Chapter 16: Loose the Tempest

The storm grew in intensity, and the winds whistling around them began to pick up dramatically, whipping debris through the air and forcing Mira and her crew to shield their eyes. "We need to find cover!" Lila shouted, her words almost indecipherable over the howl of wind.

She pulled them through the trees until they reached a cave she knew was nearby. "In here!" she yelled, ducking inside just as another bolt struck close by.

Dark and dank, the cave provided a much-needed shelter from the storm. Once inside, they huddled together, trying to catch their breath. "That was too close," Mira muttered, wiping the rain from her face.

"We cannot stay here long," Victor said, looking back at Kintz, who was still bound. "We have to decide our next move."

Kintz tittered darkly. "You think you can stop this storm? It's but a taste of what's to come. The Collective has unleashed forces beyond your comprehension."

"They're picking up pace, and if we don't act quick, there may be chances that whole cities can be in jeopardy."

"What do you need from me?" Sophia asked, ready to lend a helping hand.

"If we can infiltrate into their facility, we might find a reverse effect," Lila said with fire in her eyes.

Sophia nodded. "I have a contact who can help us get inside without being detected. But we must hurry, as the storm will get worse and the approaches may become impassable."

A wave of urgency crashed over Mira. "We don't have that much time. We really need to find that place and stop their operations before it's too late."

Kintz was sneering, eyes flashing with malice. "You are going to regret this. One cannot go against nature.

Just then, a low rumble echoed through the cave, and Mira felt the ground shudder beneath them. "What now?" she whispered, fear seeping in. Suddenly, a torrent of water came surging into the cave, flooding their only way out. "We're trapped!"
