Stalking the Stalker

Stalking the Stalker

With the bit of distraction that I had from the two who had been mostly beside me in this whole ordeal, I decided to get back to my task at hand; that was, to follow the one who had caught my interest. I know most would think there was something wrong with me for even wanting to do this, and maybe there is, I really don’t know. I had been quite conflicted in how I should feel about this. I don’t really know when I had made a decision, however I had decided I was just going to do what I wanted without worry. What would be the point? It’s not like holding myself back was going to do anything for me on this abandoned property. It’s not like I had a reputation I had to uphold since we are not in civilization apparently. Why should I hold myself back?

“I’m going to get going. Be careful not to get caught by him for you may not be able to pull off what I did.” I gave Kate a quick hug and Dwight a pat on the back as my personal “see you later” to them. In a way I didn’t want to leave them for I did not know if I was going to see them again unless they were getting hooked or killed by Michael. Of course, I didn’t want that to happen to them, but it was a high possibility. When they gave me odd looks like they were wondering where I was going, I just waved and walked off.

As I walked, I looked around the last place where I saw Michael Myers. I even looked at the ground for his foot prints. Sadly, there were none as far I was able to see. In a way, I had known this was going to happen if I had stayed and chatted a bit. I had no one to blame but myself for this and it was okay. At least I knew they were safe and that was what kept me going. My brown eyes looked around the surroundings for any movement that pay possibly be human. All I saw was corn swaying in the soft breeze. With a soft sigh, I continued to walk around the farmland that was looking the same after a while.

I knew he was somewhere around; I just didn’t know where. He had an advantage since he seemed to know the area. Whereas I was still learning and getting lost. No matter what, I was determined to find this tall man who kills for the fun of it. He was something to admire and a force to be reckoned with. Somehow, I found him oddly appealing with his traits of determination to hunt his prey. The way he silently moves like he wasn’t there to begin with was also quite impressive. I have to wonder… what he would be like if he was normal. By normal, I mean, didn’t try to kill people and actually socialized. Perhaps he’d have a sense of humor. The popular kid perhaps. Or maybe remain as the quiet one. There were a lot of options and sadly none of us would know. Maybe in some alternate universe, he really is a nice chill guy.

With my thoughts running rapid in all sort of directions, my eyes stayed on the lookout as I walked around. My feet had begun to hurt for I had been walking around aimlessly for a while with no sign of Mike. Really, I wish I had kept a better eye on him, but I also missed talking to someone. Keeping my head high, I looked in every direction, near and far for Michael Myers. He couldn’t have gone very far for I already knew the parameters of the property. It was big, yes. Big enough for a corn maze anyway. Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if there was one once. Though, that would have been a very long time ago judging by the state of the farm house.

Finally, my eye sight caught movement in the far distance. Avoiding any debris that would give away my position, I crept up closer to where I can get a closer look to what he was doing. Once I was close enough, I noticed a girl in a dirty pink top with glasses running around and looking behind her. And there he was, the man I have been following this entire time or at least have tried to. He was chasing Claudette around the barn again. Did she think that’d be a good spot to run him around in without getting hit? I watched as he tried to hit her with his knife but ended up missing as I watched behind a green tractor.

The black-haired girl jumped through a window, but not before he was able to slash her. From where I was standing, it looked like she fell through the window while screaming in pain, but I couldn’t be too sure since I was too far to hear anything which was fine by me. I was glad that karma was finally getting the science girl though for being a coward for finally it had caught up to her. While they were both in the barn, I had lost sight of them until I saw her running back out while holding her wound as the red liquid flowed past her fingers. Soon enough, he was walking up behind her with little to no effort and eventually caught up to the blendette. There I saw him slash at her again and she fell down onto the dirt. As I remained where I was, Claudette scrambled to get away from the killer. Michael did no pick her up immediately, instead he watched his victim crawl inch by inch away from him; almost like he was toying with her.

When he finally got tired of her crawling away, he eventually picked up and threw her over his shoulder. I had to follow him from a distance to see where he’d hook her which was away from the barn this time where she struggled to get out of his grasp. Instead of dropping her, he ended up putting her back on the hook again. This was the second time she had been hooked. Would the same fate befall her as it did Jeff?

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

As the killer walked away from the hook, I waited for a couple of seconds before following him. At this point I knew what I was doing. I was stalking the stalker killer. One doesn’t hear that every day. I made sure to keep up with him at a decent pace, but eventually I do want to make my presence known. Though, I did know he wasn’t going to take kindly to my being near him. In fact, he’d probably run from me again which would make me quite disappointed yet again. Sadly, we didn’t get far when we heard Claudette scream from pain which told me Kate or Dwight had taken her off the hook. It was clear from the way Michael was acting that he heard it too for his attention turned to the direction. I really needed to buy the two some time so they wouldn’t get hurt. With a smile I stepped in front of the masked man and batted my lashes at him while giving him a little wave.

“Hi daddy Myers, bet you missed me.” I had given him a wink and he had tilted his head at me again with confusion. More than likely, he was wondering what wrong with me again. But that look did not deter me for I had moved closer to him as he had stepped back. “Don’t hurt my feelings. You don’t want to do that, do you?” I watched as he turned away from me and begun to walk away. “No baby, don’t run from me!” My feet automatically started to move as I chased after him in quick pursuit. “I love you! Stop running from me daddy Myers!” Still, he kept moving away from him as I chased him. It made me wonder who really was the one playing cat and mouse at this point since our roles had become reversed.

I continued to follow Myers around, never stopping a beat even if I was fatiguing myself. It was worth it though. The thrill of following someone who was so feared in Haddonfield, Illinois was quite electrifying. But that is not why I did it. No, my reasoning was personal. Very personal. It was utterly hurtful whenever he just runs away. Eventually, I found myself behind a wooden structure watching him still. He looked in many directions like he was looking for me before walking off in the direction of the hook.

Immediately, I had set off to follow him since his guard was down. It didn’t seem like he thought I’d follow him again which I didn’t understand why. Wasn’t that something he did? Stalk his prey? Wouldn’t he have known that one should never have their guard down if they knew they were going to be followed? Perhaps that was the issue; he didn’t think that’d I’d keep pursuing him. That was his mistake to make. I had followed him all the way back to the rusty meat hook where Claudette was no longer hanging. I was proud of myself for buying them time, but even I knew that one cannot recourse someone who was so determined else they get burned as well. Plus, when it came to the science girl, I personally didn’t care for what happened to her especially after what happened to Jeff. I still couldn’t get over it. It’s like it had been imprinted on my mind for good.

Michael stood by the hook for a good few minutes. It was weird how he was just standing there; was it possible that he was listening for the other survivors? I stayed hidden within the cornstalks, making sure I was crouched down and hidden so he wouldn’t run off again. It was clear that he feared me. Soon enough, he heard something from a near distance and I followed him chase the sound.

The longer I pursued him, was when I realized he was chasing Kate and Dwight who were next to Claudette. Then I was filled with awareness; the man known as “The Shape” was purely going after science girl. If her friends didn’t move out of the way they were going to get hurt, but it seemed he was ignoring the two and solely focused on the one he had hooked twice already. Why were they not moving away from him? While I kept up with them and staying hidden at the same time, I saw Michael had raised his knife before lowering, slashing at his victim. Yet, he missed her for she swerved out of his way and instead pulled my best friend into his hit instead, making my blonde friend get wounded.

A quiet gasp had left my lips before I could stop it. I felt anger boiling under my skin as I watched Claudette betray one of those who had helped her and on the other hand, I felt bad for my friend, Kate. I could only hope that Dwight would take my friend away so that Michael’s focus was solely on Claudette only. My eyes remained on the tall killer and it really did seem like he had super tunnel vision. He was only focused on the blendette. Relief had filled my lungs. For the time being, my dear friend who sometimes annoyed me, was safe. I hope it stayed that way, but we don’t know for how long we are trapped on this property for.

I didn’t stop what I was doing to check on my friend but I was relying on the nerd at the moment to take care of her. I continued in my pursuit of “The Shape” as he continued to stalk his prey. While I trailed after the two, I watched as he slashed his knife down onto Claudette and she moved out of the way at the last second making him barely miss her. The timing was impeccable. He stabbed towards her and again barely missed her. This was getting ridiculous, how was she dodging so well? She wasn’t even athletic! Where they were running to looked like a shack and she tried jumping through the window but he had caught her and with smooth movements, placed her on his shoulder. She was wiggling around trying to get out of his grasp. My eyes remained on the scene in front of me as I watched him place her on the hook. Claudette made a blood curdling scream before it just stopped. Just like that. She died on the hook like her body couldn’t handle it anymore. But sadly, I knew who he was going to go after next.
