'Yeah, Officer Ray's ability is the most unique and helpful. I mean, being able to hide oneself from many people was a great ability. But I don't think he was the brightest when I met him.'
The puny human thought as he looked toward General Kent, who was talking compliments about Officer Ray.
'...I have thought about it a lot. I'm not a friend of justice. I just go along with what works for me.'
He thought, as he was already aware of what General Kent was about to ask.
"You are aware that this is your last test before officially debuting as a real officer, right?"
"...yes sir."
'That was news.' He thought as he found out that just now.
"So, do you have any information or views regarding this mission that you want to share? I am asking this because, out of the three of you, you are the most experienced with these kinds of things."
'I have made my decision.'
"I do have some information." He said this as he looked towards General Kent, who was smiling.
"Can you share?" he said.
The puny human took some breath as he opened his mouth.
"In this highly confined space, there's no way those criminals would have come together, like they have now added the fact that they can't use mana or abilities like that of Beth, which allows them to communicate with each other." He said this as General Kent seemed to be listening carefully.
"What I mean to say is that there is an"
"Insider," General Kent said as he frowned.
"That shouldn't be possible. All the officers here are loyal and trusted." He said.
"..." The puny human didn't reply to that, as he just looked at General Kent.
His job was just to share his information, and that's what he did.
General Kent, seeing that the officer before him wasn't replying, smiled as he opened some documents.
"Ok, then, I will go through every officer in this prison. Thank you for your cooperation." He said.
The puny human felt that he was free to walk away, but before doing so, he had one more piece of information.
"Please start with the officer that was here during the meeting where you introduced us; he is most likely one of the insiders." He said this as General Kent looked at him for a second and nodded his head.
"Then please excuse me." The puny human said this as he left the room.
Clack
"So, what did you two talk about?"
As soon as he walked out, he was met with Brent's question as he looked at him.
"It's just about this mission being my last mission or test before officially debuting as a real officer." He said this as Brent tilted his head.
"What are you talking about? This is indeed our last test; you didn't know?" He said this as the puny human waved his hand.
"Yes, I knew. He was just reminding me. Anyway, what are we going to do now?" He said this as he tried to change the topic.
"...for now, we are going to investigate some more groups." Brent said as he started walking.
Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings.
"Follow me." He said this as the puny human followed.
--
"Hmm, these two are really suspicious."
Following the two criminals, Beth hid herself whenever the two checked if someone was following them. The two criminals were none other than the two bodyguards that were guarding the bald man.
'They called themselves his bodyguard and also gave the background of owning their lives to him, but when I was interrogating the bald man, they didn't even bother to move.'
She thought, as she had a feeling that following them would be beneficial.
"Huh?"
Contrary to her expectations, the two criminals didn't meet with anyone, nor did they go anywhere suspicious.
"Was I mistaken?" She thought as the two criminals entered the tent.
It was the tent where the officers checked if the mana blockers for the criminals were working.
"..."
"Stop. What are you doing? The tent for women is there."
Beth tried to enter the tent, but the officer guarding it stopped her.
The officer didn't know that she was a spy, nor did every other officer here. This information was only known to General Kent.
"Oh, ok," Beth replied as she turned around and walked away.
'I will wait until they exit.' She thought.
She was hoping to catch the two criminals talking or meeting with someone so she could catch them and get information.

'I want to see stars.'
Looking upwards, the puny human thought as he looked upwards.
Currently, all he could see was a vast and round ceiling.
"Why do you keep staring upwards?"
Brent, who had seen the puny human looking upwards many times, asked as he also looked upwards.
"You keep looking upward with the eyes that seem to be longing for something. What is it?" He said this as he looked back at the puny human.
"...nothing; I was just missing being outside." The puny human replied.
"Missing? It's only been a day since we arrived here." Brent said as he looked at him weirdly.
'So its just been a day?' He thought as he nodded his head.
"Even then, I miss it." The puny human said this as Brent stared at him for a moment, turned around, and started walking.
'Even then, longing? How did it come to be?' He thought as he followed Brent.
'Was I always this affective about stars and the sky?'
Brrr
Suddenly, he felt the ground shaking as his vision blurred, and he felt nauseous.
'W-what the heck?'
He thought as he found himself unable to walk properly and stumbled forward.
"What the-"
Feeling a body on his back, Brent turned around.
As he did, he saw that the puny human wasn't feeling well. He was panting heavily, and his whole body was shaking.
"Hey. What's happening?"
He asked as he quickly placed the puny human on the ground and started rubbing his back to help him breathe.
"Shit." Brent cursed, as their current location wasn't the ideal place.
There were several criminals walking around.
The puny human falling like this was only attracting unwanted attention.
"W-wait stop; I'm fine."
As he was rubbing his back, he heard him talking as he saw that the puny human was no longer shaking and looked fine.
"What happened to you?" Brent asked as he frowned.
'A trauma? Wound from past missions?' He tried to guess, but he couldn't point it out.
"Uhh... I also don't know." The puny human said as he rubbed his head.
He really had no idea what had happened to him.
"Hah? What does that mean?" Brent said this as he started feeling annoyed.
"I'm very sorry for this, but I really don't know. Also, you don't have to worry; I feel as fine as before." The puny human said this as he stood up and stretched his body.
"You have to-" 'Brent'
Brent was about to say something, but he stopped as he heard Beth through her telepathy.
"Yes Beth. What is it? Did you find something?" He asked.
'Yeah. This is an important opportunity. Come as fast as you can. I'm around the tent.' Beth replied.
Brent could feel the hurry in her voice as he looked towards the puny human.
"For now, just follow me. We can talk later." He said this as the puny human nodded his head.
'He looks... pissed?' The puny human thought as he didn't say anything and just followed him.
'Anyway, what was that?' Looking at his hand, he felt something strange.
Before, he felt normal, but now he could tell that there was something different with him.
And he didn't know what it was yet.
'I hope it's not something bad.' He thought as he continued following Brent.
--
"So, what were you talking about?"
Not long after they walked, it didn't take long to reach Beth, as she was close.
"Those guys." Beth pointed at the two bodyguards with her eyes as Brent and the puny human looked at them.
"Those are the two bodyguard criminals, aren't they?" The puny human said this as Beth nodded her head.
"Yeah. I knew something was wrong with them, so I followed them. I didn't think I would discover something like this." Beth said as she looked toward them.
The two bodyguard criminals were sitting on a bench with one another criminal with them.
The reason Beth was hurried wasn't because of the identity of another criminal but because of the content of the discussion they were having.
"So, what have you gathered about them?" Brent asked as he made sure to remember the faces of those three criminals.
"They are sitting far away, so I couldn't listen properly, but I remember them talking about poison."
'Poison.' The puny human raised his head as he started feeling worried.
'If the poison is gas and similar to what General Ameri made, then I can easily survive. But, many lives are going to be lost.'
