Chapter 4: Combat.

--

Back to Veris

(4th character introduced) Veris, male, long black hair held up by a ponytail, wearing traditional monk garb, summarized body type: compact and sturdy.

"G-g-g-g-g-get away from me!" I stumbled backwards, shaking intensely.

The mutation of a man gazed down of me with murderous intent, "You're all the same, even the way you beg for your life is exactly the same."

He placed a hand on my shoulder, squeezing hard, "One of these days you guys will be different, but for now, I can just have fun." My heart sank, I couldn't move, or rather, I feared that if I moved I would die. At this point I was as good as dead, so. I gave up and surrendered to my fate. I let my shoulders relax, I let my breathing slow, and I understood that this was just how the way of the world.

Suddenly... the pressure on my shoulder loosened, the man who I thought would kill me stood up and stared at me with a confused face, "Why aren't you afraid of dying anymore?..."

I looked up at him, understanding that there was nothing I could do but hopefully ride this wave out, "I thought that if you were going to kill me anyways should at least make my death a little comfortable, that's all." I spoke with no intonation of fear, simply acceptance.

He looked at me with concern, and then chuckled, "I guess you guys aren't all the same... huh..." He turned around, the wind creating an otherworldly image of the man in front of me. I sat mesmerized and speechless, my life had just been spared....

All this time I had a torn image of this man in my head, not know that he had the ability to change himself to be better right in front of me. I would never cement my beliefs again, it would only lead me to false thinking.

(Again, still Veris)

It has been two months since my encounter with the man who opened my eyes to see for the first time, I have began the process of developing my mind and body for preparation of the new world I wish to set in motion. The other conscious creatures have continued hating and hunting Chandler, and he has continued hating and hunting them. It seems it will be a never-ending back and forth if something does not change.

Kaede once said: "The definition of insanity is to repeat the same thing over and over again expecting a different result, I would like this world to be the complete and utter opposite of that, new things are far more entertaining..." It took me over eight months to grasp what she truly said, and I finally understand what she meant, we're all insane in some shape or form, and the only way to break out of it and have a truly fulfilling existence... Is to be mutations of behavior, to change our actions from the normal, to be free!!

That is my truth... no one else needs to believe for me to accept it, it is my true purpose.

In five nights I will be the spark to ignite this world into its most beautiful truth, mutation! Variety!!

(The 2nd and the all-seeing) Osian. Male, short, curly, brown hair, eyes have a constant repeating pattern to them, summarized body type: Slim and fit.

The sun shone wonderfully through the thick foliage, the warm breeze carrying a comfortable feeling that spread through the body with every breath. I walked calmly along the small dirt path to the central village, today was the day I would finally finish my technique, the last stepping stone to creating a safe world devoid of mutation or mistakes.

I hummed, quietly taking in my surroundings, every aspect was just as beautiful as the last, the Fey, the grass, the flowers, it was all so vibrant and perfect.

The sound of footsteps from behind disturbed my peace, I turned my head to see a man I knew very well, Veris.

"What is it? I haven't seen you around the village the past couple months, is everything okay?" It really had been quite a while since I last saw him, he had been around practically as long as I had, so we became acquainted as conscious creatures very quickly.

"I can't let you finish your technique, if you do it will produce an age of mundanity, and I just can't let that happen. So I beg of you, my fellow conscious creature, don't go through with this."

His words were confusing, it didn't make any sense why anyone would want mistakes in the world. I gave him a concerned look, "Are you alright? Have you hurt your head?" As I spoke he seemed to get offended.

"I assure you I am in the utmost state of well being, but you, I guarantee, are not. Now please, stop what your doing this instant and turn back." He stood in my way defiantly, his arms out in front of him.

I stared at him, disappointment obvious on my face, "Do you not care about the lives that are being ended by his hands?-" He abruptly cut me off,

"-I do care about those lives, the problem you see is not the truth however, because, much like what I'm doing here, it strays from a set path, it is better this way." He smiled at me, as if to help convince me that he somehow knew better.

I slowly moved my arm up, facing my fist towards him, and then... I spoke aloud, for all Fey willing to shape the world with my instructions to hear,

"Carvel mfi!"

His face immediately turned to shock, "Impossible! You found out how to use an incomplete version!?"

I smiled at him, watching the Fey engulf his entire body, "Goodnight, I hope you'll change your mind when you wake up..." He frowned, the Fey swarming him making it hard to see.

"Just you wait..." The last words he spoke were a warning that I didn't want to understand, because simply put, his body was gone and so was he, so I didn't need to worry about it, for now.
