Chapter 10
Realm of Sey Eneerg
-Main POV: Deraj-
Deraj laid in the huge bed in the massive guest bedroom the witches had made for him. The walls were painted a pale green that reminded him of Misha's eyes. The sheets, pillow cases, and blanket matched the walls. It was such a beautiful color. He wondered what Misha's bedroom looked like. He thought about going to talk to her, just to get a peak and see, but he wasn't sure if he could trust himself. He felt his second head grow and knew then that he couldn't. He forced his thoughts onto a different topic to ease his suffering. He needed to contact Scarlet. With that thought his erection shrank back down to normal almost instantly. He pulled out his cell phone and called his spaceship.
"Deraj? Is everything okay? I expected you all back by now," Scarlet said.
"We met some witches and they took us to their home. Can you lock onto my location and come to me?" Deraj asked.
"I've been trying. You're not in the same dimension. Having never been there before, I can't get to you," Scarlet replied.
"Damn it," Deraj said.
"I'll keep trying but I haven't been able to lock onto your location," Scarlet said.
"The witches aren't letting us leave. I'll try to convince them to bring you to me," Deraj stated.
"Are you saying witches? I thought you said bitches," Scarlet said.
"I suppose they're both. But I was saying witches," Deraj said.
"Hmm, well the internet says witches aren't real. There are humans who call themselves witches, who are wiccans, but they don't actually have powers. Perhaps these women are actually humans," Scarlet suggested.
"No, they have powers, Scarlet," Deraj said.
"Some Christians believe that there are witches who get their powers from someone called Satan who is supposed to be evil," Scarlet stated.
"I don't know if that is what is going on but some of these women could definitely be labeled as evil. One wants to suffocate me for giving her sister a dagger during battle. And another one has threatened to burn me alive. Evil is fitting. But at least one of them, Misha, doesn't seem evil. She's the woman I've been dreaming about, Scarlet. I have to get out of here. I need to get away from her," Deraj said.
"You will. I will find a way to you. Just be careful and be safe," Scarlet said.
"Thank you, Scarlet. Be safe," Deraj said and hung up the phone.
Deraj laid there, pondering his next move. His stomach rumbled and he decided to go get something to eat. He walked to the kitchen and peaked inside. Kat was the only witch inside the kitchen, busy making tacos.
Deraj walked in quietly, hoping she wouldn't notice him. He looked in the fridge and pulled out the makings for a simple ham sandwich. As he made it, he felt eyes watching him. He looked over to see Kat staring at him. Her forest green eyes were bloodshot and glossy, and she had a not quite there look to her. As if she was observing his soul rather than looking at him.
"You really like Misha. I mean, you got it bad there fuck face. Seriously, it's like looking at Phoenix or Trinity. Except you don't want to feel this way about her. You're fighting it and trying to escape her. You're feeling some extremely mixed emotions when it comes to Misha. You fear that she's going to ruin your life, and your mission. But you also have a burning desire to know her and protect her. You'd die for her but you would just as soon leave her. If not sooner. You need to get away from her yet you need to be closer to her. You have no idea what you want," Kat said. Her eyes then focused on his face and she continued, "What a typical guy. You're terrified to fall in love. Fucking basic bitch boy, aren't you!"
"I- what did you just do to me?" Deraj demanded, thoughts of evil satanic spells filling his head.
"I read your emotions. Felt them. I'm an empath," Kat stated.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
"What I feel is none of your business!" Deraj shouted, feeling violated.
"Wrong. Your intentions with Misha are my business. You not knowing what you want means you're a threat to Misha's heart. And with her being a love witch, especially one that is about to enter her witch trials, it means you are a threat to her. You hurt my Misha and I will end you. My dragons have never tasted alien before. They welcome the idea of a new flavor," Kat said.
"Dragons?" Deraj asked as he noticed her tattoos for the first time. Kat had Dragon tattoos all over her. They shimmered and seemed to move, as if alive.
"Yes, dragons. Fuck around and find out," Kat said, then grabbed her plate and walked away.
Deraj decided to take his sandwich back to his room so as to avoid any of the other witches. He sat down on his bed to enjoy his sandwich. Right as he took the first bite, Leira's voice whispered in his ear, making him jump.
"Deraj, how are we going to get out of here?" Leira asked over the earpiece.
"I'm working on it," Deraj said around a mouthful of food.
"We all contacted our ships but they can't find us," Leira stated, sounding worried.
"I contacted Scarlet as well. Same for her," Deraj replied.
"Commander Yelworc is going to be pissed. He expected a full report tonight," Annod stated.
"I have my cell phone on me. I'll call him," Deraj said, setting his sandwich back down and staring at it.
"Should we request back up?" Annod asked.
"No. It would take three hundred years for them to get here. If they could even figure out where here is. We're on our own," Deraj stated.
"How are we going to get out of here? They've taken us to another dimension!" Leira said frantically.
"I'm going to try to convince them to bring Scarlet here," Deraj said.
"You really think they'll do that?" Relyt asked.
"Maybe. They were interested in her. I think Evee might. She seemed really interested in an invisible spaceship," Deraj recalled.
"I think we should each try to get close to one of them. That way the odds are better," Relyt said.
"That's not a bad idea. I'll take Evee since the others seem to want to kill me," Deraj said.
"You should take Misha. She has a crush on you. You can manipulate her," Leira said.
"I don't like that idea," Deraj stated. He couldn't imagine manipulating Misha. Plus Kat just threatened to feed him to dragons if he hurt her.
"It's the best plan we have, Deraj," Leira stated firmly.
"Why don't we wait and see which ones try to be around us? I have a feeling that they're going to separate us anyway and I doubt they'll let Misha be alone with me," Deraj said, not wanting to admit that he wasn't sure he could follow through.
"You're right. Hopefully they decide to do that tomorrow," Leira agreed.
"We should all get some sleep. And make sure you all keep your earpiece on you," Deraj ordered.
"Yes, sir. Goodnight," They all said back, aside from Elyk who didn't have an earpiece and still hadn't spoken since the rescue.
"Goodnight," Deraj said back and pushed his earpiece to end the conversation.
Deraj finished his sandwich, threw the napkin in the trash, and laid down. He pulled out his cell phone and called Commander Yelworc. Commander Yelworc answered immediately.
"Deraj? Is everything okay? I was expecting your call a good while ago," Commander Yelworc said.
"All of our people are alive. However, we've been captured by witches. We're safe but our ships can't get to us," Deraj said.
"Why the hell not?" Commander Yelworc barked.
"The witches teleported us to a different realm," Deraj said.
"They what? How the hell did they do that?" Commander Yelworc demanded.
"By blinking, it appeared," Deraj replied.
"Well I'll be damned. Our scientists haven't even figured out how to do that yet. Perhaps we should have you bring them home with you after completing the mission," Commander Yelworc considered.
"I'm not sure that's possible, sir. They are powerful. And they have dragons," Deraj stated.
"Are you making shit up, son?" Commander Yelworc demanded.
"No, sir. These women are strange. And that little girl I told you about all those years ago…" Deraj started, shutting his eyes tightly, knowing he had to report it.
"The one you healed with your blood that you've been searching for?" Commander Yelworc asked.
"That's the one. I think I found her," Deraj forced out, his throat feeling tight. He felt the need to keep Misha a secret, to protect her.
"The witches have her?" Commander Yelworc asked.
"She's one of the witches, sir," Deraj replied.
"Is she showing signs of having imprinted?" Commander Yelworc asked, his own voicesounding strained and forced.
"She is, sir. Is there a way to stop it?" Deraj asked, hoping there was, and yet at the same time hoping there wasn't.
"Well, you can kill her," Commander Yelworc suggested.
"I can't. If I kill her, the other witches will kill all of us," Deraj stated, feeling strangely relieved.
"Are you exhibiting symptoms of a mate match?" Commander Yelworc asked.
"I-" Deraj cleared the lump from his throat and tried again, "I am, sir,"
"Well then, I can't expect you to kill her regardless. I'll discuss the matter with Leira," Commander Yelworc stated sternly, leaving no room for arguing. Deraj gritted his teeth. If Leira laid a finger on Misha, he would…. He would what? He needed to get control of himself. Besides, Leira couldn't kill Misha without them all facing certain death either.
"These witches are extremely protective of each other. If Leira tries to kill Misha, they will kill us all. They've already threatened to burn us alive as well as suffocate us. And they have powers to back it. The witch, Kat, also threatened to feed me to her dragons if Misha gets hurt. " Deraj said.
"Hmmm. Well I'll give it some thought for an alternative plan," Commander Yelworc replied.
"We have a plan to get our spaceships to us. Not sure how long it's going to take though," Deraj stated, changing the subject before he lost his mind.
"I understand. Keep me updated and be safe," Commander Yelworc said.
"Yes, sir! Be safe," Deraj replied. The line went dead and Deraj put his cellphone back in his pocket.
Deraj laid there contemplating what to do about Misha. No solution was forthcoming. Eventually he fell asleep.
