Chapter 4
Realm of Sey Eneerg
-Main POV: Misha-
Misha awoke from the weirdest dream she'd ever had. She shook her head and laughed to herself as she remembered climbing out of a talking dumpster.
She reaches over and grabs her dream journal and a pen from the drawer on her nightstand. She flips it open and begins to write:
Today I awoke from the strangest dream. I couldn't control it no matter how I tried. It has been so long since I was unable to control my dream, I felt a bit trapped. I'm certain that I could have woken myself up but you know how it is when you're in a dream. I just had to know what would happen next in the story. It was almost like I was walking around in another person's head but that's not possible. And even if that was possible, a talking dumpster isn't real. Unless Evee has made one but I'm sure I would have heard that story by now. Nope, not possible. I walked through the same club that me and my sister witches got kicked out of, listening in on people's conversations. The security guard that released me from the handcuffs in real life had been on the phone, reporting our real life fight to someone. I quickly made my exit as I talked on the phone to my wife or girlfriend, not sure which. If that's not strange enough, I then paid a homeless man to walk away from the talking dumpster I had climbed out of. Then I got in the dumpster and had a conversation with the dumpster to fly away in order to avoid ANAL, whatever that is. I then called my commander and he ordered me to find ANAL's location. That's when I woke up. I know it's just a dream but it was so strange that I couldn't control it. I will look into it. Perhaps it is a premonition or some other type of power emerging. Now it's time to get my revenge on my sister witches for their nasty birthday prank.
Misha smiled as she put her dream journal and pen back in the drawer and stood up. She showered and dressed and walked downstairs to the kitchen. All four of her sister witches were sitting at the table eating their favorite pizza. As Misha walked up Evee waved her hand at the table and made a four tear cake appear. "I'm sorry for last night. It was just supposed to be a lap dance and things went bad," Evee said.
Misha gladly accepted the food, but not the apology with it. She smiled mischievously at Evee and her other sister witches, plotting her revenge. As Misha slid the cake closer to herself she took a casual step in Evee's direction. "Wow, Evee! It's so pretty!" It was, the pristinely white frosting made it look delicate and innocent. Things Evee was not, and did not create. Misha continued, "but is that dirt on it?" She said as she pointed at a perfectly sculpted red frosting rose on top, her other hand remaining on the side of the platter it sat on.
Evee leaned over the cake to examine it with a confused expression. "I don't see any-" Misha's hand that had been pointing a finger grasped the other side of the platter as she brought the cake up to smash in Evee's face. As she pulled it back down Evee gasped and grinned, frosting so thickly coating her face that she looked like a yeti.
"I'm glad you got even! Now we can move past it," Evee said. She licked some of the frosting that had a bit of the cake and made a soured face. She continued, "You're favorite cake is nasty. I mean, the vanilla and chocolate are great. But kale and beets? Gross, Misha, seriously. Anyway, I'm thinking we party ourselves right into next week! In fact, if you can't out drink me for your twenty first birthday, I'm never going to let you live it down! The entire coven, no NATION, of witches will know you're a lightweight! What do you say? Think you're up for the challenge?" Evee asked as she flicked her fingers and made the entire cake mess disappear.
"First of all, it's delicious. In fact I'm a bit upset with myself for wasting it on your face. Secondly, we're nowhere near even. Your prank wasn't just getting me a lap dance. Y'all knocked me out, handcuffed me, and made me invisible. That's just fucked up," Misha stated.
Evee rolled her eyes, "I'm not pointing any fingers but all I did was handcuff you and tell Peter to dance," She said as she glanced over at Kat, Trinity, and Phoenix who had been watching, amused, as they ate pizza.
Misha turned towards them. "All of you? You were ALL in on it?" She asked, hurt.
"Well I didn't do anything," Phoenix stated with a shrug. Misha felt Phoenix's words ring true deep inside herself. That was weird, Misha thought. That didn't mean that Phoenix was in the clear though. She may not have lifted a finger against Misha, but she hadn't lifted a finger to help her either.
"Listen honey, we were honestly just trying to give you an awesome birthday present that you didn't know you wanted. What's a birthday without an ass shaking for you?" Trinity said, glancing over at Phoenix with lust in her eyes. Phoenix winked at her.
Misha glared at them. "I've heard that the road to hell is paved in good intentions. Now I see that is true, because y'alls good intentions put me through hell!"
"You're making such a big deal over something so small. It's not like anyone got hurt. You'll see when you're older how small this is. It was fun, not vindictive. It went bad but not as bad as it could have. Get revenge or don't, but can we verbally move past it? You're giving me a headache," Kat said as she pinched the bridge of her nose. Kat sighs and continues, "it's too early for this shit,"
Misha glanced at the clock. "It's three p.m. Kat."
"Exactly," Kat says as she throws her hands up, exasperated. She nods her head at Evee and Evee flicks her fingers to make a cup of coffee appear on the counter beside Kat. Kat smiles appreciatively and sips it.
Misha shrugs and walks over to the fridge. Not willing to trust anything Evee makes, she makes herself a steak. They all stare longingly at her juicy, bloody steak as Misha returns to the table and cuts into it. Misha smiles at them as she takes a bite.
Evee cautiously walks over to Misha. "Hey Mish-"
"No," Misha replies, cutting another bite and shoving it into her mouth. She savors the envious look on Evee's face.
Evee glares at her. "Fine, be like that," She conjures her own but stares at Misha's the whole time she eats hers.
Kat, Phoenix, and Trinity cautiously approach the eating Evee. "Hey, Evee, you so pretty," They say in unison. Evee rolls her eyes and conjures a plate with a steak in front of each of them. They all sit and dig in.
"We need to go check on the hatchlings," Kat says to Evee as they finish their steaks.
"I'm coming with," Phoenix states.
Evee and Kat exchange a look then together look at Phoenix. "Why?" Evee asks, suspicious.
"Because I said so," Phoenix replies in her end of conversation tone.
Kat and Evee shrug in unison. All three leave the room, dumping their dirty dishes in the sink on the way out. Leaving Misha alone with Trinity.
"Don't expect an apology from me," Trinity says as soon as they're alone.
"An apology for what?" Misha fishes, trying to figure out exactly what Trinity's part in it was.
"Exactly. I did nothing wrong. I am proud of how far your fighting skills have come along though," Trinity states. Misha nods her head slowly as it clicks. The Vin Diesel look alike had been Trinity.
"Yeah, there's totally nothing wrong with jumping your friend, on her birthday of all days," Misha said as she rolled her eyes.
"Well it wouldn't have been that bad if you hadn't knocked the night night powder out of my hands. At any rate though, we're even," Trinity replies.
"Oh? Are we now? I don't recall reciprocating," Misha says, raising her eyebrows.
"You kneed my nads. Women never understand," Trinity huffs. She continues, "you hurt me, I hurt you. We're even,"
"Whatever you say, sister," Misha says as she zones into observing Trinity's heart aura. She mentally reaches out and grabs hold of a sliver of love for spiders, knowing that Phoenix has a phobia of spiders. Perfect. Misha channels her love power until the sliver has grown to the size of an obsession, rivaling Trinity's love for Phoenix. Misha let's go and smiles at a job well done. Phoenix hadn't directly done anything to her and now Misha could feel balanced that she was not doing anything directly to Phoenix, yet still getting her revenge against both Trinity and Phoenix.
"Why are you smiling?" Trinity asks, narrowing her eyes in suspicion.
"It's just been so long since I've had any time alone with you. When Phoenix is around, you're always right beside her," Misha says, purposely making the last two words run together, making them sound like spider.
"Yeah, it was nice but, um, I've got to go do, um, something," Trinity says anxiously as she gets up and hurries out of the room.
Misha laughs to herself. The day was proving to be an interesting one. She picks up her dishes as well as Trinity's and dumps them in the sink.
Misha walks back up to her room and throws herself on her bed. She lays there as she basks in the exhilaration of using her powers. It felt so good.
Misha sits up abruptly as a thought hits her. Her smile spreads into a Cheshire grin. She races to gather materials for a security spell. She was going to magically record the whole house. Her revenge would forever be able to be rubbed in their faces, with no way for them to delete it!
As Kat, Evee and Phoenix head to the dragons, Kat mentally calls to Evee.
-Hey, how odd is it that Phoenix came with us?-
Evee barely shrugs her shoulders, never stopping the flow of idle conversation with Phoenix.
-Who knows with Phoenix, she does what she wants.- Evee replies.
-And Misha was feeling oddly excited for being mad at us...- Kat continues.
-Misha just smashed a cake in my face, she got her revenge. Of course she was excited.- Evee answers her silently.
-I'm not sure that was her revenge.- Kat responds, remembering how Misha's excitement spiked as they left. Kat looks behind them, back towards the kitchen, for a moment and shrugs. They reach Kat's bedroom and enter.
Kat's bedroom is a semi-organized mess. A double king sized bed took up only a small chunk of her large room. The bed was covered in so many soft pillows that you could barely see the sheets that glowed blood red under the black lights that lit the room. Where the sheets spilled off the bed it looked like actual blood was flowing halfway down to the floor. In the corners of the room lay random piles of clothes. There was a door off to the right that lead to her large bathroom, and a door off to the left that lead to her oversized walk-in closet. Suffice to say, the witches had a way to make rooms as big as they liked. On the far wall was a shimmering portal that took them straight to Kat's dragon mountain, The Rainier Mountain on Earth.
The witches walk straight to the portal, stopping in front of it to wait for Kat's familiar, a fire dragon named Kyrie. The closet door grew and opened automatically as the teal colored dragon flew out. She was about the size of a Clydesdale horse. Kat smiled broadly at her and patted her on her shoulder.

They all step through the portal to The Rainier Mountain.
The large mountains were always covered in snow, the stark white a massive contrast to the dark earth that concealed the entrance to their cave. They walked into the cave where Dhyfloss, Kat's trusted elf servant whose bloodline had always been servants to the royalties of the Northern dragons, met them. He updates them on the recovery of the hatchlings with dragon pox. They head to the hatchery, Kat supplies everyone with gloves and large jars of ointment on the way.
"Uh, what is this? Why are you giving me this jar and gloves?" Phoenix asks.
"To treat the hatchlings," Kat states. She eyes Phoenix and continues, "you volunteered,"
"I don't recall offering to help," Phoenix states, putting her hands on her hips.
"You wanted to come. So that means you help," Kat challenges, placing her own hands on her own hips.
Phoenix slits her eyes then gets a contemplative look on her face. "Okay, fine, I'll help," She says.
Kat slits her own eyes, suspicious of Phoenix's motives. She shrugs and approaches the hatchlings. As they begin to lather all fifteen of them up, Phoenix kicks off the conversation she came with them to have.
"I already talked to Trinity about this. Now I need both of you to listen. When Misha gets her revenge, we need to take it easy on her. She is entering her witch trials. But more than that, her mother was weak. Misha needs to be strong. She needs to own her powers. I fear that if we go too hard on her, she may grow to fear using them in retaliation. We all know that a witch must be willing to retaliate to survive," Phoenix says.
"She already got her revenge," Evee states.
"Oh, Evee, sometimes you really make my head hurt," Phoenix says, pushing the bridge of her nose against her arm as she continues to rub the ointment on a baby dragon with her other hand. She continues, "that was not her revenge. That was her making you think that she got her revenge. If I'm wrong then she's worse off than I thought,"
-told you so.- Kat mentally laughs to Evee.
Evee glares at Kat. She hated when Kat was right. Well, mostly she hated being wrong.
"If you two think that I don't know that y'all have been communicating telepathically this whole time…" Phoenix says, letting it trail off.
"My bad, ma," Evee says as she straightens her back and solutes Phoenix without touching herself.
"Evee! I'm trying to have a serious conversation with you, damn it!" Phoenix huffs and applies more pressure to the bridge of her nose.
"Yes, ma'am! I understand, ma'am!" Evee replies with a grin, knowing that Phoenix hates being called ma'am.
"Why you little shit!" Phoenix growls as she takes a menacing step towards Evee. Kat steps between them.
"So, you're saying to take it easy on her this time so she has the courage to continue playing with us so we can toughen her up," Kat says quickly, trying to distract both of them back from the distraction.
"Yes, that's what I'm saying," Phoenix replied, still glaring at Evee but going back to rubbing ointment on the dragons.
"But wouldn't that lead her to false expectations? Why go easy on her? She needs us to go hard on her so she will expect the worst and have a thicker skin," Evee says.
"Because she's a love witch, Evee. Love witches are notorious wimps. She needs delicate but firm lessons until she grows some tits. Her witch trial will get them growing, as long as we handle this situation with her a bit gently," Phoenix says.
"Okay, whatever. I don't agree but we'll be gentle with her," Evee says.
"Maybe we should just send Evee somewhere away from Misha while she goes through the witch trials? Evee doesn't know how to be gentle," Kat states, being serious and hating to have to say it out loud.
Evee turns towards Kat, pain in her eyes. "You want to send me away? I can be gentle,"
Kat mentally kicks herself. "No, I don't want to. It's just that if Misha is as delicate as Phoenix thinks… you know…" Kat gestures vaguely with her hands.
"I'll behave," Evee gritted out, barely holding back tears.
"We're not sending you anywhere," Phoenix states, throwing an unreadable look at Kat.
"There's one more thing. I think one of us should stay with her at all times while she's going through her witch trials. That's why Trinity stayed with her instead of coming with us for this talk," Phoenix says.
"Why?" Kat asks. She'd never heard of a witch, not even a love witch, having to be babysat for her witch trials before. That was really saying something because she's been around for quite a while. As Queen of the Dragons, which washer title on the Witch Queen's Counsel although she was also literally Queen of the Northern and Western dragons, she had guided many witches on their trials.
"As y'all know, her mother was a love witch in our coven. Her father, however, was not. We're not completely certain what he was. Her mother never told us," Phoenix stated in her end of conversation tone. Kat remembered Misha's mother, Sasha, quite well. She had been very sweet and very gullible. Those traits are quite common for love witches. Kat, Phoenix, Trinity, and Evee were trying their best to raise Misha to be mentally and physically stronger than other love witches in the hope that she wouldn't end up like her mother. Sasha had been tricked by her mate, drawn in by his charms then trapped. Sasha had dropped Misha off with them when Misha was seven, telling them that it was too dangerous for Misha to be with her. She had never returned and it pissed Kat off that she couldn't figure what happened to her.
"I'll take the next shift of watching over Misha," Kat volunteered.
"And I'll stay close," Evee muttered.
"We'll all stay as close as she needs us too," Phoenix stated, her tone commanding.
Misha had just finished placing the last security camera enchantment on the large mirror in the living room when Kat walks in.
"Hey Mish, whatcha up to?" Kat asks, raising her brow.
Misha was gazing deeply into the mirror. She didn't usually stare at her reflection for this long but she had to be sure that the spell was firmly in place and undetectable.
"I had something in my eye and I was making sure that I got it out," Misha replies, using her fingers to move her eyelid.
"I think I have some eye drops if you need some," Kat says.
"Thanks, but I have some in my room. I got it out though," Misha replies, taking a step back from the mirror and smoothing her clothes.
"Okay," Kat says as she walks away.
"You know, placing a surveillance enchantment on a mirror is not going to give you audio. You should really tweak your spell so we can hear what you're recording," Phoenix says from behind Misha, making Misha jump.
"I… I don't know what you're talking about," Misha says nervously.
"Yeah, no, of course you don't. Anyway, if I find any enchanted mirrors in my room, I will personally burn your room to ashes," Phoenix winks at her and walks away.
Misha breathes a sigh of relief. She hadn't placed the security spell on Phoenix and Trinity's room yet. Kat's and Evee's rooms however she had with an adaption to the enchantment that made the visual cut off when anyone was nude because she did NOT want to see that.
She quickly walked around the house and amended the enchantment on the mirrors so that audio would be recorded as well. She finished with the compact mirror she had hidden in the kitchen. Now she needed to sneak back into Evee and Kat's rooms and amend them as well. Misha walked to Kat's bedroom first and knocked on the door.
"You may enter," Kat called out.
Misha breathes a sigh of annoyance, she had hoped that Kat wasn't in there. She opens the door and walks in.
"Hey Kat, whatcha up to?" Misha asks with a small smile plastered to her face.
Kat holds up a finger as she inhales her hit off her dragon shaped bong. She coughs loudly and falls back on her bed.
"Just chillin'," Kat says as the coughing subsides.
Misha closes the door and flops on the bed. She closes her eyes briefly as she considers what to say. She opens her eyes and finds Kat observing her. Kat is an empath, which meant that Misha needed to tread carefully.
"Got a lot going on up there, huh Mish? Conflict isn't good for the mind. Wanna hit?" Kat asks as she holds up her bong in offering.
"No, I'm good. You know it makes me paranoid," Misha replies.
"Alright, your loss. But I'm glad you came in here. I wanted to talk to you," Kat says before taking another hit from the bong before it floats back to its place on her night stand. Misha looks at her suspiciously as Kat gets up and goes to her dresser, slipping on one of the piles of clothes along the way. She quickly recovers and acts like it didn't happen as she opens the top drawer and pulls out a box.
"Since I only gave you the dress last night, here is the other part of your birthday gift," She says, gently tossing it to the young witch. She then turns and grabs a blunt and lights it, walking back to her messy bed. Misha looks at it cautiously, the small black box simply tied with a blood red silk bow. She turns it over in her hands as she decides whether to open it or not.
"C'mon Mish, I really tried hard here," Kat says as she watches her, sensing the hesitation.
Misha pulls the bow off, rolling her eyes as she opens the box. Nestled in silk is a large fire opal carved in the shape of a heart. Misha gasps in shock as she lifts the pendant up. The stone catches the little light in the room, causing a kaleidoscope of colors to explode around her.
"It is enchanted to help you follow your heart. Anytime you feel lost just touch it, and it will point you in the direction that you need to go," Kat says as she lays back on her mound of pillows. Kat gives her a silver chain to put it on and Misha puts it on. Kat smiles, genuinely glad that she accepted the gift.
"And I suppose I should apologize for my part in last night's events. But don't be too hard on Vee. She didn't know you would turn invisible. That was me. The dress I enchanted for you, it will not only change colors depending on your mood, but anytime you are scared or feel threatened, you turn invisible," Kat says. Misha smacks her lips, confused by a sudden bitter taste in her mouth.
"Well, that's not completely true," Kat says with a frown, remembering. She continues, "Evee did know, but she forgot. You know she's extremely forgetful," She punctuates her clarification with an amused shrug.
"She still knew. And YOU knew. You let her do the prank, knowing I'd become invisible," Misha glares at her, her eyes turning violet colored in her anger that is flaring again.
"Shit! I forgot, I have to go rub the hatchlings with more ointment. See ya later, Mish!" Kat says, running to the portal before the witchlings new power blew up her room or something.
Misha had started feeling bad that she was going to get even. Now she's re-enraged and fully committed. She stood up and walked to the mirror. She added the listening to the enchantment then stormed to Evee's room. She barged in without bothering to knock.
Evee looked up from brushing her alicorn, Daphne. Daphne flicked her ears down and hissed, her white and metallic oil spill rainbow striped fur standing on end.
"Do all your creations hiss?" Misha asks, glaring.
"Only when they don't like you," Evee responded, glaring back.
Daphne stopped hissing her annoyance at the intrusion and pranced over to Misha, her detached fur trailing behind her. She rubbed herself against Misha, demanding attention, her wing moving up and down from the force. As Misha began petting her, she purred her approval loudly.
Misha smiled and raised her brows at Evee. "Yeah, I can really tell that she doesn't like me,"
Evee glares at Misha then at Daphne as Daphne circles Misha, rubbing against her forcibly in demand of more affection. "Traitor!" Evee mutters, then more loudly for Misha, "So what do you want, Ms. Love?"
Misha tunes into Evee's aura, grabbing onto her power of creation and viewing the love that the creations have for Evee. Each creation has a link to Evee, deeply rooted in her aura, their very life force a continuation of hers. Their love for her shined brightly. Misha's grabbed hold of the creations love and let her magic flow, amplifying it to an obsession. Now that each one wanted Evee all to themselves, Misha released her hold on Evee's aura.
Daphne pushed the side of her head against Misha and licked her face. As Misha rubbed her opalescent horn, she realized that she actually liked Daphne and didn't want her involved in her revenge. Misha promptly grabbed Evee's aura and dismissed her magic from influencing Daphne.
"World peace. To meet a nice man who understands the meaning of love. Oh, and revenge for my sisters ruining my birthday with an evil prank that I'm fairly certain you planned," Misha replies.
"You got your revenge. You smashed that cake in my face!" Evee says, crossing her arms.
"Oh honey, that wasn't my revenge. Smashing your peace offering in your face was just.. the icing on the cake," Misha smiles wickedly, proud of her pun.
"Look Mish, it wasn't supposed to go down like that. I don't know why you were invisible! But your birthday wasn't all bad at least. We had fun after," Evee says.
"Kat made me invisible, she admitted it when she apologized for her part. Her stupid dress! She should have told me and gave it to me. Instead Trinity had Phoenix turn her into a guy then knocked me out. Then Kat put it on me while I was unconscious. Yeah, I figured it out," Misha said at Evee's surprised expression, then continued, "But you're the worst! I thought we were close but you plotted this! I don't care how the night ended! You ruined my birthday!" Misha screams, her eyes turning violet.
"Misha, calm down!" Evee says, her own eyes growing wide.
"No!" Misha screams.
'Holy shit, her eyes are violet again! I hope her new powers don't include blowing shit up. If this freak blows up my room I'm going to be so pissed!' Evee thinks as she frantically looks around the room for a way to calm Misha down.
"Oh, so now I'm a freak!" Misha screams.
"What? No, Misha. I didn't say that!" Evee replies. 'I didn't say that out loud. Did I?'
"You did say that. You called me a freak!" Misha yells, tears building up in her eyes.
"I didn't mean it like that! Everyone is a freak. And people love freaks. I love freaks," Evee babbles as she spots a hand mirror on the nightstand. She grabs it and shows Misha. Misha gasps when she sees her eyes. They're beautiful yet terrifying. Freaky. Misha grabs the mirror and examines her reflection closely. She walks over to Evee's bed and sinks down onto it, Daphne flipping her tail in annoyance at the abandonment.
"What the fuck? Why are my eyes purple?" Misha asks.
"I don't know for certain but it's probably because you're entering your witch trials. I've heard that strange things happen when a witch is going through her trials," Evee replies, looking a bit jealous.
"I thought you were joking, but they really are purple! Wait. What are witch trials?" Misha asks nervously, breaking eye contact with herself to look at Evee.
"Phoenix and the rest of The Council will explain it to you. Soon," Evee says.
"What was yours like?" Misha asks.
Evee releases a long sigh. She walks over to the bed and sinks down beside Misha. "I have not yet gone through mine. I'm an anomaly among witches. Usually they begin when you're between twenty-one and twenty-five,"
"So you can't really tell me anything then," Misha states.
"I've heard stories but it's not my place to say anything until after you've spoken to The Witches Council," Evee says, looking empathetic for once.
"Should I be scared? I'm really freaking out about my eyes," Misha states.
"No, everything will be okay. You just have to walk through the storm to find your rainbow. Your eyes changing is a normal phase for witches. I've just never seen that color before," Evee replies. Love witches eyes usually turn pink or red; the purple was an anomaly.
"So I am a freak then?" Misha asks, staring at herself in the mirror again. She amends her spell on Evee's mirrors as Evee moves closer to her.
"Oh honey, the best of us are," Evee says and hugs her. The embrace was stiff and uncomfortable for both of them, Misha's rage still just barely underneath the surface.
"I'm going to go now.," Misha says awkwardly with a pat on Evee's back. Evee releases her and nods her head. Misha passes her the compact mirror as she gets up.
Misha decided to go to her room and take a nap. It was her birthday week and she could do what she wanted: sleep.
