Achilles parents packed the food and they all headed to the field. Achilles had a look of amazement on his face at the amount of food that was filled with energy, he would have also been amazed at the technology there had it not been for the fact that most of it was weapons reminding him of the grim future that awaits him,

"Cheer up kiddo, don't think too much." His dad said trying to cheer him up,

"Yeah, I know, live in the now, not the future." Achilles said repeating the words his dad has said to him many times before.

"Hey, I want to go over there." Shaun said grabbing his brother's hand and dragging him to a stall filled with energy apple, a thing made from caramelized energy, though it's usually green due to the energy, people have found a way to give it many colors.

"I want the orange one, buy it for me."

"That isn't how you ask."

"Can you please buy it for me." Shaun corrected with a wide grin. Achilles pulled out his wallet and searched through it pulling out some bills,

"Here go buy this, and use this to buy other stuff, just don't buy too much food, we're eating later."

"Thanks bro." Shaun said before running away with the money and energy apple. Achilles decided that tonight he was going to blow all of his money on his family before the night's out. Achilles headed back to his parents who were standing by a tech demo, it was displaying sneakers that launches the wearer into the air.

"That looks cool." Achilles said,

"I know right, imagine how much fun it would be to use this in our day-to-day life." His mother exclaimed, awestruck by this display.

"You know I can do that without the shoes right."

"Oh, stop boasting." she replied.

"Anyways, so we're meeting up at the center of the field right."

"Yeah, so don't get lost okay." His dad responded,

"You know I won't, now I'm going to look for Jake, don't eat without me." Achilles shouted before running away to look for his friend.

Everyone seemed to have forgotten about the crisis they are currently going through, it's a shame they did. That's just the thing about humans, they tend to surround themselves with distractions, things to take their mind off of stuff that gets them down. While doing this it leaves them vulnerable to the enemy, as they blindly run around and play with their distractions.

Amongst the crowds were men from the country of Con, in their pockets were devices called the Awakeners. They moved around the festival, placing Awakeners all around the perimeter of the event, finally they placed one in the center of the festival, the place where Achilles and his family was supposed to meet up.

As Achilles was talking to Jake, he felt something, he didn't know what, he never felt it before, but it felt bad. It was hurting him; he felt his mind dipping in and out of conciseness he felt his head getting heavy. He stumbled a bit and held onto his friend's shoulder,

"You good?" Jake asked,

Jake said trying to guide his friend to where his family is supposed to be, which was the center of the festival next to the energy fountain. Instead, he only saw his brother.

"Shaun where's mom and dad." Achilles asked,

"They went to look around some more, they're supposed to be coming soon."

On the other side of the festival there was a group of men standing and waiting, for the last member of the group to leave. The men soon packed up and left the area heading a safe distance away. Soon they pushed a button and neon purple energy began to course through the earth, it formed a dome around the festival and many of the participants began to screech in pain as they clasp their hand over their ears trying to pull it off, while others were clawing at their eyes. Some began to mutter words of wanting something, desiring the things that they seem to love the most. Achilles looked around; sure, his head was hurting too but in his mind their reactions was a bit too much. He felt his friend let go of him and fall to his knees as he too began to screech, Achilles looked at him in confusion before looking at his brother who blacked out. "W-What's Going On!" Achilles shouted as he watched the purple electricity jumping around the grass. Achilles backed away and stumbled into the fountain. He felt panicky and couldn't control his breathing as he tried to wrap his head around the events going on around him. 'Just a few seconds ago everything was fine is this a terrorist attack' Achilles thought as he pieced together his thoughts. Achilles was now soaked confused and scared and to make matters worse the events that happened next made it worse for him. A constant flow of neon purple energy shot out from the center of the fountain and dispersing when it hits the dome. This caused many to start to foam at the mouth including Achilles brother. Achilles got up as quickly as he can, trying his hardest to ignore his headache. He stumbled towards the center of the fountain and tried to climb to the top. he didn't know why he was doing this; he just knew in his head that he wanted this feeling to stop. Soon he made it to the top and nearly fell on top of the Awakener. He laid inside of the purple beam he felt an excruciatingly burning sensation as he felt his skin flaking off of his body. The activator was the size of his hand. He got up and crouched over it, trying to block the beam but all this did was spray the beam around the area, like placing a thumb over a faucet. Achilles screamed in agony as he felt the cracks on him getting bigger, as though someone was pulling his skin apart. Instinctively Achilles pushed out some of the energy that was stored within him and pushed it out of his body. Soon a white energy covered the purple beam blocking it from hitting the dome. Afterwards the white energy damaged the awakener leading to a chain reaction of all the other awakeners shutting off.

"Reabsorbing energy."

Achilles muttered as his body swayed from side to side.

The remaining energy dispersed into particles before getting sucked into Achilles body. Soon he collapsed because now there is purple energy flowing through his soul.
