Chapter 6: Kindness...

9 months after world generation

--

(6th character introduced) Neia, female, amber green eyes, moderately long brown hair, gentle face, summarized body type: Petite and soft.

It has been four months since I came to this forest, I never could have imagined that this world would have such kind and sweet people in it. The help from the others is something I don't think I can ever repay, they've done so much for me when they didn't need to, it's truly astonishing.

I spend my days at the central village, where the flowers bloom the brightest and the sun shines the brightest, it really is a wonderful place... Today is an especially beautiful day, everything seems just right in every way. Which is the quickest way for the people in this village to be happy. Something I have learned over my time in this village is that people, especially me, have their mood affected by the weather, some people have their own preferences but it is generally all the same. Sunny days bring joy and warmth to the people and the forest.

Since today is such a perfect day it would be unfortunate if I didn't take this opportunity to visit the people outside the main village, it has been a while since I last saw them so it would be great to finally go do that again.

I left the main village with a smile on my face and a rhythm to my step, I felt unstoppable today, if anything bad were to happen, I would want it to happen today, not because I really wanted bad things to happen but because I felt like those bad things wouldn't affect me today, it was just far to great of a day for me to be sad.

After a little while of meandering through the vibrant expanse of the forest I finally found myself at the north village, the biggest other village besides the main one. As I arrived I immediately noticed that the mood in the village was the complete opposite of what I expected, the people walked around and talked to each other as if they were afraid something would come and get them at any moment, this made me concerned but it also looked a little funny.

"Hey! I'm visiting from the main village, why do you guys look so scared? It's such a beautiful day today you shouldn't be." I smiled at them, trying to brighten their mood with a simple gesture.

One of the people standing and talking nervously looked up at me with a worried face, "Have you not heard?-" He hesitated, looking back at the others but then continued in a hushed tone,

"Two people have gone missing. We think they were killed..." His voice trailed off and he started looking very, very sad. This made me feel sad as well.

I felt a little bad for not realizing but I decided to try and lighten the mood if they were feeling like this, "It will be alright, there will always be kind people around to help when things get hard, I know that for a fact." The man looked a little confused at what I said but then turned around and walked away with the others.

It seems like I won't be getting to talk any more with the kind people here, I really do wonder though, what happened to those people?-

Suddenly, as I was thinking to myself, I heard a woman's voice scream through the forest, turning my head to see what it was I saw a woman bleeding out and running towards the entrance of the north village with a desperate look on her face,

"Help me!!! He's coming, I can't sto-" She collapsed to the floor, going unconscious just a few steps from the entrance. My eyes widened, I had no idea what to do in this circumstance, I had never encountered it before. I felt a strange new feeling rush through my body in an instant and started to feel like the world wasn't as beautiful as it was mere moments ago. This was not a very nice feeling.

I looked around to see if there was anyone who would know what to do in this moment but I couldn't see anyone, except the girl on the floor, the floor, the blood stained floor...

A sharp ringing began echoing through my ears, I fell to my knees, yelling in pain. Everything became so unknown so fast, my ears were ringing loud and my mental perception of the world began falling apart. This was not a very nice feeling at all. I wanted it to stop, I wanted things to feel safe again, to feel wonderful again, and this was most certainly not those things.

My vision was shaky, my ears wouldn't stop ringing, and I- I was frozen in place, watching as the woman lay on the floor with an arm stretched out in my direction, she looked at me with pain and despair only in her eyes, blood seeped into the grass and flowers around her, forcing the vibrancy into something twisted and evil.

"Stop dying! Stop looking at me like that! Just.... STOP!" I couldn't hear my own words, my ears were ringing too loud. The woman said something that looked like "help," but at this point I couldn't tell up from down...

My body felt very hot, I was shaking intensely, and the last thing I saw before passing out was a man slowly walking towards me, covered in blood and scars.
