I head straight to the rented inn room and see my mother sitting on the bed, waiting for me.
"Oh! Have you already come back? How is it?" She asked while her face is pale from all her worries about me.
"Ah, I did not pass all the tests and they deemed me unfit. So... Let's go for a walk around the city while we are still here."
I tell her about the result and quickly change the topic. Looking at her face, she knows that I did something for me not to get into the academy and shows that she has mixed feelings about the situation. But then she shakes her head and stands up.
"Let's go and see the city. Since this is your first time, I will take the lead and be your guide even though it has been years since I came here." Mom chuckles as she said that and becomes excited to show me around.
"Lead the way mom."
We take a walk around the city near the inn. I have not taken a good look at the city, the building structure and the architecture of this Kingdom ever since I come here. It is truly magnificent and totally different than Arranaire. Arranaire city was an elven city before it was fallen into the hands of the kingdom so I got used to the elven architecture, the simplicity and more focus on the feature rather than aesthetics. As I walk around with my mother in the front section of the capital, I can see that they focus more on the aesthetics and style of their buildings. The grandiose rather than making use of the space efficiently.
"This section where we staying in our inn is one of the sections in the capital, these sections are called districts and we are right now in the Southern District where it houses the academy, workshops, marketplace and other businesses."
My mother eagerly explains to me as we walk through the marketplace. There are several blacksmith workshops, magic bookstores and alchemist shops that can be found here. We stop by to one of the blacksmith workshops and asked for a blacksmith that she knew.
"Good afternoon, is Blacksmith Gaile around?" She asks the female blacksmith who is working on the anvil.
"Afternoon, who is asking?" The woman asked with a suspicious look.
"Ah, I'm June Dawn. My late husband is a friend of Mr. Gaile and this place was his since the last time I saw him. I feel weird to see that the sign has changed that is why I ask."
The female blacksmith stood up and walk in front of mother to speak to her directly as if there was bad news.
"Master Gaile died 8 years ago in the war. He was forced to participate in the war to help maintain the Kingdom's weapons and armor. After his family got the news of his death, their family sold the shop to me and they traveled west. I have not heard anything after that."
Mother's lips stay silent after she heard the news. Another life was lost to the unnecessary war that grasp this land.
"Oh, I see. He already passed away almost a decade ago."
I grab my mother's arm and say my goodbyes to the blacksmith. "Let's go, mother."
The news brings down our mood to sightseeing. I look at mother's face while we walk towards the academy road. She did not cry but I can feel and see the sadness in her expression. One of my father's friends died and so it's like a memory of him is gone as well. I tightened my grip on her hands and whisper into her ear.
"Are you okay mom?"
This is a question to which I already know the answer but it helps her to tell me her troubles.
Mother shakes her head.
"Herm, It's nothing big. It's just that... This war... There's no end to it..."
For the last several days, the thought of war and death has been on mother's mind. She is afraid that she will lose me too. This will be a problem in the future as I am the one who is being chosen to save this world by the angel but the angel said to save it from the demons but not from the wars waged among the inhabitants. How do I tell her that? Can she believe it and trust me? I have to ensure her or something.
"It's okay mom. I will be the one who will put the end to this and make this world a peaceful place. I promise."
A bit childish but somewhat true words.
Mother looks at me and chuckles. Her mood lightens a bit from my childishness.
"I am looking forward to it then. If it's you then, I know that it will happen!"
Mother takes my words as a joke from a child but it is my mission in this world.
I am sorry in advance if you think it is just a childish dream but it's true, mother. I just hope you will understand when the time comes. As we walk near the academy that I have just gone to in the morning, there's a commotion in the plaza outside of the academy gates. People are clamoring and standing around in a circle. We walk towards it with curiosity.
"Even if you have a hero class, you do not act like one. Instead, you act like a spoiled child raised in arrogance and a silver spoon in your dirty mouth who did not face any real competition in real life. Say sorry for the insults that you have given to my friend or I will 'teach' you some humility."
Said one of the two students who are facing off with each other. That particular student is wearing the academy uniform but is using a familiar weapon, a katana. Both students, based on their appearance, seem to be seniors in the academy. I look around the scene, people are clamoring around but no one is stopping the fight that is about to erupt.
"Why should I ask for forgiveness if my words are the truth? That girl should not be able to be in the same class as me and also it includes you, Mr. transfer student. A samurai class? What a bullshit class and you must somehow cheat in the exams to get into the academy. Also, that girl can only use one spell and it is "Heal" and she somehow got the highest marks in the group exam when she teamed up with you? I bet she just whoring out to you to help her somehow."
The last sentence triggered the samurai student making him unsheathe his katana.
"Spiritual Armor." A burst of white spirit envelopes his body. It looks like he is using his own spirit as armor.
"Oh, what a grunt. Truly a stupid country bumpkin from nowhere."
The hero class student then unsheathes his long sword from his hip. "Triumph. Heroic Rally. Protect Shield"
Three buffs from his hero class that he just used, Triumph seems to strengthen his sword and glows light blue first then the ground he is standing, a rune appears and buffs himself. The last skill invokes a silver shield on his left hand out of nowhere.
"Spirit Blade." The samurai student uttered one of his skills. His katana glows white, the same color as his armor. (So, he is using his own spirit to protect and increase the sharpness and damage of his katana. White spirit... herm... does the color depends on the person?)

Silence befell between the two as they are looking at each other, to see who is making the first move.
"How horrible. Students should not speak and behave like this. Somebody should stop them."
My mother who is beside me speaks her mind while I am analyzing the skills that they are using.
"It's okay, I think there are teachers who will come and stop them. We are in the plaza in front of the academy so someone will come to stop them in a minute or two. Let's just watch first."
Mother contemplates for a moment but then nods in agreement.
"Lightning slash!" The samurai student steps in front of the hero student. Trying to slash his upper body with his katana but is blocked by the shield.
"What can a single-edge and snappable sword like that can do against a hero like me? Nothing. This battle is long past overdue to put you in place and not become so over achievable like the previous exam."
The hero student then counters by slashing toward him as the katana is caught by the shield, leaving him vulnerable.
"Too slow." The samurai student dashes back before the sword hits him.
"Ergh, insignificant bastard." The hero student dashes forward.
"Multiple slashes!" An angry yell from the hero student, trying to hit his opponent.
Avoiding all the slashes with minimal movement, showing his opponent the difference in experience between them, making the audience clamor and clap their hands.
"Hah, where is your high and mighty self just now? Cat got your tongue?" The samurai student taunts to make his opponent lose focus.
"SHUT UP! HIYA! HEROIC THRUST!" A tiny hurricane forms at the tip of the long sword and aims at the samurai student.
(That skill will hit the pedestrians clamoring around if that samurai student just dodges it)
The samurai student, angered by the lack of concern of his opponent, jumps back in the air and throws a kunai to the tip of his sword.
The kunai disrupts the hurricane from the heroic thrust skill and wind exploding in front of the hero student's face. The blast pushes the hero to the fountain and destroys the statue but the kunai's direction goes straight to my mother as its speed is as fast as a bullet.
"Radiance Ray," I uttered my skill silently to destroy the kunai from the tip of my finger as mother is standing right beside me. A flash of light disappears and then a gush of wind from the momentum is the only evidence left which blows the skirt of my mother.
"Ah! Where the light comes from?" She covers her eyes from the golden light that suddenly appears beside her.
The wind coming in our direction blows my mother's long skirt, revealing her calves.
"Ah, where is the wind coming from?" Holding her skirt down immediately. The men around us sneak a look at her but I quickly cover her by standing in front of her. Damn it, why today of all days, did you choose to wear that long skirt. Oh yeah, 'a date'.
"Iai Slash" a crescent slash comes straight towards the downed hero student.
The hero student stands up and puts up his shield to directly take the hit from the slash, putting his trust into his shield.
*Slashed*
The Iai Slash hits the shield and it separates into two slashes as they travel past the hero student, hitting the pavement behind him and dust rising around him.
"Hah, your power cannot ever match mi-" Then the samurai student moves in front of him as if he is teleporting but I can see his fast movement.
(He is very experienced in combat.)
"Wha-" The hero student was stunned by the sudden movement and let his guard down.
The samurai student then hits the hero student's nose with his katana hilt, breaking his nose.
With his nose bleeding and tattered uniform, the hero student tries to strike with his long sword but the samurai student already dashes back a few inches away.
"It seems that I underestimate you a little bit. No matter, I will kill you for this disgrace." The hero student ready himself by holding his longsword with his two hands and putting the sword in front of his face.
"Ultimate skill: Unrelenting Force.", The ultimate skill of a hero class which grants him a massive amount of energy and magic surging within him. It also boosts all of his stats and power up his abilities and any weapon that he wields.
The samurai student sheaths his katana and positions himself to strike at him for one final time.
"Ultimate skill: Final Stand." He uttered his ultimate skill name and a dangerous amount of presence came out from him, blowing all things around him. His pure white spirit envelops his weapon and vibrates like a high-frequency blade from the game, Divine Eternal Conflict that I played.
(Is it possible to recreate the high-frequency blade from Divine Eternal Conflict without using any skill?)
I thought to myself about recreating weapons and armor from the game which has an abundance of ideas including the high-frequency blade. But then, a sound comes into my mind as I am watching the match between the two students.
[Class granted: Hero]
[Class granted: Samurai]
"HUH?! WHAT?"
"What is it, son?" Mom asked me after I suddenly open my mouth, shocked by the new classes that I got.
"Nothing, just that... They really go out and use ultimate skills for a quarrel like this."
"Yeah, but it seems that this match will be over soon. Look!" Mother points her finger at two people who are walking toward the students.
"Freeze!"
"Flash step" *Slam*
The samurai student gets his feet and arms frozen while the hero student got his head slammed down to the floor.
"Oh, it is those two." The two teachers, the sorceress and the swordsman, from the academy who are going on a date, come and stop them both.
"Fighting without authorization and outside of the school arena, using ultimate skills and destruction of properties. Both of you have so much to answer for and you, Yuri, I expect so much from you to not act like this." Said the female teacher, the sorceress that I met earlier today, who freezes the samurai student while she covers her face with her hand, feeling disappointed and annoyed by this incident.
"You are still green, Julius. Getting knocked out by a single slam to the ground while using an ultimate skill. There are other 'hero' students that perform better than you, you proud bastard. Even the previous Hero of the Kingdom only uses the ultimate skill one time and that is when he was facing the Sorceress of the Elven Dominion before he got disintegrated into ashes."
He then laughs as the hero student heads deep into the ground.
[Class granted: Sorcerer]
[Class granted: Swordsman]
[Class capacity is nearing maximum]
(Huh? Again? There must be something that triggered this. Is it because I saw the skills and analyzed them?)
Throughout the match, I unconsciously analyzed the skills and how they work. But the final sentence strikes something in me. What does class capacity mean? Does it mean that I have a limited amount of classes that I can learn? I need to consult with Eternity about this. I have not heard something like this.
"Looks like the match is now over. Let's go back to the inn now. I'm tired."
"Hum, yes. Let's go back." Mother seems tired after watching the brawl but then both of the teachers say stop the people around us to say something.
"Ehem! We would like to apologize for this incident and the academy will pay for any destruction that it inflicted. We are-"
Both of the teachers try to settle and ensure the people around who are watching the brawl but then.
"It's okay. Nobody was hurt by it anyway." A 20-something-year-old man said that while he smiles. He then continues, "Yeah, it's okay for these students to sharpen their abilities through this brawl as they are the hope for this kingdom against the war"
(What do you mean, 'nobody got hurt'. The kunai went directly to mother's face if I don't protect her.)
I grip my hand in anger after hearing that statement, holding myself back. At least mother did not get hurt.
Then the people around us agree with the man's statement. Clamoring.
"The academy students always brawl in this section of the city so we got used to it. It was awesome to see a samurai class that can rival a hero class. I heard rumors that the samurai class comes from the Dragon Islands and that transfer student is the only samurai class in this kingdom?" one woman beside mother speaks.
The sorceress looks at her companion and then opens her mouth.
"Yeah, this transfer student is an abnormality. No one in the kingdom has ever gotten the samurai class so we transfer him from his old school into ours as soon as we got to know his class."
The swordsman looks in the woman's direction when she asks about the samurai class but then his eyes locked into mine and notice me. He then smiles as he waves toward me. I wave back to him.
"Yuri, you and Julius will wait at the infirmary for your punishment." The sorceress then looks at her companion. "Can you please watch over them for the time being?"
The swordsman nods and pops Julius' head out from the ground. He put his flailing body on his shoulder and pick up the frozen Yuri.
Then both my mother and I go back to the inn to prepare ourselves to go back to our home.
(What a day.)
