There were two days left until they had to go on their next mission. Leo used that time to increase his strength. By the end of the second day, he was 45% of the way to Normal Rank Level 2.
Leo sat alone in the bed. He looked at his hand where the dragon tattoo which represented The Tenebris Sword used to be. Now his hand was devoid of that tattoo. It was like that tattoo never existed.
Leo knew he had to activate this sword as fast as he could. He needed to find out more about this world and how he got here. Cao was also a major problem he had to face. Knowing Cao he was sure Cao was searching for him.
Leo began by closing his eyes. From the old world, he knew how to activate the sword, but he was not sure if that would work in this world. As the way magic operated in both worlds were different. Still, he had to try it.
Leo focused on the part where the tattoo was. He forgot everything else. He needed to activate it. Right now.
Pain like needles stabbing rose from his hands. It increased as time went by. It showed no signs of stopping, but neither did Leo. This pain is nothing compared to what he went through in the old world. So it was easy for Leo to keep his concentration.
This process was much easier than with the Crystal. Leo knew a lot about this sword from his old world and so the process had turned from complicated to simple.
After five minutes of enduring the needle stabbing sensation. The skin around his wrist burned. The tattoo of a black dragon emerged.
The burning sensation ended as soon as the tattoo appeared. The dragon looked like it was staring at him.
Next, it was time for him to activate it. The tattoo got summoned, but this is the part he keeps failing. The last time when he tried this is where he failed so he had to be careful this time.
A thought came to his mind. What if I use the Crystal? It made sense. If the sword got into this world, it meant that the sword should have properties of the Magic in this world. But what if that is not the case?
Leo moved his hand towards where the Crystal rested 'I should at least try.'

The water within the Crystal shook as Leo summoned it. The water moved from within his skin and made its way towards the dragon tattoo. The water stopped underneath the tattoo.
Now what?
Only one thing came to his mind. To combine both the water and the dragon tattoo. This was the best and only option for him.
And so that is what he did. The water beneath the tattoo moved towards it. When both made contact the dragon tattoo moved. It absorbed all the water Leo brought to it.
This surprised Leo as he did not expect such a reaction, but he did not stop. He still had a lot of water left in his Crystal. He had filled it when he returned from the river and have yet to use it until now. So he had a lot of water.
This process continued for five minutes. The tattoo showed no signs of stopping. The only thing that changed was the rate at which it absorbed the water. Leo could not control the water any longer as the tattoo absorbed the water without his help.
There was only 40% left in his Crystal. Leo had to do something soon. He needed the sword to activate.
The river was too far away. By the time he reaches there he will run out of water and if the tattoo were to stop and go away that would be a problem.
So, the only option for him was to use the water from the bathroom. Leo opened the door to it and turned on the tap.
Water like the sun rushed out from the tap and Leo absorbed it. The Crystal filled up, but soon Leo realized a problem. The tattoo’s rate of absorption was greater than his. If this keeps up, and the tattoo has no other source of water, it will go into slumber once again. If that happens, it will be bad.
As Leo thought this something happened. The tattoo stopped absorbing any water. It faded away. Leo tried to stop it by increasing the rate of water to it, but it did not respond. And so the tattoo faded away.
There was nothing left except the disappointment that lingered in Leo’s mind. He failed once again. In the old world, he could summon the sword, but in this world that is not the case.
Is it because my power is too low? In the old world when he gained the sword, his power was by no means at the peak. He was still strong when compared to others of that world.
Leo signed as he fell onto the floor. ‘My power is still lacking.’
This meant that he needed to get his hands on a new spell. But that was easier said than done. He did not understand know much they would cost or if he could even buy it. That remained the main problem. Money.
He needed it, but there was no way to get it. He could ask for a new spell from Gerard but Leo was not sure if he would get it for free like last time.
He would need to finish this new mission as fast as he could, but it was not in his hands. From what he heard about the incident, it will be a long mission. He had no choice but to accept it.
He could ask for another mission, but from what Mia told her father is sending all the teenagers to gain experience.
Leo’s eyes became locked with the ceiling. ‘What is there for me to experience?’
