Giant Plesiosaurus (Prepub)
Monster Level - IV
Soul Type - Composite
Intelligence - Low
Strength - Incredible
Magic - Moderate
Rarity - Very Rare
Rare creatures occasionally seen in myths and legends, these aquatic monsters resemble long dead creatures from the past. Except much much larger. The fossilized bones we have of the animal are large enough to kill a human. These creatures can easily consume one without much effort. They seem to form in lakes instead of ocean like climates, though it's possible those in the ocean just haven't been seen by travelers.
These massive monsters have a large body with flippers, with a comparably smaller head on a very long neck. That massive serpentine neck gives them incredible speed and flexibility, able to fight multiple delvers all at the same time. Meanwhile their main body's tough scales and skin are resistant to both blows and magical attacks.
They have shown no real tactical ability or magical skill however, and their speed drastically falls on land. If you feel you are unprepared for this battle, retreat would be a good option.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
The head is a weak point, but these massive creatures can dodge arrows and spells easily! Don't assume you can handle this with just a single arrow to the eye.
Merge
Unknown
Any merge abilities would be purely a guess. It is unlikely to offer water breathing, as it looks like this is an aquatic reptile. Increased speed or resistant skin might be possible, but finding this creature will be a considerable task.

Combat tactics - Basic
As with all Level IV monsters, heavy hitting weapons are a requirement. Poorly equipped teams will need to attack the head, hoping to get a lucky shot, or to predict its quick reflexes and movements. Teams with stronger piercing attacks should be able to instead focus at the base of the neck, or even the body. The internal organs of the creature are similar to most, so striking a weak point will bring the monster down. The arteries of the neck and the spine are an obvious point to focus.
Given a monster's need to attack humans, luring it out of the water should be considered step one. Allowing it the superior mobility and speed its body allows in water, even shallows, is pure foolishness.
The optimal hunting party probably includes earth and ice mages, along with several spear wielding warriors. Though finding the creature will be harder than fighting it. And not because the battle is easy.

This information is based of a single combat encounter. We strongly suggest you don't take any of it as gospel. We know some of its resistances are supernatural. Its skin and scales should not have been able to resist lightning, but our researcher confirmed it does. It may have other supernatural defenses as well. The only thing we know for sure is stabbing it in the spine is lethal.
