Chapter 62: Sannakji

"An hour has passed since the explosion at Oscorp. Luckily, thanks to Spider-Man, it has been confirmed that there were zero casualties. However, there is still one person in critical condition. Dr. Otto Octavius, the man behind the explosion, is now in critical condition. He's suffered burns all over his body and suffered blunt trauma due to being sent flying after the explosion. As of now, experts are working on saving the man, but the odds of him recovering are reported to be very low.

A reporter spoke through the TV as a group of surgeons surrounded the unconscious and charred body of Dr. Octavius. He was nearly unrecognizable, his skin completely red and black due to the devastating burns.

"We're going to need to separate these tentacles from the body. Afterward, we're gonna have to disconnect the machine from his spinal cord. We won't know the extent of the damage until we get in there. Break up into four pairs, each pair will take care of each arm. Got it?" The lead surgeon instructed his crew, grabbing an electric saw and turning it on.

The rest of the group began scrambling for tools to begin working on the eight-limbed man. Slowly, the main surgeon approached one of the tentacles with his saw, making sure to carefully attempt to remove it from the doctor's skin.

Once the blade was less than an inch away, the tentacle seemingly woke up and grabbed the man by the throat, while also impaling him with a metal spike that was seen protruding from the other side of the doctor's head. The unsettling sounds of the man choking on his own blood and esophagus were heard by the rest of the surgeons as they all stepped back in fear, murmuring amongst each other.

"Oh my god!"

"Dr. James!"

"Holy shit!"

Slowly, the unconscious body of Dr. Octavius rose up with the help of his robotic arms, hitting the light above him and causing the entire operating room to go dark. Though the doctors were frozen in fear, the change in lighting jolted them all awake, pushing them all to panic and run around the room like chickens with their heads cut off.

So no one could escape, one of the tentacles knocked over a bookshelf, blocking the exit and causing the panic to become more desperate as there was nowhere left to run.

One of the arms grabbed a doctor by the skull, lifting her up in the air as she used her hands to try and break free. "AAAAAH! HELP ME!" She shouted to her coworkers in a blood-curdling scream, though no one could come to her rescue.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

The sound of the doctor's skull slamming onto the ground reverberated throughout the panicking room, followed by the sound of her face getting slammed again.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

And again.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

And again.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

Until the tentacle began to speed up, slamming her disfigured face into the ground repeatedly.

The tentacle lifted her up in the air, holding up her face that was now nothing more than broken bones and mushed flesh before tossing her out of one of the windows.

Another arm grabbed a different doctor by the head while another grabbed the same doctor by the torso. "Please! NO! NO! NO!" the man yelled for his life, praying that his words would somehow stop the slaughter, but it was to no avail. The arms began pulling the man apart, causing the sound of bone ripping through flesh to echo through the dark room as his spine was being torn out from his body. "AAAAA-" the man shouted through the unimaginable pain, only stopping once the sound of his spine being pulled out along with his head interrupted him.

This triggered one of the doctors to scream, revealing her position, as well as the position of two other doctors next to her. The other two doctors ran into the darkness while she continued to scream in the same spot, hyperventilating with her back against the wall. She couldn't move, standing frozen in fear as one of the tentacles, wielding a long automatic saw, approached her. "Oh, God! Please!" she pleaded, but not even God could help her.

The tentacle slit her throat, causing the woman to slowly bleed out to death and fall to her knees as blood spewed from the opening. Everyone could hear her choking on her own blood before the sounds inevitably ceased.

Using a fire extinguisher, one of the surgeons busted the glass window of the door open before attempting to crawl through it. His skin was being cut by glass shards, drawing blood all over his body, but he didn't care. However, the sounds of glass shattering did nothing more than reveal his position as one of the tentacles grabbed him by the back of the skull as he was halfway out of the window.

People who were outside of the room gathered around after hearing the commotion all gasped in unison as the man begged for his life. "Help me! Help me! Help me!" the man spoke sporadically, almost weeping as he could feel himself getting dragged back into the room.

No one helped him, watching as he held onto the door with both hands, continuing to beg them. "Someone! Please! Help! He-"

Hearing enough, the tentacle unleashed the sharp, metallic spike from within it, impaling the man through the mouth from behind. The man was alive for just a few short moments before the light left his eyes and his grip loosened. The tentacle then pulled him back into the pitch-black room, compelling everyone outside to scream and scramble down the halls.

Another doctor, grabbing a saw off the ground, sprinted toward Dr. Octavius like a madman, screaming like a warrior as he attempted to kill the man. However, this attempt proved to be futile, as one of the tentacles closed its three points before impaling the man through the chest.

Using what little strength he had left, the doctor continued to try and cut through the metallic limb, only to have his head struck like a bat hitting a baseball, causing his head to fly off and roll behind one of the counters and land in front of the two remaining doctors.

The ladies held onto each other tightly, covering their mouths in order to ensure that neither one of them would let even a peep leave their lips. They were able to hold their screams, though that task proved to be more difficult as the footsteps of the metallic limbs began to draw near.

The possessed doctor being carried around by his limbs could be heard getting closer with each step. The ladies both began to cry, knowing almost for certain that this is where they were going to die.

The footsteps stopped for a second.

A long second.

For just the tiniest moment, both doctors began to feel hope, only for the footsteps to pick right back up.

The footsteps began going in the opposite direction, causing both ladies to release the tension built up in their bodies and hug each other tightly. They were still afraid and tears were still streaming down their faces, but they were beginning to finally feel safe.

Crying into her partner's shoulder, one of the doctors looked up before gasping into the other's ear. Feeling her partner suddenly jolt, the other doctor looked up, only to see that her friend's face was being impaled by one of the doctor's tentacles.

The impaled woman was then lifted into the air and thrown across the room, leaving the final doctor all by herself.

The woman turned around, looking up at Dr. Otto Octavius as his unconscious body was being suspended in the air by two of his robotic tentacles. The woman was in disbelief, having believed this entire time that Dr. Otto Octavius was the one controlling the arms, however, it was the opposite.

The arms were controlling him.

"Please..." The woman begged silently, hoping that somehow, she would be spared from this massacre. However, the four robotic limbs didn't care.

One of them grabbed her by her temple, lifting her up in the air as she continued to silently beg.

"Please."

"Please."

"Please."

The tentacle began to apply pressure to her head slowly, though the woman didn't stop repeating the same word over and over again.

"Please."

"Please."

"Please."

She kept repeating it over and over again until...

The tentacle crushed her skull.

Minutes later, a group of police officers stood with their backs against a wall, peeking around a corner at a nearly pitch-black hallway, littered with broken glass and bloodied corpses. The only thing illuminating the hallway was a lone, flickering light. As the light flickered, metallic footsteps could be heard as they approached the officers. These footsteps matched the slow flickering of the light, almost as if they were synced.

Beneath the flickering light, Dr. Octavius and his still unconscious and limp body being carried by his blood-soaked tentacles emerged from the darkness. With each step, the bloody tentacles left triangular-shaped bloody footprints on the ground beneath them.

The lead officer looked back at his juniors and signaled them to move forward. In unison, all four of them turned the corner and pointed their guns down the flickering hallway.

However, as they aimed their weapons, they were greeted by an empty hallway. The mechanical doctor was gone. All that was left were a few bloody footprints being illuminated under the flickering light.

"What? He was just there!" The senior officer spoke as he began looking around swiftly down the hallway in front of him.

The lead officer walked down the flickering hallway, acting as if he didn't have any fear in the world. Reluctantly, his crew began walking carefully into the hallway behind him, guns in hand.

"Uh, sir? You sure that's a good idea?" One of his juniors asked, frozen in fear behind everyone.

The group of three ignored the cowardly officer and continued to step forward into the semi-lit hallway.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝙎𝙃!

A tentacle shot out from the inside of one of the unlit rooms, grabbing the senior officer's face and swiftly slamming him through the glass wall and out of the building. His voice could be heard screaming as the man fell, only being cut off by the sounds of his body slamming into a vehicle below.

Before the other two could react, another tentacle emerged from the darkness, grabbing one of the officers while the other revealed tentacle latched onto the other cop. Dr. Octavius's unconscious body was then dragged out of the darkness by his tentacles and the men began screaming for their lives frantically. "WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!"

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

Both men had their faces rammed into the other's reducing their heads to nothing more than shards of skull and pieces of brains.

The final officer began stupidly shooting his gun, landing a few hits on the doctor before hitting the light and causing the entire room to go dark. However, the man kept firing his gun, hearing the sounds of the tentacles blocking the bullets as they walked forward, only being illuminated by his muzzle flash.

Once he was out of ammo, the man fell to his knees and began to beg. "P-please! S-spare me!" The man begged as tears began to fall from his face and onto the white tile beneath him.

From the darkness, the metallic footsteps continued to get closer, muting the man's weeping. The footsteps ceased before the man felt the metallic claws lift him in the air. At the same time, Dr. Octavius regained consciousness.

He looked up to see his metal arms involuntarily holding a man up in front of him by all four of his human limbs. "What's going on?" Otto asked before the arms began pulling in opposite directions.

Feeling his bones and tendons being ripped apart, the man screamed in agony, continuing to beg for his life. "AAAAH! PLEASE!"

The man's limbs and body were ripped into pieces. Blood and organs began to rain down on Dr. Octavius's face, though he couldn't even process what was happening in front of him. Otto began to shake and convulse due to his shock and fear before looking up into the air and shouting. "NOOOOO!" Dr. Octavius's hollers could be heard throughout the entire hospital as he awakened to himself having become a monster.
