Hello beautiful readers. I hate doing this and it really sucks but there (probably) won't be a chapter this week. Life has thrown me a few curves balls this past few weeks and family medical stuff is at the forefront.
I don't thinks I've said but my schedule it to plan the chapter on Mondays, write the bulk of the chapter on Tuesdays and edit and post on Wednesdays but this week, even thought I've been writing, it's slow and I'm struggling to concentrate. I may pull it out of the bag but I didn't want to leave you all hanging if I didn't. I'm sorry everyone. So, just in case, I'll give you a little sneak peek behind the scenes again. I hope you enjoy it. As always, stay safe and look after one another. 😊
Kine: (whispering to his small group as they leave the Embassy) Is it bad that I really want to bat at their tails? It just looks so fun.
Sierra: (hissing) Yes Kine! You can't just so that.
Kine: I wouldn't do it... It just looks fun. Besides, the author isn't letting me relax that much. I always have to be the formal, calm one.
Author: Hey! Don't blame me. You all high-jack the plot every chapter! I don't know what you're doing half the time!
Sierra: Don't bother her, she's doing her best... probably. Look, you aren't a wild cat Kine, you can't just say that kind of thing.
Matthais: (wistfully) ...No. I get where he's coming from. I'd like to play like a kitten again.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
Sierra: Matthias! Why didn't you say, we could go play in the jungle if you like.
Thane: No playing, we have a global crisis here!
Author: Shhhhhhhh. Thane, I've told you, no SPOILERS!
Thane: But-
Author: No.
Thane: I wasn't-
Author: Nope.
Thane: But I didn't-
Author: NO! I have three more books to write and I need all the material I can get so. No. Spoilers. Okay?
Thane: Fine... (quietly) even though you already mentioned The Guide.
Author: Incoherant ranting as Thane cowers.
Sierra: ... Issss he gonna be okay?
Matthias and Kine shrug.
Sierra: Huh... Anyway, this is so annoying. It's near the end of the book and I want to know what happens. I'm getting itchy feet.
Matthais: Well, why don't we write it?
Kine: Ooooh. Good idea! This time, I'm not getting a hole in my stomach.
Sierra: Sorry Kine. It's already published, you can't change that. But we could finish the book for her.
Matthais grunts in humour as Kine sighs dejectedly.
Kine: Fine. I need a break. Maybe the next candidate pool will find a suitable King and I can retire. So, what will we write?
Sierra: Well, I'd like to have a ride on a dragon!
Kine: No, no, nope. Absolurlty not! No love interest. You're too young, you've not even hit five decades let alone your first century. Not to mention you've only just gone through maturity.
Sierra: Kine.
Matthais: She's smart and mature. She can handle a relationship.
Sierra: Kine.
Kine: Of course she can but we only just found her. Don't you want more time with her before-
Sierra: KINE! I JUST want to try flying!!
Kine: ... Oh... Yeah me too. That would be cool.
Matthias nods in agreement. I mean, who doesn't love dragons?
Sierra: (Spots Thane) Thane! Your back! Where's the author?
Thane: (whimpering) No spoilers. No spoilers. No spoilers...
Sierra: Oh. Oh dear. Uuuuuummmm, let's go get ready for that meeting. Maybe it will help distract Thane.
Sierra leaves.
Kine: I still think the Drakes would make great play mates...
Matthias nods his agreements and they both leave. Thane stares blankly after them.
Thane: I want an assistant. My job became so much harder since the royal family grew. *sigh*.
Thane leaves to catch up with the others.
Author: (Turns around from frantic plot planning to find everyone gone) ... Did I say something wrong?
