Chapter 101: The End

The Green Goblin laughed at the boy in front of him, sensing the rage and hatred emanating off of the boy's body like that Godspeed energy of his. Due to the symbiote's regenerative properties, Eren was able to use Godspeed once more without any sort of limitations on his body, practically allowing him to use it infinitely.

The Green Goblin had no clue when or where he was. He didn't even know how he was alive at that moment as the last thing he remembered was expelling enough energy from his body to nuke an entire city before he was standing in that very spot just a second later. Seeing Spider-Man wearing his Project V, the Goblin smirked. "Well, Parker-"

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

The Goblin tried to taunt the boy, to speak about how much he'd changed. However, Spider-Man zipped forward so fast, that it was almost as if he teleported in front of the Goblin before he delivered a mighty punch to the Goblin's face. As he attacked, Spider-Man retracted the symbiote from just his fists due to fire being the symbiote's weakness, allowing him to get through the Green Goblin's firey aura without harming it.

This strike was so powerful, that a shockwave formed around the point of impact and Spider-Man's fist, one shrouded in electricity, before the Green Goblin was sent tumbling backward down the empty street. By the time the Green Goblin was able to get back on his feet, he was hit by an uppercut from Spider-Man, sending the Goblin several feet in the air due to its tremendous power.

Spider-Man often held back against enemies, even when he said he was going all out, part of him still didn't allow himself to go past a certain threshold. However, he didn't care anymore, whether it be via his own will or the symbiote's influence, he was truly using everything he had to kill the Green Goblin.

Using Godspeed, Spider-Man pushed off the ground, leaving a blue electric trail behind him as he lept in the air to match the Green Goblin's altitude. The Green Goblin's eyes widened before Spider-Man began beating him with an onslaught of rapid punches while in the air in a bizarre, anime-like fashion.

With each punch, the Green Goblin was able to finally feel pain after having transformed into his monstrous state, something he didn't even think was possible at that point, especially in his firey form. Spider-Man reeled back his fist, moving his entire Godspeed aura to his right hand before delivering a powerful punch to the Green Goblin's chest, one so emphatic that it nearly penetrated through his body.

𝘽𝙊𝙊𝙈!

Yet another shockwave, this time even grander than the last, formed around Spider-Man's fist, sending the Green Goblin spiraling down toward the Earth like a bullet. The Green Goblin's body pulverized the pavement beneath him, creating a massive crater as he lay with his arms and legs spread.

Spider-Man landed not too far from the Green Goblin, still scowling as seen by the symbiote suit matching his expression underneath. "I've waited over a whole month for this moment. I went through relentless training just to be sure that I'd be able to beat you." Spider-Man spoke darkly as he walked forward with thunderous footsteps that would even make Zeus himself raise an eyebrow.

"You may not have realized, but I sent the two of us through time inadvertently." As Spider-Man spoke with his grim, menacing voice, the Green Goblin got back up on his feet, clearly showing signs of damage as his flaming aura began to fade.

He couldn't believe it. For the Green Goblin, he was beating the brakes off of Silk and Spider-Man just minutes prior. Now, however, that same boy was obliterating him as if he were nothing but a mere punching bag. Harry's 'cure' that he injected into him was also proving to weaken the beast, though it was overall ineffective at removing the effects of the new and improved version of Globulin Green. Each attack hurt like hell, it was as if he were being struck by a million tons of steel with each fist.

He knew that the symbiote was powerful, but he didn't know it would make Spider-Man 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 powerful. He also knew what its weakness was, it was part of why he decided on making a formula that allowed for pyromancy, just in case he needed to defend himself against his own captives using it.

However, Spider-Man wouldn't let his pyromancy get the chance even to come close to hurting the symbiote. The Green Goblin formed a fireball in his hand, throwing it forward in desperation at Spider-Man faster than any bullet known to man

Spider-Man, seeing this coming at him in slow motion, simply stepped to the side and avoided it, still continuing to walk forward with his thunderous steps. "While you went forward in time, I went backward and spoke to an alternate timeline version of myself. He gave me the memories of hundreds of Eren Parkers, all of whom died because of the very thing I am wearing on my body. All because of you!" By the time Eren was at this point of his monologue, he was about five feet from the Green Goblin.

𝙕𝙏𝙏!

In an instant, he stepped forward, once again putting himself directly in front of the Green Goblin before sending yet another punch toward the crazed scientist, aimed directly at his liver.

𝘾𝙍𝙐𝙉𝘾𝙃!

This punch ruptured multiple of the Green Goblin's ribs, creating yet another shockwave. Before the Green Goblin could be flung backward, Spider-Man flashed behind him, almost appearing as if he instantly teleported, and held the Green Goblin's back in place.

The Green Goblin's eyes widened at this display of speed before Spider-Man reeled his fist back and punched the Green Goblin in his spine, causing him to bend backward as his spine broke in half. "AAAAH- AHHH..." The Green Goblin groaned in agony. He couldn't believe it, he suddenly was unable to move anything below his waist due to the tremendous strength of the attack. "You probably lost all feeling in your legs, right? Can't have you running off on me." Spider-Man said as the Goblin slumped over onto the ground like an empty mascot suit.

Spider-Man walked around the now paralyzed Green Goblin, looking down at the filth with hateful eyes. "I've seen you kill my girlfriend and my best friend hundreds of times over..."

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

Spider-Man socked the Green Goblin in the chin, causing the monster to fall over on his side, still unable to move anything below the waist. "The 𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚 I feel when I look at your pathetic face is far beyond any type of fury I have ever felt."

The Green Goblin began forming fire around his fist to retaliate, only for Spider-Man to continue to attack.

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

Spider-Man stomped on the Green Goblin's head with such force, it would have burst like a melon if the Goblin were still human. "The 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩 I feel knowing that I've had to reduce myself to 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 is something I can't even comprehend."

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

"I've 𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙙."

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

"I've 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙙."

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

"I've 𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙!"

𝘾𝙍𝘼𝘾𝙆!

"All because you wanted to prove a point to me..." By this point, the Green Goblin's firey aura was flickering and nearly depleted. Spider-Man knelt down and grabbed the Green Goblin by one of his horns and forcing him to look up at him. "Well, I have a point that I want to prove to you. I'll show you what happens when the boy who plays the hero 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙨!"

𝙎𝙉𝘼𝙋!

Spider-Man broke the Green Goblin's horn off of his head, provoking a blood-curdling scream from the Goblin as he squirmed in despair. "You did this to me, Norman. You created this monster time and time again, I have the memories implanted into my head as if I lived through eons of torture done by your hand. Playing on a cycle..." Eren began to shed tears beneath his mask, crying through his rage as the images of Harry, Cindy, Lily, Gwen, Flash, Felicia, and anyone else he'd formed bonds within other timelines being killed either by Norman's hands or a result of the chain reaction the Green Goblin started repeated in his mind.

"And now..." Spider-Man webbed down both of the Green Goblin's hands with his special, unbreakable webbing before placing the Green Goblin's broken horn over his green mouth. "Now I can end the cycle. I don't care what it makes me. I'll do whatever it takes from here on if it means saving everyone."

𝘔𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦...

Word spread fairly quickly that Spider-Man and the Green Goblin were once again squaring off, alerting Harry and prompting him to immediately gear up as the New Goblin to back Eren up. As he soared through the city on his board to help his friend, he received a text message from Cindy Moon.

𝘾𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙮: I need your help at mine and Eren's apartment, please hurry!

As Harry read this message, he was confused. 'What? Why isn't she with Eren?" he thought to himself before redirecting his board and heading straight to his friends' apartment building. By the time he arrived, the door was already unlocked, allowing him to enter and find Cindy on the ground with her legs and hands bound by Spider-Man's unique web formula.

"Cindy, what happened?" Harry rushed over as Cindy pointed to the vial behind him on the dining table.

"Eren did this! These webs won't break without that formula on the table!"

"What?" Harry rushed over and grabbed the vial before pouring the liquid onto Cindy's hands and ankles. The webs began to slowly dissolve and Cindy continued to explain what was happening.

"He stole Project V and it's changing him! He said he was going to kill Norman, but it wasn't him who was speaking. He's being controlled! We need to stop him before he loses himself completely!" Cindy was finally able to break loose from her shackles before summoning her Spider-Matter costume that was beneath her clothes. As Silk started to leave, Harry grabbed her wrist, stopping her in her tracks.

"I know. He told me about that stuff. I didn't know it was going to happen today, but I think we should let him." Harry saying this caused Silk's eyebrows to furrow in disbelief.

"What!?" she shouted, looking at her friend as if he too were becoming a monster.

"Well... according to him, killing Norman will save the timeline, right? So why don't we just let him? He seems to have everything under control." Harry told her, truly trusting that Eren knew what he was doing, despite seeing the monster he'd become firsthand.

"I should've figured you wouldn't see the problem after seeing what you did to those Screwball followers..." Silk told him, pulling her arm away from him due to her being far stronger than him. Silk lept into the air and attached herself to the ceiling before lifting the skylight.

"I believe in reciprocated force. For every action, there is an equal reaction, or however the saying goes." Harry told her coldly. "I won't let you stop him. Norman needs to die."

"It's not about him killing Norman, it's about what Eren is becoming! That man that I just spoke to wasn't him! I don't care if Norman dies, in fact, I want him to die. I don't want Eren Parker to die in the process." She told him. "What if that 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 takes him over completely? Then what? Who's going to stop him then?"

"That won't happen. He said he'll get rid of it and I believe him. I will not let you interrupt this. You're being crazy right now, Cindy." Harry saying this baffled Cindy. From her point of view, they were the crazy ones.

"So what, are you going to fight me, Harry Osborn?" Silk asked him, looking down at him with the eyes of an enemy.

Harry reached for his utility belt, hovering his hand over his grappling hook. "I believe in reciprocated force, as I said. You tell me."

Without hesitation, Silk shot a web at Harry and fled out of the window. Harry dodged to the side, shooting his grapple hook out the opened skylight and pulling himself upward. By the time he was standing on the roof of the apartment, he could see Silk swinging away from him with haste, taking a few disappointed glances back at him.

Harry lept off the building, summoning his glider which wrapped around the building and caught him in mid-air before boosting forward toward Silk.

Silk could feel her Silk-Sense tingling, nudging her to turn around, only to see the New Goblin close enough to snatch her out of the air. "Let him finish this!" Harry shouted as Silk began to break free and throw punches at him.

As the two flew higher in the air on his glider, Harry dodged and blocked her punches until one of them hit him square in the mouth. This allowed Silk to crawl up his body and kick off his back like a launch pad before flipping forward and shooting three webs at him.

Harry shifted his board back and forth to avoid her attacks before reaching onto his utility belt and grabbing a grenade. He threw this grenade at Silk causing her to frown and grit her teeth under her mask as she fired a web at the grenade and sent it back to Harry. "Really? You're willing to hurt me over this!?" she shouted before the grenade exploded, releasing a net that ensnared Harry and knocked him off of his board.

Harry was only trying to slow her down, he wasn't going to do anything that would cause her any harm, the net being proof of that. Harry began plummeting down toward the earth, unable to remotely control his glider due to his hands being tied.

However, Silk was kind enough to shoot a web at him and attach him to a building before web-zipping in the opposite direction to find Eren. "Silk! Wait!" Harry yelled as he watched her disappear in the distance while trying to cut through his own rope, which would be a tall task considering the rope was created to withstand being sliced.

----------------------------------------

Back on the battlefield, the Green Goblin looked up at Spider-Man with wide eyes as Spider-Man's massive white eyes looked down at him with a grotesque grimace. The Green Goblin could tell that Spider-Man, or whoever it was in front of him, was prepared to finally end it all. Norman, for the first time in a long time, was able to feel fear.

"Eren! Wait!" a voice spoke, though it was not the Goblin. "Please! I'm still in here! The Goblin is making me do these things! If you kill him, you'll kill me!"

Spider-Man looked at Norman, exhaling softly as he thought about the man's words. It was true that the Goblin was just a personality inside of Norman, not the man himself. Norman was sick, he needed help more than anything. He wasn't truly a monster...

But Spider-Man didn't care.

𝙎𝙃𝙃𝙉𝙉𝙏!

Using the symbiote, Spider-Man formed a tendril around the Green Goblin's detached horn and shoved it down his throat, impaling his insides with it all while suffocating, electrocuting, and drowning him with the symbiote. The Green Goblin thrashed about in agony as he slowly died beneath the killer arachnid.

Spider-Man watched as the life left the Green Goblin's eyes, taking a deep breath before retracting the tendril and standing over the body with both fists clenched tightly.

At the same time, Silk landed behind him, triggering the man who was once seen by all as a hero to turn around and face her.

Silk's mouth didn't say a word, however, her eyes spoke a million and Eren was able to understand every last one. "I'm sorry." Spider-Man told her before zipping away in an instant leaving the corpse of the Green Goblin and Silk, who was standing teary-eyed and disturbed at the sight of what Spider-Man had left behind.
