A small blue light appeared on my dad's chest, it's not working, the healing spell is too weak.. Realizing this I tried pouring all my mana into it. The small blue light started to grow and shine brighter. A blinding light is excelled; rays are coming from my dad's body. The guards had their eyes open wide, not realizing what is going on, they had never seen something like this happen since every spell has their limits but what they saw was a basic healing spell becoming more proficient and stronger.
Although the duration of the spell lasted 5 seconds, my body felt heavy and slow. My mana pool was completely drained and eventually the blue light that had appeared on my father's chest had faded away. Examining my dad's body through drooping eyelids, I could see that it worked, it actually worked! There was no scars or gashes on his body, they completely healed. A small smile crept up on my face. At least he's okay now.
I turned towards the guards and asked
"Where can we stay till my dad wakes up?"
I may have healed him, but he did lose too much blood. One of the guards, the same guy who called me a burden, walked towards me, kneeling down beside me and my father. He had short black hair; he had sharp and determined violet eyes. He looked like he was at least in his late 30s.
"Boy, my name is Leo Aiken; I'm the captain of these fellows. You can both stay at my place till your dad wake up."
"Thanks for letting us stay with you Sir Aiken. My name is Neil Caesar and my father is named Lance Caesar. I'll make sure we repay you for being so generous towards us."
One of the guards carried my dad as we walked towards Sir Aiken's house. It was located in the eastern part of town. We arrived at a two story house, it was quite big and had 5 rooms, me and my dad stayed in the guest room. The guest room was made out of polished timber. We had two double beds, both on opposite sides of the room. The guard placed my dad on one of the beds that were placed next to the window and left the house. Sir Aiken told me to rest first which I nodded. He then left us alone. I took one last glance at my father peacefully sleeping and then I went to bed.

My eyes cracked open, sun rays shining in my eyes. I turned to the side and saw my dad, and I sighed in relief. I really hope he wakes soon. Since we are already in town, I might as well go to the MAGE GUILD and test my mana proficiency so we can leave once my dad wakes up. Mum must be getting worried about us.
I walked out of the room and down the stairs towards the lounge. I could hear noises in the kitchen. I walked towards it and saw a woman with long brown hair that reached her hips. The unusual things about her appearance were that she had long floppy ears, above her ears were two horns curling backwards, and she also has a short white tail. As she turned around, I caught a glimpse of her face, she has a mature face and even though she was in her early 30s, she was a beauty capable of capturing many men's heart.
"Oh! You're awake just on time; breakfast is getting ready to serve. My name is Cecilia Aiken, but you can just call me Cecilia. As you can see I am a goat beastmen. Please make yourself at home."
"Good morning, my name is Neil. Thank you so much for letting me and my Dad stay here."

"You're very welcome. Can you help me set up the tables?"
She asked with a gentle smile, I didn't mind helping, it's the least I can do since me and my dad are staying at their place as freeloaders. I set up the table and down while Cecilia served us both. Looking around, it seems Sir Aiken has gone to work. During breakfast Cecilia asked me questions concerning why a 3 year old would travel with his father to this town, I guess it's reasonable for people to get curious so I answered truthfully, it's not like I have anything to hide. After hearing my answer she offered herself to go with me to the MAGE GUILD to get tested which I really appreciated since I don't know my way around this town.
Cecilia showed me around town, giving me a brief explanation of all the buildings we passed. Eventually we then found ourselves in front of a large stone building; it has three levels and on the sign was written MAGE GUILD. After we went in, we were taken to the counter; a teenager girl was at the counter asked us what we need. I told them I need to use the mana orb. The mana orb is a blue sphere the size of a person's head; it examines the amount of mana that is contained inside the person's body. The girl gave me a strange look and pointed us to the examination room, it was on the 2nd level to the right and you would see a sign that says 'Mana Examination'.
We walked into the room and many adults were lining up to use the mana orb. The first in line put his hands on top of the mana, closed his eyes in concentration, seconds later... The mana orb didn't give any reactions. The man got irritated and started swearing but the security dragged him away. The second person in line was a girl, she was older than me by at least 20 years, she too like the man before, placed her hands on top of the mana orb, seconds later... The mana orb showed a reaction and glowed, the girl was so happy that she jumped up and down; the other testers in line gave her envious looks which then she ran out of the room.
When it was my turn, people around me started laughing; they even started to bet whether I would succeed. Many mage from other rooms also came in to see what was so funny but then they too also started laughing. Cecilia who was beside me stared at them, their mouths shut completely. I walked toward the mana orb and placed my hands on top of it. Unexpectedly a strong pull was drawing out my mana, the mana orb started glowing, slowly shining brighter until it shone so bright everyone in the room was blinded. Seconds later my mana pool was completely emptied and the light slowly dimmed. A bright smile appeared on my face as I turned around. The expressions on everyone's face were flabbergasted. Cecilia ran up to me and lifts me up high.
"I didn't believe my husband when he told me you were a talented mage but... you are gifted my child!"
I too didn't think I would have that much mana as well. My efforts over these three years were not wasted. The people who laughed at me had their eyes wide open and their jaws dropped. They stood so still you would think they are statues. Since we got my results we should leave, when trying to leave, many mages came up to me and asked if I wanted to be their disciples which I flat out refused. Who do they think they are? Before my anger got the best of me, Cecilia dragged my hand and ran off trying to lose those irritating people. We then went back to her place, when we arrived we saw a lady who stood in front of the house. A familiar lady, her long bright red hair was swaying in the wind. As she turned around to face us, my jaw dropped open in shock.
