Chapter 72: Revenge

Silk, being dragged away by the Green Goblin, attempted to gain some sort of balance in the air to set herself free. As the Goblin messed about on his board, Silk's body flailed around, not allowing her to reach her leg.

Giving up, she webbed a nearby building and yanked herself toward it, causing the Green Goblin to lose balance and fly without control into a building.

He crashed through multiple apartment rooms as Silk trailed behind him before coming out of the other side and aiming upward in an attempt to dodge the next building. As his board clipped a building, he lost his footing and fell off the board, sending it crashing onto the roof of that same building, sending Silk with it.

As both the Green Goblin and Silk lay on the ground for a few seconds, Silk stood up and untied herself from the glider. At the same time, the Green Goblin stood up and began to laugh as Silk approached him with furious footsteps. He could tell by the look in her eyes that she had killing intent. This aroused him slightly, causing his excitement for their pending battle to grow stronger. Silk stopped about ten feet from him and began to speak with a chilling, ice-cold voice.

"Why did you do it? Why did you kill that child? And plant those bombs? You were going to kill more kids? The fuck is your problem!?" Her voice trembled with hatred as her adrenaline levels began to overwhelm her.

"Awe, did you know that poor oriental boy in that apartment building? Who gives a damn about his unremarkable existence." The Goblin stared directly at Silk's eyes, gauging her reaction to his words. Upon hearing her brother's existence being disrespected, her eyes exuded insurmountable detestation for the creature in front of her.

"As for the other kids… Well, I wanted to show you that being a hero is meaningless. You, that other bug, and the Osborn child."

"So you did it to prove a point?" Her voice still trembled. She was in disbelief at how the Goblin spoke about his actions as if they were a game. He truly was only doing these things out of spite for his son and the spiders meddling with his business.

"Precisely! Now you know exactly what happens when you play the hero, don't you? Ms. Moon?" The Goblin's disgusting smile was not seen but heard as he uttered Silk's true name. She attempted to keep her poker face, but her eyes gave him all of the information that he needed.

"I wonder who the other spider is? Is it Parker? I figured it'd be him for a while now. I would have attacked his family too but... there's nothing left that he loves!" The Goblin laughed like a maniac as a knife extended out of one of his gauntlets. "Except for maybe one last thing. One last person, perhaps."

Silk said nothing. Slowly, webs began to seep out from her fingertips, forming claws made of webs around them. The Goblin looked down at them, grinning under his mask as he could sense her lust for blood.

Silk didn't care anymore. If getting revenge turned her into a monster then so be it.

Like a beast stalking her prey, Silk stood with her claws pointing at the Goblin, craving to rip his body apart. Silk's mind was completely empty, all she could feel was agony and abhorrence toward that freak in front of her. She was certain that she was going to kill the Goblin right there at that moment. She didn't care what Eren said about her regretting the decision. Without him there to hold her back, nothing would stop her.

Without hesitation, she dashed at the Goblin with her claws trailing behind her. Once he was within striking range, she slashed downward toward his torso. With his arms behind his back, he swiftly dodged to the side, starting a chain reaction of Silk throwing out a rapid barrage of clawed swipes.

With each dodge, the Goblin began humming and laughing breathlessly as his confidence began to skyrocket. Silk was fast. She was even faster than Eren when he wasn't using Godspeed to enhance himself. However, due to her anger causing sloppiness, along with the Green Goblin's own enhancements, the Goblin was able to keep up.

After getting bored with defense, the Goblin swung his wrist blade horizontally toward Silk's chest. She leaned backward, allowing the blade to whiz past her face.

Before he could recover, she grabbed his arm and flipped him over her body, slamming him to the ground.

Without even letting him do so much as take another breath, she pounced at him, pointing her claws down toward his masked, green face. In reaction to her attack, he spring-kicked her backward, sending her flying through a skylight and into a museum behind her.

She crashed through a T-rex fossil display, breaking it into pieces before slamming onto the ground and rolling on the floor. In reaction to the hero crashing into the building, the patrons inside the museum begin to scream and scatter, as the Green Goblin levitated downward using his hoverboard.

A diabolical chuckle escaped his lips as he extended the spikes on the front of his glider and boosted forward toward Silk in an attempt to impale her with them. She quickly flipped upward onto the wall, attaching herself to it with two hands. This caused his blades to get stuck in the wall beneath her and leave the Green Goblin vulnerable to an attack.

Silk kicked him in the chest with both legs, sending him back into the rest of the T-rex display, completely destroying it. The Goblin slid across the ground in a pile of bones until he reached a wall, slamming into it. Silk walked over to him like a starving carnivore before webbing him by the foot and yanking him toward her. Using his blade, he cut his leg free and began rising to his feet.

Before he could fully stand, Silk aimed a jumping kick at him, which was blocked by his forearms, followed by a spin kick. The Goblin ducked the spin kick and attempted to counterattack, however, Silk ferouciously hammer kicked downward right onto his face as if she defied gravity.

The hammer kick pushed him to stumble back a few steps, just before being immediately met by a spartan kick to the chest, sending him flying into a wall and destroying the painting hanging from it. Before he could recover, Silk shot her webs from her fingertips, yanked him forward, and spartan kicked him once more into the wall. This caused the wall to weaken further, as Silk sprinted toward him and delivered a powerful slice to his face, ripping a part of his mask off and revealing half of his face.

With a full-powered punch, Silk punched the Green Goblin in his half-masked face, sending him bursting through a wall and crashing into a glass art display on the other side.

Silk stepped through the hole in the wall as she followed the Goblin into the wreckage. The entire area was filled with dust, blocking her view of everything in the area. She approached the debris but noticed that the Green Goblin was nowhere to be seen. However, there was something hidden beneath the rubble.

𝘽𝙊𝙊𝙈!

One of the Goblin's pumpkin bombs exploded in her face, this time being some sort of grenade that shot out a mysterious purple liquid that completely blinded her. "AAAAH!" she shrieked in agony as her eyes were in so much pain that she could no longer open them to look at her opponent.

"NORMAAAN!" She let out a rage-filled shout, clawing randomly in front of her in hopes that she'd somehow slit his throat with her blind attacks.

However, Silk was suddenly struck in the back of the head with a metal pipe, her Silk-Sense being of no use to her as she was too furious to listen to it.

"Tisk! Tisk! Tisk! See what happens when you play the hero!?" The Goblin's snide voice mocked the now blind spider as she lay on the ground helplessly. Silk placed both hands on the ground and began trying to push herself back up on her feet.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

The Green Goblin once again struck Silk in the back with the metal pipe. His crooked smile could be seen through his broken mask as he appeared to be really relishing in her pain. With his foot, he flipped her over to face him and used the metal pipe to slide her mask down and reveal her face.

"Cindy Moon! Just as I thought. So that must mean the other must be that poor, poor orphan Parker. Fucking Parker!" The Goblin slammed the pipe down at Cindy's chest with such power, that blood spewed from her mouth and one of her ribs certainly cracked. "Now he's no longer of use to me. Ahh, Parker. Oh, well. Plan B!" The Green Goblin paced with the pipe on his shoulder as he talked to himself before attacking Silk with it once more.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

He slammed downward onto Silk's chest once more, causing her to yelp and convulse in pain as she aimlessly tried stopping it without her sight.

"You almost put up a good fight, unlike your little brother." The Goblin cackled as he dropped the pipe to the ground and extended the blade from his wrist. He took a wide stance over Silk, smiling disgustingly as he held it above her throat. "Sayonara, Silk! Say hi to little Albert for me!"
