Chapter 12 Ancient Forest and Demons

POV Rowana.

The Ancient Forest loomed before Rowana, its massive trees stretching toward the sky like ancient sentinels guarding a sacred realm. She took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet scent of moss and earth that filled the air. The forest had always held a special place in her heart, but today, her purpose was different. She was on a mission to retrieve a Mithril Weapon from the Elder Treant, the guardian of the forest.

Rowana's wings fluttered gently as she ventured deeper into the forest. Sunlight filtered through the thick canopy, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor. She marveled at the vibrant colors surrounding her – the emerald green of the leaves, the golden glow of sunlight, and the myriad of colorful flowers blooming along the path.

As she continued her journey, Rowana encountered the Treants, the living trees that inhabited the forest. Their massive trunks stood tall and proud, their branches reaching out like ancient limbs. The Treants had bodies of bark and wood, with eyes and mouths but no noses.

She encounters other fairies like herself that were living in Harmony with the Treants.

The Faelings, the youngest and most spirited among the fairies, were akin to tiny orbs of pure magic. They radiated vibrant hues, their translucent forms flickering with ever-changing colors. Faelings flitted joyfully from tree to tree, their laughter echoing through the forest like wind chimes.

As the Faelings grew, they transitioned into the stage of Child Fairies. At this stage, they took on the appearance of human children, though their luminous wings remained a testament to their ethereal nature.

Finally, the Child Fairies would transform into Mother Fairies, resembling adult women with graceful forms and radiant wings.

Fairies, regardless of their stage in life, were more than mere flesh and blood. They were conduits of living magic.

Rowana continues her journey deeper into the Ancient Forest.

She arrived at a grove, Rowana beheld the Elder Treant. It stood taller than any tree in the forest, its ancient form exuding an aura of profound wisdom and strength. The Elder's voice echoed through Rowana's mind, its words resonating with ancient power.

Rowana bowed her head. “Greetings, Elder Treant. I am Rowana, a godmother of a Hero from the Sapphire Principality. It's an honor to be in your presence.”

Elder Treant nodded, “I recalled another Hero from that region. Mitton, the hero in the Everlasting Diamond Kingdom. That is truly a shame. Mitton possessed extraordinary power and was a precious gift to this world. We shall remember him as a hero who brought hope to many.”

“Indeed, his memory lives on in the hearts of those he inspired. Now, Elder Treant, I come before you with a humble request. Would you be willing to spare a Mithril Weapon for the new hero I am mentoring?”

“A Mithril weapon, you say? That is no ordinary favor to ask, Rowana. The ancients have safeguarded such treasures for centuries. I will hand over the Mithril weapon in exchange for meeting the new hero.”

Rowana bowed her head again. “Thank you, Elder Treant. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. I assure you, the meeting will take place as promised. The new hero will be grateful for your guidance.”

“Very well, Rowana. I shall hold you to your word. May the new hero bring light to this world and honor the legacy of Mitton.”

A spectral form materialized, gradually taking the shape of a magnificent sword. The blade, crafted from the legendary metal known as Mithril, gleamed with a silver hue, reflecting the dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy above.

Rowana took the sword. She now had the weapon to free her godchild from the princess's control.

Jonas was in his quarters of the Royal Palace. Resting in his bed.

Jonas hears the knock on the door, he tenses up, wondering who could be visiting him. Before he can react, a sudden crash from a nearby window startles him. He turns his gaze toward the source of the noise and his eyes widen with disbelief as he witnesses a red starfish creature landing on the floor.

Jonas observes the creature more closely, he realizes that its body does indeed resemble that of a starfish, albeit with some unnerving features. The back was covered in sharp needles. As the creature lifts its body slightly, he notices that its mouth reveals rows of sharp, pointed teeth that resemble those of a vampire.

A man enters the room, and Jonas recognizes him as Benjamin, a Congressman he has encountered before in the palace.

Jonas pulls out his sword toward the creature. “Help me kill this thing!”

Benjamin closed the door behind him. “Let our collective spirit ignite like a wildfire of change,” Benjamin said like a solemn prayer.

“You bastard!” Jonas screamed.

As the tension reaches its peak, the red starfish abruptly launches an attack on Jonas, catching him off guard. Reacting swiftly, Jonas manages to cleave the starfish in half, hoping to vanquish the creature.

However, to his astonishment, the severed halves of the starfish exhibit an incredible ability to regenerate. In a mesmerizing display of resilience, each half begins to regenerate and reassemble, forming two separate and fully functional starfish entities. The room is now occupied by not one, but two menacing starfish creatures.

“I will exterminate the corruption,” Benjamin says before attacking.

Jonas was later found dead in his room.
