I was a young boy when the first aliens, the Talos, invaded.
Their sleek metal ships descended from the skies like angels. They had landed in Asia, and there was no resistance since they ignored everything. They hovered in the air for weeks before deploying their robotic forms and proceeded to conquer.
Asia was doomed.
Then the Hidori came. Their bioships drifted onto the earth, unleashing beasts onto the land. Big or small, their forms were wild and each had fantastic abilities. Then they conquered and Australia fell.
There were communications between the two, and a war began. The coastal regions of both continents were quickly decimated as their clashes easily tore apart everything humanity had built.
The following season, the Skata-Fe-Orla-Ku-Shanon descended onto the southern Americas. Their ethereal ships glided onto the earth to reveal nigh-translucent beings. They conquered the land and proceeded to fortify their new land.
The other two talked. Then went to war.
By winter of that year, another six races had come to earth.
We all thought humanity was doomed. For how could we resist such great power that eclipsed everything that we could even imagine?
Yet, truth is always stranger than fiction.
“Hey dad, I hear that The Allies of Mecha are gathering up to punch into Australia again. The Union of Bio is totally screwed!” an enthusiastic ten-year-old screamed as his Talos Phone projected the gleaming hundred race alliance against the eighty-three unionized horrors.

“Tsk, tsk tsk. Johnny, you have soo much to learn. There is a reason that even today, 30 years after the first contact, Australia has yet to fall,” I chided my oldest as we made our way to the tv.
“We will see whose right old man! The invasion begins in two hours!” Johnny proclaimed as he switched the channel to Alien TV, the most up to date news on the various movements of the 1000+ invaders of Earth.
“The Allies of Mecha are strong!” Jacktron proclaimed before the camera before it panned out to the sea of various robotic war machines. “We have gained allies and improved our weapons. We cannot lose and we will make landfall!”
The camera zoomed out as the assembled Allies roared in return. The image then shifted to a giant eyeball.
“Gezzerk hears. Gezzerk laughs. Hah hah hah… Twenty invasions. We no lose. Your brittle frames shine, yes, but organics also tough. No yield. Come, we crush again!” Gezzerk of Hidora preened as its eye glowed with each word.
“There you have it, both sides are ready for the scheduled war. As you know, the Allies of Mecha submitted the proper paperwork nearly 6 months ago, meaning they are ready and the Union of Bio immediately accepted. Next up is our panel of experts to break down the two faction’s history and the predicted outcomes. This is April O’Neil, here for any and all invader news,” the pretty brunette in yellow said with a smile. The camera zoomed in on her face before it switched to the panelists.
“Soo, who do you think is going to win dad?” Johnny asked as I settled down and passed him a bottle of bio-cola. Freshest sugar water to pass through the gullet of an Amphora.
I took a chug and sighed as the sweet, sweet distilled sugar made me shiver. Johnny happily drank his own.
“You are an idiot,” I sighed as I gestured down to the giant eyeball on my shirt. Sure the Union of Bio wasn’t as shiny or had that TV series. What the Union did have was a Godzilla, and I knew that you don’t mess with the king of monsters.
I slung my free arm around my child and we both were joined by my daughter holding the flag of the Matriarchs and my wife wearing the same sigil on her sweater. They were hoping for a surprise attack.
I slung my other arm around my princess, but a dark thought hit me.
Sure, I loved my family. I would die for them. But that fact didn’t change the truth.
I was surrounded by heathens.
