

Shine, oh, Motherland, in your diadem,

the lost southern pearl.)"

"Damn it..." The ambassador was in his office accompanied by members of MI6 and the CIA. "Governor Phillips, tell me you have good news with the war against Parlpadia."

"I'm sorry sir, but many ships were sunk and severely damaged by the krakens attack, we won't be able to carry out the attack plan without leaving the capital Le Brias dangerously unprotected."

"Is there any way the attack can be carried out?" asked one of the CIA members.

"The only way to protect Altarus is for HMS Dauntless to protect the island from possible invasion." Replied one of the island's generals.

"That's out of the question, if the Argentines found out about that they would attack us directly!" Said Governor Phillips.

"What about the nuclear option? Bomb Essthirant at once so that it is no longer a threat." Proposed the American.

"I don't know if the Argentine high command already knows about it, but if we confirm to the civilian population that we have nuclear weaponry and are willing to use it it could result in increased anti-British paranoia and give the president an excuse to militarize the country to deal with this threat. Even if there is no war that could mean a hostile Argentina with its own nuclear weaponry by the time we return to our world." Counter-argued an MI6 agent.

"And that means more Chinese and Russian influence in the southern cone."

"But we can't let Altarus down either, without them we will be completely cut off from the rest of the world as they are our diplomatic window to Mu and Leiforia." Ambassador Kent was thinking of some way to solve this. "Do you know what the public opinion of us is?" Asked "Mr. Jhonson" one of the CIA agents.

"From what I have been able to gather from my contacts in the media, most believe that the British garrison will surrender peacefully if they start talks and that they consider that they are not a threat, there is a minority group who believe that Argentina should send a an army and force you guys away at once but most believe that this would only cause unnecessary deaths." Responded the agent.

"I understand..." The ambassador stood up, having thought of a strategy. "Let's start talks with the Argentines."

"WHAT?! ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Governor Phillips could not believe his ears, no one in that room could believe it, not even the Americans. "WE REFUSE TO SURRENDER WITHOUT A FIGHT!"

"We will not surrender, calm down governor." Mark reassured him. "This is just a cover to buy time, once we make the announcement that we are willing to reach an agreement to cede the islands to them we will leak what happened on the Rodenius mainland and about how the president ordered the assassination of the king of Louria in a clear terrorist attack along with all the constitutional violations that was sending in the air force and navy without the knowledge of the people or the senate. We will also expose the imperialist treaty with Parlpadia and his activity in social networks when he was a teenager, although people will not be able to actually prove that they are real, it will still be useful as everyone will be on a witch hunt against the Argentine president and everyone will be willing to believe that it is real."

The governor paused to pour himself a bottle of scotch, a bottle that would be worth thousands of dollars and is impossible to get any more for obvious reasons. "When Argentina is in chaos we will postpone talks with the excuse that we don't want to be ruled by a dictatorship and that we will reopen talks with a democratically elected president."

Agent Jhonson was beginning to smile. "President Medina will not be able to invade you to divert internal conflicts as you would make public your desire to be part of a democratic Argentina, which would allow HMS Dauntless to sail in support of Altaras since there would no longer be a threat of invasion."

"Exactly, that's why I want you to help us convince the Argentine population using your contacts with the media, we must sell them the image that we are going to give them the islands voluntarily."

"That's something I can do, but when the Argentines find out that you were lying to them they will be furious~"

A day later.

In front of the embassy, a crowd of journalists were present, recording and taking out photographies, being broadcast live on every existing channel, it would not be an exaggeration to say that all the televisions of the country were tuning this moment.

On a podium, the British ambassador was finishing his speech to make the big announcement.

"For these reasons explained above, the British garrison on the islands is prepared to begin negotiations regarding the transfer of sovereignty with the Argentine Republic over the... Islas Malvinas." For Mark to say these words felt like a sacrilege, like the greatest betrayal and that deserved to be sent to a firing squad, but to call the islands in another way so that the Argentines would bother.

On the other hand the Argentines began to celebrate in the streets, hundreds of thousands of people went out into the streets with a flag behind them, a great day of celebration for all the Argentine people.

A week later those same streets would be filled with angry people, demanding the head of their provisional president.

"This guy is not voted anyone, who is believed to be to trample on the constitution in this way?" said a journalist of the Telefe channel.

"This man is a murderer! A warmonger and imperialist scoundrel who legally intervened in a serious conflict to exploit the natural resources and people of this world!" Said one interviewee for TN.

"Breaking news, the president's now-defunct twitter wall is leaked, where we can find racist comments and-"

"President Cristobal is a neo-Nazi scum and homophobe who-" The program showed a picture of a fifteen-year-old Cristobal with a swastika in the background.

"President Cristobal is a communist who promotes gender ideology and-." The program showed a photo of a Cristobal in a first year of college posing with members of a left-wing political group carrying banners with socialist things written on it, Che Guevara's shirts and LGBT flags.

"Polemic photo of the provisional president in a religious and pro-life where-"

"Last moment! British suspend negotiations: "We are willing to work alongside democracy, we do not kneel to dictators." The Malvinense governor, Phillips, claimed." Said a Cronica channel headline.

President Cristobal Medina was barricaded in Casa Rosada, looking out the window as a million people were in Plaza de Mayo demanding his dismissal.

"Mr President... the nation's senate has approved a process to begin impeachment proceedings against you for crimes against humanity." a police officer said.

"I understand... you come to take me into custody?" The president had an expression of defeat on his emaciated face. When the announcement was made that the British were willing to surrender the islands he believed it was his triumphant ticket to win the election, but now everything had collapsed. The officer wasn't answering.

"Why did this happen? I did nothing wrong! Louria was going to coerce a genocide!" That's what he argued, but the media didn't report that, in fact there was no evidence that that was the case. " I should have let Louria conquer Gim so they could be massacred and prove my point to the whole country? No! In no way would I have allowed that to happen!"

"Mr. President... you could escape to Quila." The officer proposed. " The president of YPF is grateful for the power you have given him in that kingdom, Agustin is also talking to Qua-Toyne to give you political asylum."

"Oh, I understand why there are riot police protecting me from the mob when I no longer have power."

"He has more friends than he thinks, friends with power. In the police and the army there are many who appreciate you." said the officer taking a seat. " You did the impossible to keep the country from disintegrating when we were brought here, allowing our men convicted of trying to hold the country together to be free in Qua-Toyne."

"If by keeping the country together you mean killing protesters..." he said recalling the chaos that was the streets in the past. " Although right now I am the biggest responsible for this country being on the verge of collapse."

"The truth is I see the country more united than ever demanding your head," he said with a giggle.

"I think you have reason..." Giving a sigh. " So... I should prepare a helicopter and leave as what happened to De la Rua?"

"Exactly, that or stay here until I'm ordered to arrest you and stand trial or until a miracle occurs."

"... Although I might escape I doubt it will be for long, I doubt Qua-Toyne or Quila will refuse to extradite me if the new president demands them. They wouldn't dare challenge Argentina in any way. Nor am I someone who believes in miracles."

"So you're going to jail voluntary?" the officer asked.

"I could but... I prefer to wait until the last moment, the politicians of this country charged me to do all the dirty work and then discard me, so I want to give them some headache if possible." Cristobal turns to go to the exit of his office. "The media accuse me of being an imperialist madman? Then they will have the imperialist madman! I'm sick of this and if I'm going to end up in jail then I'm going to make sure I leave the stage in style!"

British Embassy.

Popping champagne, the British and American officers were celebrating in the office, the plan had been a great success.

"HMS Dauntless is on her way to Altarus, once she arrives the Altarian fleet along with HMS Ambush will set sail for Fenn and then Duro." Justin Mcphee, the commanding officer of the FIDF, said.

"Perfect, how is the diplomatic contact with the powers going?" Asked the ambassador as he listened to the chaos that had taken over the country.

"Mu has refused to open negotiations with us, since they stopped supporting Altaras they have preferred to stay out of it." Governor Phillips replied.

"We have discovered that sudden change of alignment...I thought Mu was the main buyer in the second civilization of those magic gems." Asked an MI6 agent

"Apparently they fear that the decline of Parlpadia means the rise of another superpower whose borders they share, especially since the power in question, Leifor, has allied itself with a mysterious nation that suddenly came out of nowhere." Explained the governor.

"A country that appears out of nowhere and has a large military force to make a superpower ally with them despite being a country outside of civilized areas... Do you think maybe that country is the United Kingdom?" asked the American.

"It is a possibility, however if it were our homeland then they should have tried to communicate with us after the scandal we made in Esthirant." Justin replied, however he really wished that were true.

"However our efforts to get closer to Leifor pay off, if these allies they have are in fact our countrymen we will find out."

Esthirant.

Ambassador Agustin had finished showing a video exhibit on Argentina to Ambassador Muan, who looked amazed at the things he had seen.

"Of course we will! We don't always have the opportunity to send a delegation to another science-based country like we do! If everything shown in the video is true we will be more than happy to sponsor you for the ascension test so that you will be considered a legally civilized country before the world!" Said Ambassador Muan excited to get that technology. "I can't believe those Parlpadians didn't volunteer as your promoters, they missed the opportunity to get a powerful ally like Leifor did!" he said to himself.

"Excellent! Although at the moment it's not possible to visit the capital for security reasons, you know, protocols to avoid possible information leaks..." Information such as that the capital was on fire. "However I'm sure we could agree on a specific date to get everything ready."

Although Agustin was worried about his friend, he had a job to do and that was to open Argentina to the world. There had already been countries that had approached them, mostly countries of the second civilization, however the opening of relations with those countries could not go beyond acknowledging each other's existence without first asking Parlpadia's permission due to the treaty they signed, Mu was the first nation outside the Parlpadian area of influence to attempt to communicate with them.

"Damn, I knew it was going to end this way. Even though I was in favor of intervention in Louria assassinating a head of state was too much." Agustin reflected on the whole situation as he went about his work as a diplomat. "I hope you can get out of this, Cristobal, you really tried but it seems that the political elites are eating you alive."

Having already dismissed the diplomat Muan, Agustin lets out a sigh, wondering if he will be able to keep his job.

After finishing his work, lying on his hotel bed, he could not help but laugh.

"Oh Cristobal, so you're calling out for your edgy phase? Well, that's what you get for being an attention whore and then becoming a politician."

He was about to take a nap when suddenly a thought hit his head, a thought that made him shudder to remember the most cringe moments that Cristobal had when they were children and he questioned him about his questionable ideas.

"No... he wouldn't dare..."

Fenn Sea, night.

With all this going on in the world, a fleet of 30 Parlpadian ships was approaching the shores of Fenn, landing ten thousand soldiers.

The commander of the land combat forces, Bertran, was mounted on a horse, observing the flat landscape before his eyes after disembarking without any resistance. The cover of night had protected their arrival and they were ready to attack the nearest town at dawn, the city of Nishinomiyako.

"Those stupid Altarians and Falkladers thought we were going to let them use Fenn to attack us? They are wrong, this nation of traitors will burn and make an example of anyone who rises up against us."
